    Mason- Thika

    Responsible for crafting and constructing various stone, brick, or concrete structures as well as carryout structural repairs on client premises. Attention to detail, proficiency in masonry techniques, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship are essential for success in this role Key Duties/ Responsibilities.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Masonry work and preparation

    • Prepare materials such as stone, brick, concrete, and mortar for use in masonry projects. Cut, shape, and size materials according to design specifications.
    • Assemble and construct masonry structures, including walls, arches, columns, and decorative features, using appropriate techniques such as laying bricks or stones, applying mortar, and levelling surfaces.
    • Finish surfaces of completed structures to achieve desired textures and appearances. Use tools such as trowels, brushes, and chisels to shape and refine surfaces

    Maintenance and Repair.

    • Perform regular inspections of existing masonry structures and surfaces to identify needed repairs.
    • Repair and restore damaged or deteriorating masonry work.
    • Clean and maintain masonry tools and equipment.

    Quality Control:

    • Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, ensuring that they meet design specifications, structural requirements, and industry standards. Make adjustments or repairs as necessary.

    Safety Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries during masonry operations.
    • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the safety of self and others in the workshop.
    • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the Workshop Supervisor or Safety Officer.
    • Report any incidents, accidents or near misses to the authorities for appropriate action.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of masonry work performed, including materials used & hours worked

    Collaboration and communication

    • Work closely with other workshop personnel to coordinate activities and ensure project timelines are met.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise.

    Key Outputs/Deliverables/KPIs

    Masonry work & preparation.

    • Work Completion Rate: 100% of masonry tasks completed on time as per the project schedule.
    • Material Utilization Efficiency: effective use of materials with minimal waste as per set standards.
    • Preparation Time: Time taken to prepare materials and work area before starting a task as per set standards.

    Maintenance and Repair

    • Time taken to Response Time to Repairs as per set standards.
    • Repair Completion Rate: 100% percentage of repair tasks completed on schedule
    • Repeat Repairs: The number of repairs that need to be redone within a certain period as per set schedule

    Quality Control

    • Customer Satisfaction: Average score of Feedback from clients or supervisors on the quality of completed masonry work as per set schedule

    Safety Compliance

    • Safety Incident Rate: zero safety incidents or near misses reported.
    • PPE Compliance: 100% Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
    • Safety Training Attendance: 100% Participation in required safety training sessions.

    Documentation and Reporting

    • Proper documentation of work performed including parts used and hours worked.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Government trade test in masonry (Artisan Grade 1)
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mason in construction or a workshop setting
    • Proficiency in laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry units.
    • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
    • Knowledge of masonry materials, tools, and techniques.
    • Basic mathematical skills for measuring and calculating materials.
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

    Plumber- Thika

    As a Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in the plant & buildings. Your role will involve ensuring that plumbing systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Installations:

    • Install and assemble piping systems, fittings, and fixtures according to blueprints, specifications, and plumbing codes.
    • Set up and install water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and showers.
    • Ensure proper alignment, placement, and support of pipes, valves, and fixtures

    Repairs & Maintenance:

    • Diagnose plumbing issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
    • Fix leaks, clogs, and other plumbing problems promptly and efficiently.
    • Conduct routine maintenance to prevent future issues and prolong the lifespan of plumbing systems.
    • Inspect plumbing systems, components, and fixtures to identify and address potential problems

    Safety & Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries during masonry operations.
    • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the safety of self and others in the workshop.

    • Report any issues, concerns, or deviations from plans or specifications to appropriate personnel

    Installations:

    • Monitor the time taken to complete plumbing tasks or projects. Efficient completion times demonstrate productivity and effective time management skills.
    • Evaluate the quality of plumbing workmanship through inspections, audits, or customer feedback. High-quality work is essential for ensuring the longevity and reliability of plumbing systems.

    Repairs & Maintenance:

    • Track the time it takes for the plumber to respond to service requests or emergencies. Aim for prompt response times to demonstrate reliability and responsiveness.
    • Measure the percentage of plumbing issues resolved on the first visit without the need for follow-up appointments.
    • Zero Leakages of steam in plant, compressed air and water

    Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards in all plumbing work. Track any violations or corrective actions needed to maintain compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations during plumbing tasks.
    • Number of accidents, incidents & near misses

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Number & quality of reports generated.
    • Frequency of reporting to the supervisor

    Production Line Technician- Thika

    The Shift electrician technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components of industrial machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Installation and Maintenance:

    • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and components of tobacco machinery and equipment.
    • Perform routine electrical inspections, electrical online tasks and preventive maintenance to ensure machines operates efficiently and safely.
    • Troubleshoot electrical issues and repair or replace faulty components as needed
    • Line manning of the shift during production to achieve zero downtime

    Electrical Systems:

    • Interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation to identify and resolve electrical problems.
    • Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
    • Upgrade electrical systems to improve performance, efficiency, and safety.

    Safety Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing electrical work, including lockout/tagout LOTOTO procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
    • Conduct safety inspections and recommend improvements to mitigate electrical hazards.

    Installation and Maintenance:

    • Reduced downtime through vigilant line manning
    • Percentage of electrical issues resolved without the need for follow-up visits or rework.
    • Reduction in repeat electrical failures over time.
    • Performing work at height tasks where need is needed

    Electrical Systems:

    • Average duration of downtime per incident.
    • Average time taken to respond to electrical maintenance breakdowns.
    • Percentage of urgent electrical issues addressed within a specified timeframe.
    • Mean Time between Failures (MTBF) for electrical components or systems.
    • Improvement in equipment reliability over time.

    Reporting & Documentation

    Maintain accurate records of production activities and other issues arising and also prepare reports on the production line and performance and make recommendations for improvement

    Safety Compliance:

    • Reporting number of electrical safety incidents or near misses.
    • Compliance with safety protocols and regulations during shift work.
