    Job Purpose:

    The Head of Agency Business is responsible for strategy, development and growth of agency business. She/He is also responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs within the department that support the organizations overall strategic direction.

    Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

    • Responsible for business development in agency.
    • Responsible for Agency P&L Management.
    • In charge of strategy and execution for the purpose of agency business growth.
    • Establish key relationships, ensure continued relationship management and value maximization.
    • Oversee all agency business initiatives within the department.
    • Perform periodic reviews and drive performance of agency business.
    • Conduct Market research to identify competitive information on new developments in the market.
    • Bring new Agency verticals to market by analysing proposed product requirements and product development programs.
    • Team leadership, coaching and mentorship
    • In charge of quality, compliance and audit issue closures related to agency business.Key advisor to business on developmental issues towards agency growth.

    Qualifications

    Data Quality Analyst


    Job Purpose:  

    The Data Quality Analyst will manage and oversee the development and operations of the data quality management program and coordinate the management of internal and external audit processes including maintaining global data quality standards. The role holder will also analyse the various internal processes within the bank that afftect data and provide a process approach to identify, measure, control and improve data quality across all core systems and ultimately lead to improved business performance.

    Qualifications

     Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

    • Support data quality strategic direction by undertaking objective, systematic analysis and deduce accurate conclusions based on evidence.
    • Identify data quality problems and work towards resolving them by thinking laterally, and identifying and implementing improved work practices.
    • Achieve data quality results through follow-up of projects through to completion, monitoring project progress, managing priorities, committing to achieving quality outcomes, adhering to documentation procedures, and seeking feedback from stakeholders to gauge satisfaction.
    • Support productive working relationships by building and sustaining positive relationships with team members, stakeholders and clients, and being responsive to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
    • Display personal drive and integrity by taking responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing work, showing initiative to do what is required, and committing energy and drive to see that goals are achieved.
    • Communicate the data quality agenda across bank fluently and confidently presenting in a clear, concise and articulate manner, focusing on key points and using appropriate, unambiguous language, selecting the most appropriate medium for conveying information, and structuring written and oral communication to ensure clarity.
    • Incorporate the bank’s data quality management policies into the planning, building and running domains of enterprise IT, as well as conducting a monitoring role to assess adherence to the policies.
    • Recommend corrective action plans and improvements in the resolution of non-compliance with standards detected through monitoring and auditing of processes and procedures

    • Must have obtained quality oriented certification such as Certified Six Sigma Certification, Certified Manager of Quality, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer, or Certified ISO 9000 professional (Foundation, Auditor, Implementer, Master). Any database administration certification will be an added advantage.
    • At least five (5) years of quality analysis experience and/or relevant vendor certification.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and multiple initiatives coupled with the ability to synthesize and analyze diverse data and information, develop and recommend strategies.
    • Ability to think creatively with a strategic perspective, highly driven and self-motivated
    • Analytical with good project management and team leadership skills.
    • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
    • Knowledge in the use of notable data management tools.

    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    • Able to work on weekends, or extended hours
    • The position requires participation in an on-call rotation and off-hours/weekend.
    • Have strong communication skills to address customer phone calls and email inquiries
    • High personal standards and goal oriented.
    • Willing to learn how to navigate new software systems and attend training
    • Excellent communications skills, good listener, team player, positive attitude is a must.
    • Able to keep a good relation with customers. Flexible and cooperative
    • Able to work under pressure, tolerate stress and be quality orientated
    • Ability to carry out integrations through completion of System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing.

    Data Privacy Manager

    Job Purpose:  

    The Data Privacy Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Bank’s data protection strategy and its implementation to ensure compliance with various Data Protection Laws across the the diffrent jurisdiction that the bank operates. The role will work closely with Leadership of IT Security, Legal, Risk and Compliance functions.

    Qualifications
     
    Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

    • Implementing measures and a privacy governance framework to manage data handling and use in compliance with the all relevant privacy laws that Equity bank has to be compliant with across the region
    • Working with key internal stakeholders in the review of projects to ensure compliance with local data privacy laws, and where necessary, complete and advise on privacy impact assessments
    • Serving as the primary point of contact and liaison for the Data Commission Office and other Data Protection Authorities within the jurisdisctions that Equity bank operates in.
    • Serving as the primary point of contact for queries in the business in regards to data Protection and Privacy.
    • Reviewing Equity vendor contracts and consents needed to implement projects in partnership with the Bank’s Legal and Information Security functions, and ensuring filing requirements with local regulators are achieved
    • Ensure fulfilment data Subject rights arising from the various touch points the bank has with the customer.
    • Developing policies, standards and procedures that align to the requirements set out in the GDPR, Data Protection Act and any localization requirements in countries of operation
    • Collaborating with the Information Security function to raise employee awareness of data privacy and security issues, and providing training on the subject matter across the group.
    • Monitoring performance and providing advice on the impact of data protection efforts across the bank.
    • Maintaining comprehensive records of all data processing activities conducted by the bank and group, including the purpose of all processing activities, which must be made public on request.
    • Interfacing with Equity Bank customers  to inform them about how their data is being used, their Rights and what measures the company has put in place to protect their personal information.
    • Collaborating with the Bank’s Information Security and Legal functions to maintain records of all data assets, ensure data classification and maintaining a data security incident management plan to ensure timely remediation of incidents, security breachs, complaints and claims.

    • 5 years experience, preferably in Legal, compliance, IT Security or Risk management related role.
    • Proven relationship with executive management and communication skills.
    • Extensive Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Reasonable understanding of the principles, practices, and techniques related to Information Risk Management.
    • Knowledge of relevant Data Protection Laws such as GDPR, Kenya Data Protection Act, Rwanda Data Protection Act, Uganda Data Protection Acts and POPI Act.
    • Knowledge of wider aspects of risk control, operations and processes.
    • Detailed understanding of the Risk assessment processes.
