    Finance Officer-ACSL

    Position in the organisation

    • As a Finance officer, in the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL), you contribute to this ambition and these values by taking initiative whenever necessary to ensure the implementation of high-quality management of financial resources at the VVOB country office
    • The Finance Officer reports to the Operations Manager. You are part of and work closely together with members of the operations team under the ACSL programme. Furthermore, you work closely together with the other departments in your country

    Result areas of this position:

    • You provide accounting and administrative support to ACSL programmes, including bookkeeping, reconciliations and reporting.
    • You regularly book invoices and journals to the accounting system (Navision)
    • You make timely payments to staff, partners and service providers (including Revenue Authority) using online banking platforms (EFT and mobile money) and review the cash position of local bank accounts.
    • You support monthly bank, cash and supplier reconciliation processes.
    • You administer workshop budgets and support the operations teams with contract management and inventory asset lists.
    • You facilitate continuous improvement of VVOB’s financial & accounting processes and knowledge sharing.

    Operations and Procurement Officer_ACSL

    Position in the organisation

    • As an operations and procurement Officer you contribute to this ambition and these values by taking initiative whenever necessary to provide quality administrative and logistical support to the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) You provide technical and guidance on this domain within VVOB and outside.
    • The operations and procurement Officer reports to the Operations Manager. 
    • You are part of and work closely together with members of the operations team in VVOB Kenya and African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) in particular

    Result areas of this position:

    • You provide administrative and logistical support to the African Centre for School Leadership- (ACSL) project and other projects on a need basis, including procurement of services, travel arrangements for field activities, arranging meeting venues and training materials, and communicating progress to relevant team members and external partners.
    • You prepare budget and fund requests for project training activities together with the team and address them to the Operations Manager.
    • You ensure good project administration, and preparation of invitation letters, including managing project materials and supplies, file management (E-folders on MS TEAMS and SharePoint), and other related tasks and you indicate areas for improvement where relevant.
    • You support the procurement, logistics and administration of workshops and capacity-building activities for external partners.
    • You maintain a tracker of key action points agreed upon at project meetings and disseminate the progress of implementation.
    • You prepare timely payment request for suppliers and partners, preparation of purchase orders and workshop budgets, submission of workshop reports, and any other required project reports.
    • You participate in the ACSL project throughout the Continuous Professional development process as well as in different TPD models such as field work for classroom observation and teacher coaching and reporting and documenting on reflection results.
    • You comply with VVOB’s internal procurement, financial and related policies, and guidelines in the execution of your tasks.

    Accountant- Acsl

    Position in the organisation

    • As Accountant you contribute to this ambition and these values by taking initiative whenever necessary to ensure the high-quality management of financial resources at the VVOB country office.
    • The accountant reports to the Operations manager. You are part of the operations and finance unit and work closely with your direct colleagues in the finance team. Furthermore, you work closely together with all other departments within your country and the finance department at HQ (or with other country teams.)
    • As Accountant You are part of and work closely together with members of the operations team in VVOB Kenya and African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL) in particular

    Result areas of this position:

    • Review all payment processes on a weekly and monthly basis.
    • You ensure proper and timely update of the accounting system (Navision) and timely collection of good quality accounting documentation according to the latest financial guidelines.
    • Review all procurement processes for all programmes and projects to ensure accuracy in the use of budgetlines and account codes, donor compliance and reporting requirements.
    • You pro-actively provide information and support to the program team and relevant partners to improve the accounting system and to develop the capacity of them in the field of accounting and accounting requirements.
    • You coordinate and supervise the compliance and correct implementation of financial guidelines and procedures.
    • You facilitate continuous improvement of VVOB’s financial & accounting processes and knowledge sharing.
    • You are responsible for informing the management on the status of the accounting system, including critical issues, and you identify areas for improvement in the accounting system and processes.

    Strategic Education Advisor Blended Learning- Acsl

    Position in the organisation

    • As Strategic Education Advisor Blended Learning in the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL), you contribute to the ambition and values of ACSL by being a key person on scaling school leadership initiatives in Africa through blended modalities (combining in-person and remote/online modalities). You provide technical and strategic advice and guidance on this domain within VVOB and outside.
    • Reporting to the ACSL Technical Lead, based in Kenya, you work in close collaboration with the Global and Strategic Advisors and Regional Coordinator, and with VVOB and ACSL partners at regional and country levels.

    Result areas of this position:

    • Design and develop relevant and scalable school leadership initiatives in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, focusing on blended and online delivery of school leadership professional development initiatives.
    • Provide both short- and long-term strategic advice, information, and guidance to VVOB and ACSL’s partners on scaling, in line with policy trends, technological developments and the latest research and thinking in education and international development.
    • Take up a variety of roles in capacity development processes of partners and beneficiaries according to the needs, particular situations, and phases of the programmes.
    • Create and manage partnerships and strong networks with relevant partners, institutions, and organisations on scaling school leadership initiatives at pan-African level.
    • Represent VVOB and ACSL in relevant scaling platforms and proactively look for synergies and complementarities.
    • Contribute to internal and external knowledge development and learning, by systemising lessons learned and proactively sharing lessons learned between partners, colleagues and other VVOB country teams and ACSL partners.
    • Support the ACSL Communication and Advocacy team on developing content for communication (e.g., website, video, social media…) and contribute to the dissemination of findings and results (e.g., international conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events) on scaling school leadership initiatives.
