    Consultant, Digital Systems and Reporting

    Key Responsibilities

    System Development and Digital enablement

    • Analyse the business need for the deal room and recommend the best fit solution. 
    • Design in collaboration with the Director Deal Room and oversee the implementation of digital tools for investment pipeline management and deal room operations. 
    • Incorporate emerging technologies (i.e AI) in the system design to process diverse data sources and simplify workflows. 
    • Support investment tracking platforms and ensure accessibility, user-centric design and security of the deal room tools 
    • Support integration and interoperability of system tools with other government data sources and stakeholder platforms or user interfaces 

    Reporting and Analytics

    • Support the Director Deal Room on dashboard design and iteration exercises to align with pre-agreed KPI’s, documented bottleneck and deal progression stages
    • Generate real-time insights from system data to support strategic decision making for deal room operations, cross-functional coordination with deal owners (sector leads) and the Investment Committee preparedness
    • Prepare routine and on-demand analytical reports for key internal stakeholders and relevant public sector actors for active strategic deals in project mode
    • Coordinate with Pipeline managers and analysts at the deal room to ensure consistent data

    Operational Coordination

    • Support coordination of cross government tasks teams by availing up to date data and system status reports
    • Ensure consistent data input for effective pipeline management such as clear escalation paths and targeted interventions

    Capacity Building and Knowledge Management

    • Train deal room staff on use of new digital tools and system including ad-hock iterations that support deal room coordination with key stakeholders. 
    • Document system operational routines, user guides and workflows
    • Support delivery culture formation through continuous collecting of user feedback and adaptation to deal room tools

    Required Competencies

    • Outcome focused and agile project and people management capabilities; creative and resourceful problem-solver with a can-do attitude  
    • Strong analytical skills, including great comfort with business financials and data  
    • Business acumen: a good understanding of private sector, quick to comprehend industry dynamics and trends
    • Strong written & spoken communication skills: able to produce high-quality reports and executive level presentations.

    Director, Deal Room

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic leadership and governance

    • Define and execute the Deal Room strategy, aligned with national development goals on Investment acceleration. 
    • Drive the institutionalisation of the Deal Room’s core functions - including strategic deal triage, project progression, problem-solving, incentive design, and policy engagement 
    • Serve as Secretariat to an Investment Committee, including preparation of briefings, tracking of actions, and follow-through on resolutions 

    Operational management and delivery

    • Oversee and coordinate a team of up to ten, including TBI embedded advisors and government secondees, setting team priorities, coaching team members on how to progress deals effectively, and fostering a results-oriented, agile, and collaborative culture 
    • Lead the team in operationalising and iterating processes, delivery routines, and tools to deliver on the Deal Room’s core functions (e.g., project pipeline tracking, escalation protocols, deal structuring frameworks) 
    • Set and drive performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) at both strategic and operational levels, focusing on pipeline progression, investment value, and bottleneck resolution 
    • Oversee Deal Room interventions on strategic deals that require bespoke government support, including deal prioritisation, project development, project progression and problem-solving, design and negotiation of tailored incentives and support packages and/or investor performance requirements, cross-government coordination, and escalation and follow-up of bottlenecks that require the attention through the Deal Room’s escalation mechanisms 
    • Oversee the Deal Room’s pipeline intelligence function to track and analyse deal pipeline through fit-for-purpose tools and processes 

    Stakeholder engagement and resource mobilisation

    • Serve as a trusted advisor on high-impact investment opportunities, constraints, and solutions 
    • Lead investor engagement, acting as the senior relationship holder for the most strategic and sensitive investors and deals 
    • Engage senior government officials with pipeline insights and deal needs, while partnering with the client to mobilise cross-sector resources that enhance the Deal Room’s delivery and strategic impact 
    • Forge alliances for change across government, business and ecosystem stakeholders to address policy and regulatory bottlenecks to the realisation of strategic investments 

    Required competencies

    • Demonstrated experience leading agile, outcome-oriented teams in complex environments in the public or private sector (e.g., delivery units, special economic zones, investment taskforces, public-private dialogue platforms, or companies) 
    • Experience in government delivery units, investment agencies, transaction shops, or leading consultancies is desirable 
    • Strong credibility and networks across government, investors, and development partners 
    • Strategic thinker with strong political economy instincts, problem-solving mindset, and business acumen 
    • Expertise in investment promotion and facilitation, preferably in emerging markets 
    • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to operate at the highest levels of public and private sector engagement 
    • Experience in project development and incentive design

    Deputy Director, Green Deals

    Key Responsibilities

    • Pipeline delivery and deal progression
    • Drive proactive engagement with deal owners/sector leads, investors and relevant ministries to understand deal context, requirements and barriers requiring unlocks 
    • Coordinate and operationalise the deal lifecycle from triaging, structuring to clear hand-offs with deal owners 
    • Apply standardised frameworks and tools to increase quality deals through evaluation, qualification and prioritisation. 
    • Monitor and manage each deal’s movement through milestone levels and ensure clear hand-offs for investment implementation or closure. 
    • Operational management and delivery
    • Supervise strategic deals managers and analysts providing guidance to ensure high-quality outputs supported by standard operating procedures, common user tracker, dashboards and tools. 
    • Track performance using pre-agreed KPI’s, timelines and escalation protocols in alignment with the Director Deal Room role of secretariat to the Investment Committee. 
    • Develop and lead pipeline intelligence function which supports decision making, investor dialogues, negotiation preparations and institutional performance reviews 
    • Prepare requests and briefs for escalation and Issue resolution 
    • Institutionalise learning by distilling insights from deal facilitation into reusable resources.

    • Set clear agenda and provide high-level troubleshooting to support institutional and inter-ministerial unlocks. 
    • Strategically engage national, county governments, development partners, investors and Technical TBI expertise towards tailored deal support packages, policy and regulatory reforms, incentives, off-take agreements and co-investment structuring. 
    •  Generate key pipeline deal insights and identify key resources to achieve strategic impact. 
    • Carry out relevant duties assigned by the Director Deal Room to advance strategic investments in collaboration with TBI.  

    Required Competencies

    • Experience in private sector leadership, especially in investment-heavy or project-financed environments, as well as regulatory experience and delivery track record 
    • Hands-on experience in deal structuring 
    • Familiarity with green investment and climate-aligned finance 
    • Prior experience working in Kenya or East Africa is a strong advantage 
    • Understanding of and working experience with the Government of Kenya 
    • Proficiency in Swahili is desirable
