Job Overview

• The job holder serves as a Public Health Specialist supporting President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) activities for the implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of assigned public health program activities and studies.
• Job holder plays an essential role in developing annual program strategies, budgets, and drafts regular progress reports related to program activities. Job holder’s duties include technical support, advice and guidance, day-to-day program and administrative management and coordination and collaboration with colleagues of other agencies and public health entities that administer similar public health programs in Kenya. Job holder coordinates funding, report compliance and administrative recordkeeping with the implementing partners to assure projects are conducted in accordance with the implementing agreement and that USG funds are appropriately utilized. The position requires public health technical knowledge, results-oriented analytical skills, advocacy, and constant and clear communication with implementing partners, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and host country ministries responsible for public health HIV testing services programs.

Education Requirements:

Education

• Master’s degree, or host country equivalent, in public health, nursing, epidemiology, behavioral science, or counseling is required.

Job Knowledge:

• Detailed knowledge of current host country public health issues. Knowledge of general program design, implementation, and evaluation is also required. In-depth knowledge of various public health services including prevention, emergency response, care and treatment services, counseling and testing, interventions, behavior change, and treatment is required. Detailed knowledge of the host government health care system and structures, including familiarity with MOH policies, program priorities, and regulations is required. Good working knowledge of team management techniques to plan, organize and direct multi-disciplinary activities is required. Good working knowledge of overall administrative requirements, such as timelines and utilizing systems and databases, and processing requirements; budgeting and fiscal management in support of implementing grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts is required.

Job Overview

• The Service Desk Analyst (SDA) is the face of the Diplomatic Technology (DT) office and is responsible for front-line response to both internal and external customer queries, both in person at the service desk and through remote channels such as telephone, email, chat, and self-service request forms. As part of the DT systems support team, provide Tier 1 operational support to the customer, perform ticket triage, troubleshoot Tier 1 technical and multimedia issues, and handle resulting incidents and service requests using the incident management and request fulfillment processes in line with established targets and objectives. Perform limited systems administrator functions such as network and enterprise application account creation and management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex technical issues. Assist in network security measures and provides user education on information security best practices. Issue and manage loanable property, including laptops, radios, and tablets, and provide ad-hoc training to users. Participate in DT initiatives as assigned.

Duties

• The Immigrant Visa (IV) Assistant is responsible for all aspects of processing immigrant visas. This includes in-person intake and customer service to immigrant visa applicants, as well US citizen and foreign clients; collects applicant and petitioner documentation and prepares cases for officers to conduct interview and adjudication; administer the online IV appointment system, communicate with applicants, petitioners, and legal representatives on immigrant visa related issues; data entry into the computerized consular systems; performs quality assurance and printing of authorized visas; flags suspect documents or other fraud indicators for the Consular Officer and Fraud Prevention Unit staff, as appropriate; and maintains physical and electronic records, including sensitive PII, in accordance with Department's Disposition schedule and Consular Records policies. The job holder is fully cross trained to function in any role as required by visa demand and scheduling.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: 

• Minimum two years of experience involving the application of regulations and law, extensive public contact, customer service, and/or problem-solving experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

• Good understanding of local governmental organizations, immigration law and practices, and cultural and social practices.
