    Human Resource and Administration Officer

    HRO/03/2021

    Reporting to the Manager, Human Resource & Administration, the job holder will support in facilitating efficient delivery of HR & Administrative functions. The job holder will also provide support to the Training & Consulting division in delivery of Training and  Organisation Development Services. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the review and dissemination of HR and Administration policies
    • Support in recruitment and selection processes through long listing, shortlisting and scheduling candidates for interviews
    • Support in new staff onboarding and induction processes
    • Support in leave management, planning and reporting
    • Support the FKE Training and Consultancy units in Organisational Development Services and coordination for delivery of Training
    • Provide Administrative support to programs and departments as assigned from time to time
    • Ensure HR and Administrative records are filed in a timely manner and are up to date
    • Coordinate and supervise third party service providers in cleaning, security and transport services
    • Facilitate the training needs analysis process, development plans and scheduling of staff capacity building sessions
    • Support in implementation and roll out of the Human Resource Management system
    • Prepare Administrative reports for management decision making
    • Ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained and observed at the workplace
    • Monitor and replenish office consumables to facilitate efficient service delivery
    • Coordinate repairs and keep records of all repairs done on all machines (Water pump and Generator) and motor vehicles and ensuring that maintenance is undertaken at the right times to avoid breakdown and over-usage of machines
    • Draft general correspondences and reports as required from time to time
    • Support in handling staff welfare issues

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field with a specialization in Human Resource Management
    • Post graduate/ Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management/ Industrial Relations
    • A member of the Institute of Human Resource Management in good standing
    • 4 years proven work experience in Human Resource and Administration Management in a busy organization
    • Demonstrated experience in HR, Administration, Training, Organization Development and coordination roles

    Project Manager

    PM/03/2021

    FKE in execution of its mandate often partners with various donors through projects to deliver services to members. Reporting to the Head of Advocacy, Consulting & Partnerships, the job holder will ensure timely implementation of FKE donor funded projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare project technical proposals for funding in line with FKE’s and members’ needs; 
    • Prepare project plans and implementation matrixes for all FKE projects
    • Monitor and control project financial expenditure for prudent resource use and in line with FKE financial guidelines;   
    • Provide liaison support services with donors on Project Management to promote good working relations with them
    • Ensure that project stated outputs and outcomes are achieved;
    • Ensure monitoring and Evaluation of projects is done and agreed on milestones are tracked
    • Prepare and ensure that project technical reports are done and submitted in a timely manner, meet FKE and donor expectations and are in conformity to financial guidelines;
    • Always maintain an up to date status dashboard of all FKE projects
    • Ensure proper use, safety and usability of donor equipment for accountability and organizational integrity;   
    • Participate in and represent FKE in project related meetings internally, nationally and international forums;
    • Ensure capacity building for staff, members and clients on the various project subjects
    • Facilitate development of partnerships with donors, private sector and members for development and implementation of projects in line with FKE’s strategy
    • Collect, document and disseminate good practices and lessons from projects
    • Manage and provide technical advice for projects in private sector engagement, skills development, workplace wellness programs, social dialogue, employment relations, labour relations, and social policy areas among others
    • Perform any other duties as required.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree in Development studies or a related field
    • Post Graduate Diploma in Projects Management or a related field
    • Experience in Monitoring & Evaluation of projects
    • A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
    • 7 years’ relevant experience in Projects planning, management and delivering related assignments, 3 of which should be at Senior Management level
    • Demonstrated ability, experience and track record in working with multiple stakeholders
    • Proven experience in private sector engagement, skills development, workplace wellness programs and social policy areas
    • Current membership to a relevant professional body

    • Demonstrated skills in project management, negotiations and working with institutional leaders in public, private, civil society and development sectors
    • Proven excellent report writing and strong communication skills
    • Resource mobilization skills
    • Demonstrated competence in managing budgets; experience communicating with business stakeholders at all levels\
    • Ability to multi-task and manage diverse tasks simultaneously
    • Flexible and able to productively work in a team, as well as individually with limited supervision
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    Policy Research and Strategy Officer

    PRO/03/2021

    Reporting to the HOD Advocacy, Consulting & Partnerships, the job holder will ensure timely execution of research assignments and support in strategy & policy advocacy on employment, labour and economic matters within the scope of the Federation’s mandate. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out research assignments on Employment, labour Relations, social policy and economic matters
    • Design research instruments and other survey methodologies
    • Preparation of survey plans and collection of data
    • Data analysis and reports preparation
    • Coordinate the implementation of research assignments to ensure timely completion
    • Monitor and evaluate assignments to ensure that high standards are maintained in the planning, development and execution of research assignments.
    • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with various individuals and institutions in order to maximize on current and future research opportunities
    • Prepare and submit research reports with findings and recommendations
    • Participate in the delivery of Training service as and when required
    • Monitoring policy issues in the fields of Employment, Labour Relations and social policy
    • Drafting of policy briefs and positions
    • Support in tracking the Execution of FKE strategy

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy or a related Social Science
    • A Master’s degree or equivalent will be an added advantage
    • 4 years proven work experience in policy research or public policy analysis

    • Strong analytical and inference skills
    • Strong oral communication and writing skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to adhere to research study guidelines and protocols
    • Proficiency in computers
    • A fast learner with a positive attitude

    • Statistical and data analysis skills using data analysis programs will be an added advantage
