    Welder – Self Propelled Harvester (SPH/Valiant)

    Job Description

    The Welder – Self Propelled Harvester (SPH/Valiant) is responsible for proper and effective maintenance of the Self-Propelled Harvester in the Estate to ensure efficiency, highest safety standards and quality of tea and productivity is maximized. The objective of the role is to increase availability and reliability of SPH, minimize downtime and efficiency in utilization of the machines.

    Responsibilities & Accountabilities

    • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
    • Identify materials and determine the appropriate filler material type, size and quantities
    • Determine the appropriate welding equipment and method based on job requirements
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents and specifications
    • Carry out pre-weld preparation and controls while adhering to safety standards
    • Adherence to safety protocols and hot work permit requirements
    • Perform specific design fabrications and general repair welding, including load-bearing structures, pressurized structures/vessels, machinery and other components, including welding pieces and filling gaps as required
    • Fit and assemble metal parts, tools and sub-assemblies, including welding and brazing components
    • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
    • Service and maintain welding equipment, accessories, hand tools and portable tools
    • Deliver quality welds while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
    • Maintain an organized work area and ensure proper housekeeping
    • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to junior welders
    • Ensure compliance with applicable local and national Engineering codes and regulations
    • Complete assigned work within set deadlines and deliverables

    Job Requirements

    • Certificate in Mechanical Engineering
    • Holder of Government Trade Test in welding (electric and/or gas)
    • 3 Years’ relevant experience
    • Certificate in auto electrician and MVM will be an added advantage
    • Multiskilled driver (Classes B, C, E, G) will be an added advantage.

    Mechanic – Self Propelled Harvester (SPH/Valiant)

    Job Description

    The Mechanic – Self Propelled Harvester (SPH/Valiant) is responsible for proper and effective maintenance of the Self-Propelled Harvester in the Estate to ensure efficiency, highest safety standards and quality of tea and productivity is maximized. The objective of the role is to increase availability and reliability of SPH, minimize downtime and efficiency in utilization of the machines.

    Responsibilities & Accountabilities 

    • Carrying out trouble shooting of the SPH machines
    • Carrying out inspection and repairs of SPH machines
    • Maintain and update service records
    • Overhauling of SPH machines to the required standards
    • Dismantling and assembling of the SPH and equipment as required
    • Fitting new parts in motor vehicle and equipment as required
    • Carrying out comparative estimate cost of repairs and maintenance
    • Ensuring safe custody of spares, tools and equipment assigned
    • Keeping repair costs and analysis as required
    • Attending to emergency breakdowns outside
    • Participate in confirming only quality spare parts are fitted on the machine
    • Observing and complying with environmental, health and safety measures and regulations
    • Carrying out repair and maintenance of hydraulic systems of the machines
    • Carrying out simple welding and fabrication tasks on the machines
    • Train the SPH Operators on safe operating procedures while developing their technical capacities
    • Performing any other duty as may be assigned from time to time

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required 

    • Diploma in Automotive or MVM (Motor Vehicles Mechanics) or Mechanical Engineering – Plant option
    • 3 Years’ relevant experience

    Company Secretary

    Job Description

    The Company Secretary provides expert governance, compliance, and executive coordination support to the Board and senior management, ensuring the organization operates within all statutory and regulatory frameworks while upholding the highest standards of corporate governance. The role supports the CEO and Board in enabling timely decision-making, operational efficiency, and transparent stakeholder engagement, thereby strengthening overall organizational integrity and effectiveness.

    Responsibilities &  Accountabilities

    • Provide company secretarial services to the business and ensure proper governance across all entities
    • Oversee relevant audits required for compliance
    • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, reporting requirements and disclosures for listed companies
    • Prepare Board resolutions and minutes for Board meetings and Annual General Meetings (AGMs)
    • Advise the finance team on the reporting requirements and disclosures required under the Companies Act and other relevant laws
    • Organize the company and subsidiary’s Board meetings as well as Board Committee Meetings and AGMs
    • Ensure timely filing of Annual Returns, and resolutions related to appointment or resignation of Directors and Secretaries
    • Monitor and ensure the company and its subsidiaries is in good standing with Business Registration Services and ensure all the requisite corporate documents are up to date
    • Update Company Registers and manage the use of the Company Seal
    • Manage the CEO’s calendar, meetings, travel, correspondence, and priorities
    • Prepare briefing notes, reports, presentations, and executive communications
    • Screen and prioritize incoming communications to the CEO
    • Track execution of CEO directives and follow up with relevant departments
    • Monitor key business priorities and escalate risks, delays, or unresolved issues
    • Support the CEO in engagement with shareholders, investors, financial institutions, regulators, and other external stakeholders
    • Coordinate preparation of shareholder communications, annual reports, investor materials, and corporate presentations
    • Facilitate effective communication between the Board, management, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency
    • Strengthen corporate governance frameworks and ensure regulatory integrity
    • Enhance executive efficiency and decision execution
    • Promote accountability, transparency, and effective stakeholder relationships across the organization
    • Perform any other tasks assigned from time to time by management

    Job Requirements

    • Graduate of Law (LLB)
    • Minimum of 3 years’ company secretarial experience
    • Must be a member in good standing with the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK)
    • Valid practising certificate

    Draughtsman

    Job Description

    The Draughtsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by engineers and ensure their safety, back up as required, and update the documents as per requirements. The role involves translating concepts and designs into detailed drawings used for construction, manufacturing, or production and preparing bill of materials.  

    Responsibilities & Accountabilities

    • Prepare detailed technical drawings, layouts, and plans using CAD software for all Engineering disciplines
    • Interpret sketches, specifications, and design instructions from all Engineering disciplines
    • Modify and revise drawings as per project requirements and feedback
    • Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations
    • Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions
    • Quantity take-off and preparation of bills of quantities for project structures, machinery, and paved surfaces from working detailed drawings as directed.
    • Site supervision and contractor management on a regular basis to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements as directed
    • Ensure that materials delivered and used are approved and compliant with specifications

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications Required

    • Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
    • 3+ years of proven experience as a Draughtsman or CAD Technician.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/BricsCAD & ArchiCAD)
    • Strong understanding of technical drawings and drafting standards
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
    • Basic knowledge of construction, manufacturing, or engineering principles
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • Time management and ability to meet deadlines
