    Agronomist

    We are actively recruiting an Agronomist to support our client, a leading international development partner implementing a donor-funded programme, for an upcoming green project based in Baringo County. The role will support community-based, climate-smart, and regenerative agriculture interventions aimed at sustainable land and natural resource management.

    Location: Baringo County

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical leadership on sustainable agriculture, agroecology, and climate-smart farming practices
    • Support community mobilisation, awareness raising, and consensus-building with farmers and local stakeholders
    • Design and facilitate training sessions for farmers and county staff, including workshops and field demonstrations
    • Support rangeland management, rotational grazing systems, tree planting, nursery establishment, and management activities
    • Provide technical guidance on soil and water conservation and erosion control practices
    • Support implementation of agroforestry, horticulture, coffee, and forestry-related initiatives
    • Contribute to value chain development for agricultural and non-timber forest products and nature-based supply chains
    • Support monitoring of agricultural interventions and contribute to high-quality technical and narrative reports
    • Collaborate with contractors and project teams to ensure alignment between technical design and field implementation
    • Contribute to regenerative agriculture and carbon-related project components, where applicable

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in English and Swahili
    • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Food Systems, Agricultural Economics, Forestry, Agroforestry, or a related field
    • Strong background in community development and participatory approaches
    • Proven facilitation and training skills for farmers and county-level staff
    • Demonstrated expertise in rangeland management, rotational grazing, nursery establishment, soil and water conservation
    • Strong communication and technical reporting skills
    • Proven experience in agroecology and climate-smart agricultural practices
    • Experience in regenerative agriculture
    • Knowledge and experience in carbon trade or carbon-related agricultural projects
    • Experience in value chain development for agricultural or non-timber forest products
    • A Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience working on sustainable agriculture projects  (soil, water, and germplasm management).

    Administration Assistant

    The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with international organisations or private companies operating in East Africa.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Arrange appointments and manage schedules
    • Type, prepare, and format reports and correspondence
    • Organise workshops in coordination with programme staff
    • Act as a receptionist and first point of contact
    • File administrative and accounting documents and maintain an up-to-date filing system
    • Enter bookkeeping transactions into Excel books of accounts
    • Support the Finance Manager with administrative and logistical needs
    • Prepare, process, and follow up on administrative arrangements related to staff official travel
    • Support the Logistician in requesting quotations for supplies, works, and services
    • Assist in identifying equipment and stationery needs for the Project Management Unit (PMU) office
    • Support office management, document preparation, and archiving
    • Perform other administration-related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Relevant Diploma or Degree.
    • Advanced proficiency in English and Swahili both spoken and written.

    Civil Engineer

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support baseline surveys, beneficiary selection, planning, and data collection in collaboration with project team members
    • Plan, organise, and supervise implementation of soil and water conservation works, including contour ridges, semi-circular bunds, check dams, terraces, and water pans
    • Supervise contractors and train and oversee community working teams implementing erosion and runoff reduction measures under cash-for-work or asset-based modalities
    • Ensure technical quality and compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, BoQs, environmental standards, and safety requirements
    • Provide technical guidance and on-site supervision to contractors, site foremen, and community groups
    • Draft maintenance manuals for constructed or rehabilitated water and soil management infrastructure
    • Support preparation of work plans, BoQs, technical drawings, and contribute to tender evaluations and mobilisation of contractors and community groups
    • Monitor work progress, verify quantities, and prepare technical reports, including best practices, challenges, and lessons learned
    • Prepare technical documentation supporting payment clearances for cash-for-work activities
    • Engage with community representatives and local authorities to ensure inclusiveness, ownership, and long-term maintenance of completed structures
    • Ensure application of environmental and social safeguards, Prior Informed Consent (PIC), and gender-sensitive approaches at all work sites
    • Contribute to capacity building of community groups and local partners on sustainable land and water management techniques
    • Participate in field assessments, surveys, mapping, and impact monitoring activities

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in English and Swahili
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field
    • Proven experience in cash-for-work, asset-based, or labour-intensive community works
    • Strong experience in community engagement, mobilisation, and training delivery
    • Demonstrated expertise in supervising small-scale earth, stone, and concrete infrastructure works
    • Familiarity with hydrology, erosion control, watershed management, and sustainable land management practices
    • Knowledge of environmental and social safeguards and PIC approaches
    • Strong data collection and reporting skills, including use of GIS, Kobo, Excel, and similar tools
    • Excellent teamwork, communication, and coordination skills

    Logistician Driver

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor project vehicle maintenance needs and report issues to the Finance Manager
    • Ensure the Project Management Unit (PMU) office is well maintained and report logistical issues (electricity, cleaning, repairs, etc.)
    • Maintain a stationery stock database and inform the Administrative Assistant of replenishment needs
    • Verify and maintain PMU office furniture and IT equipment
    • Label PMU office equipment with project logos and identification numbers
    • Create and regularly update the PMU office inventory and equipment status
    • Maintain and update the supplier list, including accurate contact details
    • Support the organisation of project events in coordination with the PMU team
    • Drive project vehicles and schedule their usage
    • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and ensure consistency with actual usage
    • Ensure vehicles maintain adequate fuel levels and are road-ready at all times
    • Safely operate project vehicles, including 4x4s, in non-urban and field conditions
    • Verify availability of all required legal vehicle documentation before use
    • Perform any other logistical or driving duties as assigned by the Project or Finance Manager

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Valid driving licence
    • KCPE / KCSE Certificate.
    • Advanced proficiency in English and Swahili
    • Good knowledge of automotive mechanics
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Logistician/Driver
    • Experience working with international organisations or private companies active in East Africa

    Hydrologist

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical expertise on surface and subsurface hydrological processes in relation to soil, slope, land cover, and rainfall patterns
    • Support design, supervision, rehabilitation, and monitoring of soil and water conservation structures, including check dams, infiltration pits, contour bunds, terraces, and vegetative ridges
    • Collect, analyse, and interpret hydrological data (rainfall, runoff, sediment load, groundwater levels) to inform land and water management interventions
    • Support watershed and catchment-based planning in collaboration with contractors and project teams
    • Use GIS and remote sensing tools to support watershed delineation and erosion risk mapping
    • Integrate climate adaptation measures into natural resource management interventions
    • Collaborate closely with engineers, agronomists, county staff, and community facilitators to link natural resource protection with livelihood improvement
    • Prepare clear technical reports, maps, and data visualisations adapted for both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Support facilitation of workshops and delivery of training sessions for community groups and county-level stakeholders
    • Participate in field assessments, surveys, and monitoring activities to assess impact over time

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in English and Swahili
    • University degree in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field
    • Strong background in community-based programme development and participatory approaches
    • Sound knowledge of hydrological processes, rainfall–runoff relationships, infiltration dynamics, and soil–water interactions
    • Experience in hydrological data collection, analysis, and application to project design
    • Familiarity with GIS and remote sensing tools for watershed analysis and erosion risk mapping
    • Strong collaboration, communication, and reporting skills

    Professional Experience

    • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in watershed management, hydrological assessments, or catchment-based planning
    • Experience working in rural or agricultural landscapes
