Key Responsibilities/Duties

• Conduct field exploration for rocks and mineral deposits of economic value;
• Identify drilling sites
• Supervise implementation of plans for drilling operations including Core logging and core sampling.
• Conduct geological site investigations;
• Generate and interpret prospect level maps including: lithological, structural, mineral resource, and cross-section seismic profiles;
• Generate additional geological, geochemical or geophysical data;
• Undertake post-drilling analysis and evaluation;
• Undertake chemical, mineralogical, or microscopic examinations of exploration samples; and
• Compile, interpret, and present exploration data for usage

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in the following disciplines: - Geology, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Engineering Geology, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

• Prepare applications for mineral rights and periodical performance reports;
• Prepare of mine plans;
• Geotechnical assessment of mining areas;
• Implement mine Scheduling;
• Implement waste rock management plans;
• Manage of run of mine stock piles;
• Implement mine safety, environment and health regulations in mining operations;
• Post mining land reclamation operations.
• Mineral Processing Division
• Carry out metallurgical tests on mineral ores for optimal benefication methods;
• Prepare designs and supervision of installation of mineral processing plant, cutting and polishing plant and any other equipment necessary for mineral benefication;
• Prepare and implement mineral processing waste management plans;
• Manage mineral products stockpiles and inventories;
• Implement mine safety, environmental and health regulations in mineral processing

Operational Responsibilities/Tasks

• Carry out routine operational, financial, and technical audits as per work plan;
• Draft audit reports on assignment for review with supervisor;
• Verify payment documents as per approved procedures;
• Check maintenance of accurate accounting records;
• Conduct special audit and investigation assignments as assigned;
• Undertake follow up audits to determine whether agreed recommendations on the past reviews are being undertaken by the process owner;
• Implement and adhere to the Customer Service Charter to meet customer requirements;
• Review developed and submitted regular departmental reports and make recommendations;
• Review prepared board papers and present them to the relevant board committee;
• Articulate issues related to the Division and represent the Division in various meetings and / or forums.

Financial Responsibilities

• Participate in preparation of departments budget and expenditure
• Participate in development of departmental annual procumbent and assets disposal plan.

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, pure Sciences, Applied Sciences, and Social Sciences or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
