    Administrative Assistant

    Key Responsibilities

    Administrative & Digital Support

    • Manage day-to-day office tasks: filing, data entry, document management.
    • Handle internal/external correspondence (email, phone, physical mail).
    • Create and manage forms and shared digital tools as needed by HR/Admin and other departments.
    • Maintain digital systems (employee records, leave trackers, form repositories).
    • Handle internal and external communications professionally
    • Maintain physical and digital filing systems

    Contract Support and Documentation

    • Draft basic contracts (including for consultants, suppliers, and temporary staff),
    • Coordinate with the Projects team to ensure alignment on staff needs and deliverables.
    • Track contract timelines (renewals, expiries) and ensure documentation is complete.
    • Ensure proper filing and archiving of executed contracts (both soft and hard copy)

    Office & Operations Coordination

    •  Maintain inventory and order office supplies.
    • Coordinate office repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness.
    • Prepare reports and internal documents as needed.
    • Assist in organizing events, workshops, and handling travel logistics
    • Support HR with staff coordination tasks
    • Perform other clerical duties as needed

    Team & HR Support 

    • Support recruitment processes (scheduling interviews, processing onboarding documents).
    • Assist in internal event organization and staff welfare logistics.
    • Step in for the HR Manager in daily administrative tasks when they are unavailable
    • Assist with procurement, petty cash, and office supply management
    • Support HR with onboarding and offboarding

    Qualifications

    • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field
    • Proficiency in productivity and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Airtable, etc.)
    • Strong digital literacy and ability to quickly learn internal systems
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a busy office environment, preferably in an administrative or Executive Assistant role.
    • Experience in contracts administration or support is a plus
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

    Camera Operator / Videographer

    Key Responsibilities

    • Film high-quality video for investigative documentaries, news features, interviews, and events
    • Work closely with producers, reporters, and editors to plan and execute shoots
    • Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment in field and studio settings
    • Ensure proper framing, focus, exposure, and audio quality
    • Assist in setting up and breaking down gear on location
    • Maintain and care for all equipment assigned
    • Travel locally and occasionally regionally for assignments
    • Collaborate in post-production when needed (e.g., organizing footage, syncing audio)

    Requirements 

    • Proven experience as a camera operator or videographer
    • Proficiency with professional video cameras (e.g., Canon, Sony, Blackmagic, DSLR systems)
    • Familiarity with lighting setups and audio recording gear
    • A strong visual eye and attention to detail
    • Ability to work under pressure and in unpredictable environments
    • Strong understanding of journalistic ethics and sensitivity to filming in vulnerable contexts
    • Basic knowledge of video editing is a plus (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred)
    • Valid driver’s license is an added advantage

    Qualifications 

    • Certification in Film and Television Production (CBQ)
    • Training in BTS Audiovisual Production, Sound and Image Technology 
    • Certification in Communication, Media and Journalism or related courses is a plus

    Community Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and grow Africa Uncensored’s community of supporters, contributors, and collaborators
    • Facilitate meaningful engagement across platforms, including WhatsApp groups, newsletters, events, and forums
    • Plan and execute events, meetups, and community-led initiatives
    • Act as the main point of contact for community members, addressing questions, feedback, and disputes with care and professionalism
    • Monitor and moderate conversations to ensure a respectful, inclusive environment
    • Develop and manage communication materials and updates to keep community members informed and involved
    • Work closely with the editorial and partnerships teams to align community efforts with organizational goals
    • Use tools like Google Forms, WhatsApp, or bulk SMS platforms to manage communication and gather feedback

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
    • Proven experience as a Community Manager, group facilitator, or in a similar engagement-focused role
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with a high degree of emotional intelligence
    • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute events or campaigns
    • Comfortable using digital tools for communication and coordination
    • A passion for community-building and creating welcoming, inclusive spaces
    • A strong commitment to public interest, social justice, or independent media is a significant plus

    Video Editor

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assemble, organize and archive raw footage and completed projects,
    • Select scenes, add graphics, sound effects, subtitles, and transition
    • Edit raw footage into polished videos for broadcast and digital platforms, including investigative documentaries, short features, and social media content
    • Colour correct and sound mix videos to meet high editorial and technical standards
    • Collaborate with journalists, producers, directors, and other team members to understand, interpret and shape the desired outcome and creative vision
    • Incorporate music, dialogue, graphics, and effects to enhance the video content
    • Ensure consistency in style, colour grading, and overall quality of finished videos ∙
    • Manage video file formats and ensure final products meet technical specifications
    • Manage media assets and ensure organized file storage
    • Review and make revisions based on feedback from stakeholders
    • Keep up-to-date with the latest editing technologies and industry trends
    • Stay up to date with editing trends, tools, and techniques

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.
    • Strong understanding of video codecs, file formats, and post-production workflows.
    • Solid understanding of narrative structure, timing, and visual storytelling, excellent sense of timing, pacing, and visual storytelling.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment, delivering work within tight timelines and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Adaptability to changing priorities and editorial direction, coupled with strong attention to detail and editorial judgment.
    • Passion for impactful storytelling and social justice.
    • Degree or certification in film production, media, experience with motion graphics, color grading, or audio mixing a plus

    Work Experience

    • Proven work experience as a video editor (at least 2 years, preferably in a media/production house) with a strong portfolio.
    • Familiarity with investigative or documentary journalism is an advantage
