    Manager - Practice Centre Of Excellence

    Job Summary

    The Institute is establishing and operationalising a Practice Centre of Excellence (PCoE), a structured professional development platform that will raise audit quality, deepen practitioner competence and strengthen the sustainability of Practice Firms in Kenya. The Centre will equip practitioners to thrive amid the growing sophistication of professional practice, driven by advances in auditing and quality management standards, ethical requirements, technology and sustainability reporting. The PCoE will serve as ICPAK's flagship home for professional practice development, quality enhancement, innovation and technical excellence.

    To support effective implementation of the Practice Centre of Excellence (PCoE), the jobholder will be responsible for directing the daily operations of the Practice Centre of Excellence and ensuring seamless delivery of the training programs for practitioners. The role will be responsible for ensuring that the Practice Centre of Excellence delivers practical, high-impact training programs that address the gaps identified during ICPAK’s Quality Assurance Reviews on practising firms. The role will also oversee and implement the Certification Course for Preparers of Financial Statements in Kenya.

    The job holder will also support other technical work of the Institute by participating in technical forums and developing CPD training concept notes and responding to exposure drafts.

    Job Specifications:
    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, or a related field

    Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional body

    • Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K)
    • Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)

    Work Experience:

    • At least 7 years’ experience in external audit and assurance, three of which must be in a leadership role.

    Assistant Manager, Legal Services (Legal Compliance And Disciplinary Support)

    Job Summary

    Reporting to the Head of Legal Services, the Assistant Manager will lead the legal regulatory-compliance and disciplinary support workstream and serve as the department's principal link to the Disciplinary Committee, support to the Regulation Licensing and Compliance Directorate as well as the Registration and Quality Assurance Committee (RQAC) and the investigations function. The role provides a dedicated legal compliance function and technical legal support across the full disciplinary lifecycle, from preliminary review of complaints to proceedings before the Disciplinary Committee and the handling of appeals, safeguarding the quality, efficiency, consistency and legal soundness of the Institute's disciplinary and dispute-resolution processes.

    Job Specifications:
    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) from a recognized institution

    Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional body

    • Qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate
    • A registered member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) in good standing

    Work Experience:

    • At least five (5) years’ relevant post-qualification experience, with demonstrated experience in litigation, legal advisory, investigations, disciplinary proceedings, regulatory compliance, enforcement or quasi-judicial processes
    • Demonstrated experience in conducting and managing litigation and disputeresolution matters, including preparation of pleadings, submissions, legal opinions, evidence and case strategy.

    Practice Centre Of Excellence Coordinator

    Job Summary

The Centre will equip practitioners to thrive amid the growing sophistication of professional practice, driven by advances in auditing and quality management standards, ethical requirements, technology and sustainability reporting. The PCoE will serve as ICPAK's flagship home for professional practice development, quality enhancement, innovation and technical excellence.

    To support effective implementation of the Centre of Excellence, the jobholder will ensure that all training programs are delivered as scheduled in the annual training plan and provide administrative support to the Manager – Practice Centre of Excellence.

    The job holder will also be responsible for successful implementation of the Certification for Preparers of Financial Statements. The role will also support the Institute’s CPD Trainings by developing concept notes, reviewing CPD points filled by members and preparing technical bulletins & guidance

    Job Specifications:
    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.

    Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional body

    • Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K)
    • Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)

    Work Experience:

    • At least 2 years’ work experience in a finance/audit related role.
