    Financial Accountant - Kenya

    • Are you a financial accountant who is passionate about financial solutions, leadership in supporting the finance team and general operations in a busy environment that offer required solutions to the team and entire business processes in an efficient and effective manner? We are looking for someone with mid-level experience in financial accountant to support the finance team. As a financial accountant, you shall be expected to support DHL Supply Chain, Kenya in providing Financial, Audit and Tax leadership for the country.

    About The Role Key Duties And Responsibilities

    • This is a support position to the DHL Supply Chain Kenya Finance in providing Financial, Audit and Tax leadership for the country.
    • Responsible for the countries Financial Accounting Ledger Reporting and Reconciliations.
    • Adherence to tax laws, Ledger reconciliation and preparation of tax returns.
    • Responsible for Tax Administration, these includes payments.
    • Support the Finance Manager with Internal Controls.
    • Adherence to group financial reporting guidelines.
    • Training the finance team on group financial reporting.
    • Working Capital Management, External & internal audit co-ordination.
    • Drive compliance awareness in country.
    • Ensure Compliance with all Local statutory accounting rules and regulations, Group Accounting policies and procedures and other Compliance driven policies and procedures.
    • East Africa Treasury Management, Bank reconciliations, Co-ordinating with SSC on timely Billing, allocation of collections and timely payments of suppliers and cashflow management.
    • Responsible for Country Balance sheet reconciliations as per Group guidelines, IFRS and Local GAAP.
    • Tax Management for Kenya.
    • Custodian of Finance SOPs, ensure regular revision to adopt to current operating environment.
    • You may be required to undertake other duties as necessitated by business needs that may not be part of the responsibilities outlined in this role profile.

    About You

    • Bachelor’s degree in commerce – Accounting option.
    • Qualified Professional Accounts (ACCA, CPA, CA).
    • Minimum 5 years of experience.
    • Knowledge of an ERP system.
    • Project management (From a finance perspective).
    • Track record of strong P&L understanding.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Well organized individual and results oriented.

    Graduate Management Trainee - Operations

    Commercial Controller - Kenya

    • Are you a financial expert who is passionate about financial solutions, leadership in supporting the finance team and general operations in a busy environment that offer required solutions to the team and entire business processes in an efficient and effective manner? We are looking for someone with mid-level experience in finance. As a Commercial controller, you shall be at the center-stage of ensuring that key financial reports and accounting data are captured well and submitted at the right time for informed decision-making by the management.

    About The Role Key Duties And Responsibilities

    • Co-ordinate necessary and appropriate accounting data and procedures for the maintenance and preparation of commercial reports for decision making while providing necessary commercial guidance for Kenya as a country.
    • Provide overall financial leadership to the business and to support Operations managers in Operations Finance related matters and providing operational metrics.
    • Provides a tracker and advises on deviations of the budgets from actuals.
    • Responsible for timely invoicing and delivery to clients, collections of debtors and follow-up of aged outstanding receivables.
    • Co-ordinates and ensures timely and accurate monthly ledger financial reporting of Operational results.
    • Appraise Operating results of the month against budgets, Forecasts and advise on appropriate action plans.
    • Actively participates in all Projects related to new business contract acquisition.
    • Active participation in the Strategic planning and coordination of the Risk management processes.
    • Defines financial strategy for country (Kenya) and develop approach to Commercial opportunities to ensure long term profitability coordinate variance reporting to previous plans.
    • Training and development of team to ensure succession plan and continuity.
    • Facilitates financial reviews with Business Units Managers for the monthly performance.
    • Checking and ensuring an effective operational processes and processes safeguarding and appropriate internal controls in place are followed and implemented.
    • Facilitates and coordinates timely and accurate financial records for General Ledger.

    About You

    • Professional Accounting qualification with relevant registration (ACCA / CIMA)
    • Bachelor’s degree in commerce – Finance/Accounting options.
    • Master’s degree in any business-related field is an added advantage.
    • Minimum 7 - 10 years' experience in a management position in Finance with increased responsibility.
    • Proven experience in the management of a team in finance disciplines.
    • General experience in Finance and Accounting in a multi-national will be a distinct advantage.
    • Understanding and practical experience of Supply Chain and Contract Logistics will be a distinct advantage.
    • Knowledge of the statutory and operating environments in Kenya, Uganda is a distinct advantage.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Well organized individual and results oriented.
