Job Purpose

To lead and oversee the organization's security function and Security Control Tower, providing proactive physical and remote security monitoring across all assigned Royal Mabati Factory Limited and Heritage Mabati premises and fleet operations. The Security Manager will protect employees, contractors, visitors, company assets, raw materials, finished goods, vehicles and facilities through effective security coverage, remote monitoring, access control, surveillance, incident response, risk management and emergency preparedness, while coordinating security service providers and working with Operations, Fleet, Loss Control, HSE, HR, ICT and other relevant functions.

Job Description

Security Strategy, Policies & Procedures

• Develop, implement and periodically review security policies, standards, post orders and emergency response procedures.
• Establish security protocols covering employees, contractors, visitors, drivers, suppliers, vehicles, materials, finished goods and restricted areas.
• Promote security awareness and recommend improvements based on risk assessments, incidents, trends and operational changes.

Physical Security Operations

• Oversee security operations and planned coverage across all assigned sites, offices, factories, warehouses, yards and other vulnerable locations.
• Monitor patrols, guard deployment, post compliance and response to alarms, emergencies and security incidents.
• Conduct routine site inspections and ensure identified physical security gaps are recorded, escalated and addressed.

Security Personnel & Contractor Management

• Manage the performance of outsourced security providers and monitor compliance with agreed service levels, deployment plans and contractual requirements.
• Monitor guard attendance, deployment, discipline, grooming, training, post instructions and operational readiness.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews with the security service provider and recommend corrective action for non-performance.

Security control tower and remote monitoring

• Lead the operation of the Security Control Tower as the central point for remote security monitoring across all assigned company sites and fleet operations.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, access-control systems, fleet tracking, dashcams, fuel-monitoring systems and other approved security technologies.
• Establish and maintain defined alert thresholds, escalation procedures and response timelines for security, fleet and asset-related exceptions.
• Monitor security exceptions including unauthorised access, route deviations, suspicious vehicle activity, abnormal fuel consumption, tampering and other identified risks, and coordinate timely response.
• Validate and assess alerts, where practicable, before escalation and ensure appropriate incidents are logged and tracked to closure.

Access, Gate & Visitor Management

• Oversee employee, contractor, visitor, driver and supplier access procedures, including identification and authorization requirements.
• Control entry and exit points, keys, access cards, gate passes and restricted areas in accordance with approved procedures.
• Ensure appropriate controls are applied to vehicles, loading and dispatch areas, material movements and otherhigh-risk access points.

CCTV, Alarm & Electronic Security Systems

• Oversee the operation, monitoring and availability of CCTV, alarms, electronic access control and other security technology.
• Identify blind spots, technical vulnerabilities and system gaps and coordinate corrective action with ICT andapproved service providers.
• Ensure appropriate footage retention, retrieval and controlled access to security records.

Security Risk Assessment & Loss Prevention

• Conduct scheduled security risk assessments, inspections and audits across assigned sites to identify threats, vulnerabilities and unsafe security conditions.
• Develop practical mitigation measures to prevent theft, unauthorized access, vandalism, intrusion and other security losses.
• Track security risks and corrective actions to closure and provide management with escalation reports formaterial or recurring risks.

Incident Response & Investigation

• Coordinate response to security breaches, theft, vandalism, unauthorized access and other security incidents, preserving relevant evidence where appropriate.
• Review CCTV footage, access records, patrol records, statements and other available information when conducting security investigations.
• Prepare investigation reports identifying facts, contributing factors and recommended corrective/preventive actions, while coordinating with Loss Control, HR, HSE, Operations or law enforcement where the matter fallswithin their mandate.

Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Response

• Develop and test security-related emergency response procedures and coordinate scheduled drills andsimulations.
• Support evacuation, crisis and business continuity arrangements from a security perspective.
• Liaise with police, fire, medical and other emergency services during critical incidents and maintain appropriate emergency contacts.

Security, Fire & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure security operations comply with applicable Kenyan security requirements and approved company policies.
• Support fire and occupational safety requirements within the security function and coordinate with the responsible HSE/Fire Safety function on specialist matters.
• Maintain required security registers, records and documentation for internal review and audit purposes.

Security Resources, Budget & Administration

• Prepare and manage the security department budget within approved limits and ensure efficient use of security resources.
• Monitor security equipment, uniforms, communication devices, access-control assets and other operational resources.
• Validate security service deployment and supporting records for management review and service-provider performance monitoring.

Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement

• Submit timely security, incident, risk and contractor-performance reports to management.
• Maintain accurate registers for incidents, patrols, visitors, access violations, investigations, security risks and corrective actions.
• Analyse security trends and recommend operational improvements to reduce recurring incidents and vulnerabilities.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Operations and Site/Factory Management on security requirements and site controls.
• Coordinate with HR on people-related matters arising from security incidents and with Loss Control on matters involving loss prevention or operational controls.
• Coordinate with ICT on electronic security systems and with HSE on safety, fire and emergency preparednessmatters.
• Escalate material security risks, incidents and unresolved control weaknesses through the approved managementstructure.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminology, Security Studies, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPP, PSP, CSMP or an equivalent security qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive security experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisoryrole within a multi-site, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, commercial or comparable operationalenvironment.
• Demonstrated experience in physical security operations, security contractor management, incident investigation, electronic security systems and emergency planning.
• Working knowledge of applicable Kenyan security, safety and emergency-response requirements.

Job Purpose

To assist the engineering team in the design, analysis, and evaluation of roofing and structural systems while gaining hands-on experience in project coordination, material assessment, and compliance with industry standards. The intern will contribute to ongoing projects by supporting the development of efficient, safe, and innovative roofing and building solutions.

Job Description

Design & Drafting Support

• Assist in preparing shop drawings, and layouts for roofing structures.
• Support structural design and modeling tasks using software such as VertexBD, Tekla Structures, and Bentley RAM Systems under supervision.
• Participate in calculations, design, analysis and detailing as guided by senior engineers.

Project Coordination

• Assist in scheduling, documentation, and communication for ongoing projects.
• Liaise with projects stakeholders and internal departments to ensure timely flow of technical information.
• Help prepare project reports and design documentation.

Site Support & Inspection

• Participate in site visits to collect field data, perform basic measurements, and observe construction processes.
• Assist in monitoring the quality and structural conformity of ongoing construction works.
• Document observations and report issues to the supervising engineer for corrective action.

 Research & Development

• Support in evaluating new roofing materials and technologies for efficiency and sustainability.
• Conduct literature and market reviews on structural innovations and industry best practices.
• Contribute ideas for optimizing design efficiency and reducing material waste.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain organized records of drawings, calculations, and project correspondence.
• Support preparation of documentation for regulatory compliance and building approvals.
• Observe adherence to company and statutory safety and engineering standards.

• Work closely with senior engineers to understand real-world applications of structural design principles.
• Participate in on-the-job training sessions on software, design standards, and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma (final year or recent graduate) in Civil Engineering & Structural Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of building standards (Eurocodes, and National Building Code).
• Industrial attachment or academic project experience in design or construction is an added advantage.
• Awareness of roofing systems and Light Gauge Steel structure design.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Exposure to design, analysis and detailing software (Tekla Strcutures, STAAD.Pro, or VertexBD).
