    Demand Planning Manager

    About The Role

    The role of the DP manager will mainly focus on providing an accurate demand plan to guide the Business. This position will work directly with OPS, on the operational demand plan by Sku/Brand/Category/Class/Sub-Class in order to align with the company strategy. The role will directly support the Sales & Operations Planning process through the weekly and monthly Demand Planning Meetings. They will work cross functionally with Marketing, Sales, Finance and Procurement to help achieve high forecast accuracy. Providing aggregate and monthly Forecasts that will drive the Supply Chain to meet Sales and Customer Service objectives.

    About You

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop the operations forecast for multiple time horizons. Provide guidance to demand planners, in data analysis, to identify forecast adjustments.
    • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data and evaluate forecast variances versus actual demand. Provide corrective actions.
    • Monitor key forecast metrics with the objective to continuously reduce forecast error.
    • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and then refine the forecast to reflect updated Sales and Marketing assumptions.
    • Interact with Sales and Marketing to understand demand forecast drivers.
    • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Service to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand inputs into the operations forecast.
    • Liaison to the Finance Department in updating the Long Range Plan (LRP) assumptions.
    • Continuous improvement for demand planning processes and systems.
    • Report Key KPI’s and root cause/create plan of action at the SKU level

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years experience in Demand Planning/Forecasting preferred
    • Knowledge of forecasting softwares and SAP systems preferred or other ERP system.
    • Proficient in PC skills, especially MS Office, Excel is a must.
    • Familiarity with FMCG, especially commodities, perishable products products and key classes of general trade across EAC

    Supply Planner

    The role of the SP will mainly focus on providing an accurate Supply plan to guide the Sourcing and procurement Teams. This position will work directly with OPS, on the Supply Plans by Sku/Brand/Category/Class/Sub-Class in order to meet customer demand as per the company strategy. The role will directly support the Sales & Operations Planning process through weekly and monthly Planning Meetings. They will work cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Logistics, Finance, Sourcing and Procurement to help achieve accurate Supply plans that meet a high level of customer service and optimizes Working capital and FC Pallet footprints utilization.

    About You

    To succeed in this role you must have:

    • Develop the monthly and weekly Supply plans based on demand plans.
    • Liaise with FC managers and procurement team on weekly call-off quantity.
    • Monitor key Supply metrics with the objective of continuously reducing supply Issues.
    • Interact with Sourcing and Procurement to understand supply constraints and Plan for tier 2 or alternate products.
    • Ensure that the weekly SKU supply mix optimizes the HUB GP1
    • Proactively advise the Demand planning manager on future supply for key SKUs for accuracy in planning and alignment with key stakeholders
    • Continuously Monitor and report on the stocks Health – Freshness, ageing and Coverage
    • Liaison with the Logistics Department on any projected Space constraints.
    • Continuous improvement for Supply planning processes and systems.
    • Report Key KPIs and root cause/create a plan of action at the SKU level.

    Requirements:

    • 3+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Planning

    Head of Platform Operations

    Skills / Experience

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • Comfortable creating roadmaps prioritized by impact and effort and maintaining a balance between thought and action.
    • Product/engineering + Business knowledge for prioritizing basic effort and impact
    • Knowledge of the eCommerce business and stack, best practices, competitive benchmarking, UX research and basic design
    • A working understanding of public stacks, libraries and tools available that can help us hack together solutions fast [vs. always building ground up]
    • Excellent cross-functional working relationships and matrix navigation, often using influence to lead
    • Knowledge of the Wasoko business and stack is helpful
    • Comfortable with ambiguity, o to 1 build, capability to see the big picture and the transition from now to then

    Key KPI’s

    • Coordinate inputs for the drafting of the 2023 roadmap for a] merchant app b] backend tools c] BI & reporting; to be revised every quarter
    • Execution of the agreed roadmap, flagging & escalating delays, implementation of workarounds to mitigate business impact
    • Scoping and specing a] Fraud engine b] Loyalty c] Freelancer flows and new asks from time to time
    • Build an experiment setup and governance for measurement and improvement of UX [search, browse, properties [e.g. deals, trending, recommended etc.] ranking, in-app merchandising, notifications, off-app notifications e.g. SMS, Whatsapp etc.
    • Overall outcome metrics e.g. GMV / Customer, Session Conversion [GMV / Session, checkout / app-open], Funnel Conversion [10D FT2T, Churn from X% to Y%], user activity [CIB/EIB, MAU/EIB, DAU/MAU etc.] and flag edge-cases for RCA.
    • Be the control tower on everything that changes and impacts customer traction or experience on the app.
