    Global HR Business Partner

    • The Global HR Business Partner will partner with CI’s global HR Network to ensure consistent delivery of CI’s HR programs globally. Delivering hands-on project management, this position serves as an international and technical resource and possesses a sound understanding and appreciation of the cultural diversity in each of our regions, including the Americas, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
    • Supporting a globally dispersed staff, this position will coordinate and partner with CI’s HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and Learning & Development teams, leveraging their global view to ensure that HR services, recruitments, projects, and programs support a global organization.
    • Reporting to the Senior Director, HR Global Delivery and Administration, this position will project manage and facilitate global HR processes and programs to ensure the organization successfully recruits, onboard, and manages a growing staff needed to deliver on CI’s overall conservation objectives.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop a strong, consultative partnership with global HR Business Partners and local HR, clearly communicating throughout projects and processes.
    • Partner with the Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and Learning & Development teams, ensuring a global view and consistent delivery of HR programs.
    • Co-lead HR programs with the HR Specialist, including CI’s annual performance management, mid-year, and bi-annual promotion processes, ensuring that all materials, timelines, communications, information sessions, and training are reflective of global staff needs.
    • Partner with US hiring managers in recruiting and hiring in our regional field offices, ensuring clear communication with HRBPs and local HR in the areas of compensation and hiring processes.
    • Partner on the development and ongoing management of global, regional, and local orientation and onboarding efforts to ensure that all CI staff have a consistent new hire experience.
    • Support global compensation projects such as merit for global staff reporting into US divisions, ensuring consistent process and delivery.
    • Act as liaison with CI’s global offices, scheduling and facilitating global HR network meetings.
    • Update and maintain a resource library with global HR resources, including local benefits packages, onboarding procedures, HR contacts, etc.
    • Lead or participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of select global HR projects
    • Deliver critical soft skills, policy, and topical training to ensure employees, managers, and teams have resources, tools, and support career development needs, including performance management, goal setting, promotion process, DEI, and other related programs and processes.
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure that regional and country recruitment efforts are aligned and supporting CI’s global recruitment strategy, leading on select sourcing and recruitment efforts to acquire top diverse talent to meet current and future global hiring needs.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • International travel is required not to exceed 10% of the time.
    • The position requires the ability to work non-traditional and extended hours to support a global workforce in multiple time zones.
    • This position follows a hybrid work structure, working some days from the office and some remotely. Guidance will be shared during the interview process.
    • For EU candidates, they should be EU nationals or have a valid work permit in Belgium.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

    • A Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of Human Resources experience in an international setting or any similar combination of education and experience.
    • Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including staffing, recruiting, performance management, talent development and training in a global setting.
    • Proven project management skills across a dispersed and matrixed team.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships across cultures and position levels
    • Persuasive and engaging communication, presentation, training, and facilitation skills to clearly convey objectives to diverse audiences and stakeholders.

    Preferred

    • Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems
    • SPHR, GPHR, CIPD, or other HR professional certification preferred
    • Experience working in an international non-profit organization
    • Proficiency in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French

    Manager, Conservation Scaling and Engagement

    • Working within the Moore Center for Science’s (MCS) Social Science Team as the Conservation Scaling and Engagement Manger, you will work with a diverse interdisciplinary team on the scalability of NCS actions across various scales, socio-political contexts and regions. Your role involves rapid screening, detailed analysis, and actionable recommendations for scaling NCS actions based on cutting-edge theory and data from theories of scaling, economics, and the broader social sciences. Additionally, you will support and/or lead collaboration and communication efforts with CI teams worldwide to support the delivery of NCS actions on-the-ground at the speed and scale necessary to accelerate progress towards a net zero emissions land sector by 2030.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Strategic Research Leadership in Scaling for Conservation - Lead the development and execution of scaling research and engagement strategies, ensuring their alignment with CI's goals and priorities, including the objectives of the Natural Climate Solutions Roadmap. This pivotal role involves coordinating and implementing practical approaches that drive the scaling of conservation innovations.
    • Knowledge Dissemination and Policy Engagement - Develop or co-develop research products, tools, and materials to inform decision-making and policy development in the field of scaling science, including opportunities for policy engagement events, working groups, and partnerships, both within and beyond CI.
    • Collaborative Research - Co-lead the planning and implementation of collaborative research programs, partnerships, and projects related to Conservation Scaling and Engagement, with a particular focus on the broader domain of Social Sciences.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration - Act as the primary representative for scaling research, and fostering collaboration and partnerships both internally and externally. Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate the documentation, mapping, and interpretation of adoption patterns and trends in conservation innovations.
    • Team Management - Identify staffing needs, participate in the hiring process, and potentially supervise interns, research coordinators, and/or graduate research students. Provide guidance and support in key responsibilities to foster growth and excellence of people – our key asset.
    • Fundraising Support - Support fundraising efforts by identifying opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and managing received funds effectively to advance scaling research initiatives.
    • Reporting Excellence - Responsible for both financial and programmatic reporting to donors, as well as other internal and external stakeholders. Maintain transparency and accountability in reporting mechanisms.
    • Other Duties - Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to the success of the MCS Strategy and CI's mission.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Work is performed in a typical office environment.
    • Some travel – up to 25% - may be required.
    • Flexibility in the work schedule (occasional night and weekend work) may be necessary in order to accommodate time differences between HQ and the regions.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, conservation biology, social sciences, or a related field.
    • 4-6 years of work experience in scientific research and/or managing conservation or research projects or initiatives.
    • Up to 2 years of experience supervising others.
    • Proven ability in successfully interpreting and applying scientific information, data, models, and approaches to achieve practical results.
    • Proven track record in managing projects.
    • Demonstrated scientific writing experience, including scientific reports and/or publications.
    • Proven ability to work in a team environment and work well across cultures as well as within and across organizations.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
    • Proficient in software systems, terminology, and procedures and skilled in using new software applications.

    Preferred

    • Advanced degree/Ph.D. or related experience in a social science (economics, sociology, human geography, political science, etc.) or an interdisciplinary Ph.D. with substantial social science training.
    • Proficiency with both qualitative and quantitative approaches to social science.
    • Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., R, STATA, SPSS, SAS).
    • GIS and spatial analytic skills.
    • Social science field research experience, preferably in the global majority.
    • Strong multidisciplinary and trans-disciplinarity skills, including proficiency in articulating evidence-based policy recommendations.
    • Conservation Scaling experience and expertise.
    • Experience working with communities and stakeholder engagement.
    • Working knowledge of one or more additional languages commonly spoken in the tropics. Ability to speak language(s) other than English preferable.
    • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
    • Experience developing tools (e.g., household surveys,), use of survey software, and delivering trainings, preferably in multicultural contexts.
    • Proven ability in mentoring peers in relation with the development of conceptual frameworks as well as data analysis methodologies.
