    Theatre Technician

    Job Objective/Purpose

    Ensure the provision of high quality surgical services by maintaining and keeping the operating room ready for surgeries and assisting in preparing patients for surgery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Observations - Assist the anesthetist and theatre nurse in the recovery room to accurately take and record Temp., Pulse, Resp., B/P, etc., observe and record other vital signs and report changes or abnormalities in patient condition immediately
    • Patient management; 
      • Assist with the transfer of patients to theatre in time for operation 
      • Ensure smooth and safe transition of patient back to the ward from Recovery Room / Theatre
      • Ensure patients needs are met promptly
      • Ensure patients safety in a clean and tidy environment 
      • Documents and keep patients’ medical information confidential
    • Equipment management - Ensure all instruments are maintained, scrubbed and functional as per schedule and report any faulty equipment immediately
    • Maintain and enforce infection control standards per the hospital manual and observe the infection control bundles (SSI, VAP, CAUTI and CLABSI) where applicable.
    • Theatre Duties (Intra-Operation)
      • Set up individual machines for different operations, avail all necessary instruments, sutures/drugs and equipment, and ensure all gases are available before commencement of any operation
      • Assists the doctors and anaesthetist during the operation per AHC theatre policies
    • Ensure patients safety following the 6 International Patient Safety Goals (IPSGs). 
    • Observe and practice high quality of service through effective communication, prompt feedback and escalation of any unresolved issues. 
    • Ensure that Avenue Healthcare corporate governance policies are adhered to, including preventing, detecting, and reporting any fraud or criminal activities, and Implementing audit recommendations. 
    • Ensure adequate knowledge of and compliance to all Avenue Healthcare policies, procedures, and systems, especially policies pertaining to the provision of medical services
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor

    Personal Specifications

    • Diploma/Certificate in Theatre Technology from a recognized institution. 
    • At least 2 years’ experience working in a busy environment. 
    • Customer focus and results oriented
    • Strong interpersonal, communication skills . 
    • Strong team playing abilities
    • Highly responsive, ethical and responsible

    Phlebotomist

    Job Objective/Purpose

    Provide high quality laboratory diagnostic services in the hospital, as defined by Avenue Healthcare’s policies, protocols, procedures and standards

    Key Responsibilities

    • Confirm and identify patients correctly and label the collection containers with correct and pertinent patient information, in accordance with Avenue Group policies and procedures. 
    • Maintains a clean and presentable collection point / phlebotomy area, ensuring that all sample collection instruments and environments are sterile. 
    • Collect and handle samples carefully, following infection control Standards and lab procedures, including drawing urgent samples immediately for processing, all in accordance with Avenue Group policies and procedures. 
    • Conduct phlebotomy procedures on blood donors in accordance with Avenue Group policies and procedures. 
    •  Maintain and enforce infection control standards per the hospital manual and observe proper disposal of medical waste
    • Ensure patients safety following the 6 International Patient Safety Goals (IPSGs).
    • Ensure the unit is financially viable and demonstrate growth by managing costs and ensuring proper pre -authorization and documentation is done. 
    • Observe and practice high quality of service through effective communication, prompt feedback and escalation of any unresolved issues to the Laboratory Superintendent. 
    • Ensure that Avenue Healthcare corporate governance policies are adhered to, including preventing, detecting, and reporting any fraud or criminal activities, and Implementing audit recommendations. 
    • Ensure adequate knowledge of and compliance to all Avenue Healthcare policies, procedures, and systems, especially policies pertaining to the provision of medical services
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor

    Nursing Services Manager

    Job Objective/Purpose

    To manage Nursing Services by providing leadership in patient care, maintaining standards of care, and directing and developing staff, to ensure provision of highly professional nursing care and auxiliary services in the Hospital.

    Key Responsibilities

    • People Management; - Liaise with the HM/HR to ensure optimal staff levels, including reallocation of staff per staffing needs, as well as efficient use of overtimes and locums. 
      • Regular staff engagement and monthly staff meetings with documented evidence of attendance
      • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, orientation & development of nursing staff, including mentoring, coaching and developing the team. - Reward, recognition and discipline; ensure deserving staff are recognized and liaise with HR on disciplinary action without undue delay and per policy. 
      • Supervise all unit managers within the department. - Ensure that all the nurses have valid nursing practice licenses
      • Ensures all nurses accurately perform their procedures / tasks as assigned to them, including admission, discharge, drug administration, clinical observations, infection control, EMT duties and others, and lead performance appraisals. 
    • Ensure the unit is financially viable and demonstrate growth through; - Offering quality care to patients and ensuring good relationship with stakeholder - managing nursing costs within budget through appropriate staffing, managing accidents/incidences, and consumable management. - Supporting marketing events within the facilities
    • Ensuring the wards are fully and efficiently utilized depending on patient load and flows.
    • Nursing Services
    • Participate in formulation of, and ensure implementation of organizational and departmental policies and SOPs, Quality Indicator and QIPs. - Collaborate with Infection Control Team to maintain
    • and enforce infection control standards, and observe the infection control bundles (SSI, VAP, CAUTI and CLABSI). - Ensure all sentinel incidents/events are recorded and reported within 24 hours using the provided tools. - Take responsibility for ensuring maintenance of accurate records/ documentation for: patient notes and reviews, Nursing assessments, Follow up nursing care plan, and family and patient education. 
    • Equipment and Supplies Management - Ensure proper inventory and proper maintenance of all available equipment and other supplies (both medical & non-medical), on a daily basis, and ensure that they are in good working condition. 
    • Prepare daily/ periodic statistics/ reports for the HM
    • Ensure that Avenue Healthcare corporate governance policies are adhered to, including preventing, detecting, and reporting any fraud or criminal activities, and Implementing audit recommendations. 
    • Ensure adequate knowledge of and compliance to all Avenue Healthcare policies, procedures, and systems, especially policies pertaining to the provision of medical services
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor

    Personal Specifications

    • Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN) and/or BsN in Nursing
    • Valid certification in BLS, ACLS or ATLS
    • At least 10 years of nursing experience
    • At least 5 years of management experience
    • Prior experience managing a large team. 
    • Proven ability to enact policies and procedures
    • Customer focus and results oriented
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
