    Manager Corporate Partnerships

    Main responsibilities:

    • Builds capacity in network offices to develop and manage private sector partnerships, with specific emphasis on Africa.
    • Knowledge management and provision and coordination of training on tools, including the Corporate Engagement Guidelines, Corporate Database, and consistent best-practice protocols on developing and maximising impact of private sector partnerships.
    • Act as liaison to the WWF offices in (mostly) Africa and supports the Network on its day-to-day questions (due diligence, proposal advice etc)
    • Help Network to link and align partnerships with Practices, and to prepare high quality proposals ahead of GPC decision making.
    • Support Practices in including corporate engagement in their strategies, and be liaison between Practices and CE community.
    • In alignment with/upon request from Offices and Practices, represent WWF’s global external voice on corporate engagement.
    • Implements projects as mandated by the Global Partnerships Committee or Practices
    • Supports specific cross-territory partnerships as requested by the Practices and Network Offices

    Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

    • A university degree in business, marketing or social sciences;
    • At least 5 years of experience in marketing, business development and/or corporate fundraising, preferably in the private sector and in an international environment.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation and diplomatic skills;
    • Ability to relate convincingly and credibly with senior business executives;
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to work within a virtual network;
    • Ability to conceptualize and create products which link programme with business interests;
    • Strong interest in promoting sustainable practices within business;
    • Excellent command of English. Other language an asset;

    Director, Global Policy & Advocacy

    Main responsibilities:

    • Leads the development of an Annual Policy & Advocacy strategy and workplan that defines priorities and responsibilities, and is agreed by the Practice Leaders Forum
    • Leads and coordinates cross-cutting policy and advocacy work for the WWF network, as defined by the Policy & Advocacy annual workplan
    • Represents WWF in specific external multilateral dialogues and related intergovernmental conventions and institutions
    • Ensures co-ordinated, credible, relevant and professional participation in cross-cutting multi-lateral processes and forums
    • Supports the Global Conservation Director and the Practice Leaders Forum in helping to identify and prioritise major cross-cutting policy and advocacy opportunities and risk areas
    • Supports the Global Conservation Director and Practice Leaders to identify areas where potential policy conflicts could arise and where consistent policy or positions are required
    • Leads the development of needed policies and positions in conjunction with WWF network and partners in a highly consultative manner.
    • Ensure that the overall Global Conservation Strategy and Practice Strategies are informed by the most recent geo-political and policy information and trends
    • Co-ordinates shared learning amongst the Policy leads in the Practices
    • Leads and manages the WWF Global Policy & Advocacy team, and other network teams as appropriate
    • Develops and maintains diplomatic and other professional relationships at executive level in institutions, governments, CSOs and related bodies
    • Develops Strategic reports and plans as required
    • Develops and maintains an effective and efficient information management systems to support policy and advocacy work

    Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

    • University degree in policy, international relations or political, development or related studies and 15 years work experience at progressively higher levels of internal and external responsibility
    • Deep understanding of geopolitical and strategic relationships and behaviours, understanding of decision making at national, regional and multilateral levels, including the roles of actors, news and domestic and external pressures in decision making
    • Deep understanding of treaty and law making, including hard and soft law and of a number of key intergovernmental agreements across the topic areas
    • Constructive external political player and negotiator, able to create and maintain strategic, high level relationships
    • Ability to create multiple knowledge products across various media and platforms, build capacity and manage staff to influence high level decision making
    • Well-honed radar, ability to see over the horizon and take quick action to take opportunities or mitigate for upcoming problems
    • Capacity building with a particular focus on emerging economies and developing countries
    • Excellent team manager, project and budget design and delivery skills, ability to build capacity
    • Crisis management skills
    • High level analytical, strategic and advocacy skills
    • Leadership of small and often very large network teams covering a number of areas of work focus over the political, technical, communications, event showcasing and logistics portfolios
    • Decision making, sometimes under difficult and fast circumstances
    • Strategic planning, budgeting
    • Negotiation and advocacy skills
    • Remote office management
