    Country Director

    YOUR MISSION:

    • Under the responsibility of the HI’s Emergency Manager, the Country Director contributes within his/her geographical area to the implementation of the mandate and the Strategy of Humanity & Inclusion. He/she ensures optimal quality and impact of the activities in the Program, through a delegation system with appropriate control mechanisms. He/she shares with all HI managers the responsibility of sound management and successful functioning of the global organization.
    • In line with the current project objectives, the Country Director will lead the successful program management from Nairobi with regular travels to Sudan when possible. S/he will ensure sound monitoring of the project in line with the expected outcomes of the project. With a strong link with the national partner, s/he will act as the partnership focal point with the implementing partner in Sudan, making sure that the partnership agreements are applied, and the collaboration is smooth between HI team and the partner.

    Through Management, Strategy and Steering, Operational Implementation and Representation, Influence and Leadership :

    • The Country Director- Sudan is the legal representative of the overall HI’s Sudan response internally and externally and promotes a high reputation and positive image of HI’s Sudan Program.
    • The Country Director deploys HI’s full mandate and Strategy in her/his geographical area, with operational partners, institutions and/or donors.
    • In his/her geographical area, s/he ensures compliance with his/her budget framework (including unrestricted funds) and HI policies and frameworks (safeguarding, commitment thresholds, security, human resources, risk management, etc.)
    • In his/her geographical area, actively monitors and analyses context developments, to identify risks and opportunities.

    CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:

    • Humanity & Inclusion (HI) and a national NGO has started a project in Sudan. Due to the administrative constraints to obtain visas in Sudan and pending registration approval the HI team are based in Nairobi, providing remote support to the national partners. Depending on VISA approval, HI team will travel to Sudan for field and monitoring visits. The project includes physical and functional rehabilitation, MHPSS, Protection and Inclusive Humanitarian Action activities.

    YOUR PROFILE:

    Educational background and experience:

    • At least 5 years’ experience at key management positions within international organizations
    • Management experience in humanitarian, security, and emergency programs
    • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
    • Ability to work under high pressure and without constant supervision.
    • Motivated by constant program adaptation to an evolving context and set up of partnerships with local and international partners.
    • Excellent organisational skills, coordination, and transfer of knowledge.
    • Excellent communication skills and commitment to teamwork.
    • Ability to travel and work in a tense and volatile context with strict security measures.
    • Proven experience in negotiations with institutional donors, project writing and reporting.
    • Shows accountability, leadership, diplomacy and pragmatism.
    • English mandatory (oral and written)

    Information Management Officer – National Staff

    Responsibilities:

    Responsibility 1: Information Management Systems Implementation and Integration

    • Implement, exploit, and develop information management systems including mobile data collection, databases, visualization tools/dashboards, geographic information systems (GIS), and indicator production.
    • Archive data sets and ensure coherence and integration of these systems according to the Information Management (IM) policy and framework.

    Responsibility 2: Data Quality Assurance and Compliance

    • Train teams responsible for data collection and processing (both within the organization and with partners).
    • Establish procedures for quality control and information flow definition.
    • Ensure adherence to internal data management standards.
    • Facilitate data transfer exercises between headquarters and field offices.

    Mission 2: Operational Implementation

    Responsibility 1: Support Operational Teams with Data Analysis and Utilization

    • Generate visualizations and analyses of statistics as per project and program requirements.
    • Assist operational teams in interpreting data for decision-making.
    • Disseminate data internally and externally using appropriate communication formats.

    Responsibility 2: Ensure Protection of Beneficiary Personal Data

    • Conduct impact analyses of data protection on programs.
    • Coordinate implementation of operational procedures and action plans to reinforce data protection.
    • Train/sensitize program teams on data protection best practices.
    • Ensure security of databases.

    Responsibility 3: Contribution to External Representation and Promotion

    • Represent HI's IM expertise in relevant networks within the geographical area of intervention.

    Mission 3: Emergency Preparedness and Response

    • Contribute to the program's emergency preparedness actions.
    • Adapt working methods in emergencies to contribute to effective humanitarian approaches by HI.

    Your Profile:

    Educational Background and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, IT specializing in data management/information management, or related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of NGO work experience, preferably as an Information Management Officer, MEAL Officer, or M&E Officer.
    • Experience with data sharing, management, and analysis supporting policy formulation and implementation.
    • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, or similar tools for pivot tables, graphs, and charts creation.

    Professional Competencies:

    • Monitoring results and indicators.
    • Coordination of qualitative and quantitative surveys and dissemination of findings.
    • Project evaluation.
    • Accountability to populations with participatory, non-discriminatory, and responsible approaches.
    • Learning lessons from experience and continuous learning.
    • Information management strategy, data structuring, and quality assurance.
    • Quantitative and qualitative data collection, qualitative analysis.

    • Solid knowledge of MS Office suite.

    • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
