    Financial Services Associate (Machakos)

    Role: Financial Services Associate
    About you

    You are responsible for the execution of Sokowatch’s Financial Services strategy in Kenya. You are the owner of the Sokowatch Financial Services product delivery targets including working capital financing, asset financing, insurance and other financial products to come.

    You are charged with training, developing and retaining a world class financial services team delivering effective KYC, sales, credit administration and collections.

By crafting a suite of services/financial products that not only meets the needs of our customers but also enhances their earnings potential, Sokowatch will become an indispensable long-term partner for our customers.

    Our strategy is to provide a world class customer experience with regards to accessing basic financial services through effective education and signaling that allows our customers to graduate to more sophisticated financial products. In the long-run, these more sophisticated financial products will be the profit engine of the financial services business

    Key Responsibilities;

    • Capacity to recruit & manage clients including KYC, usage, retention and repayment
    • Managing customers directly and in liaison with the sales team to ensure
    • Growth
    • Ensure they order the set number of SKUs and grow their SKUs per order
    • Ensure they grow Average Revenue Per User MoM
    • Ensure on-time repayment of credit with capacity to escalated collections
    • Daily follow up of overdue invoices through phone calls and field visitations
    • Developing Pay plans / Promise to Pay database with elaborate follow ups
    • Ensure a thorough KYC process by conducting a verification exercise for all new clients and capturing relevant information in systems for decision making
    • Conduct customer education to all new and existing clients to ensure adherence to Sokowatch credit terms and communicate any changes of policy
    • Handle all customer and agents complaints within the credit portfolio
    • Any other duties may be assigned

    Qualifications

    • Diploma in a Business related course
    • Proven work experience in credit management
    • Good understanding of lending procedures & credit related laws
    • 2-4 years of credit experience
    • Be willing to regularly travel to customer sites
    • Have considerable experience with customer negotiations

    Bookkeeper (Machakos)

    • Match purchase orders with invoices, delivery notes, goods received notes
    • Liaise with the supplier relations team to confirm that contract terms have been satisfied prior to processing payment
    • Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments and credit notes on the accounting system
    • Verify cash and inventory numbers on accounting system
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax declarations, including payroll, operating and business taxes
    • Prepare payables reports and other financial and analytical reports for review by management

    Requirements:

    The successful candidate will possess:

    • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in retail, at a company with over $100,000 USD in annual turnover, or at a leading regional or international accounting firm
    • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; CPA a plus but not required
    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills, preferably Quickbooks
    • An enthusiastic team player and strong interpersonal skills.

    Private Label Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    Private Label Product Development

    • Stay abreast of market trends and innovation to elaborate action plans, maintain Private Label brand’s strategy and develop Private Label range answering Customer Demand.
    • Validates development plan prioritization to maximize resources, and sales potential.
    • Identify and propose product development opportunities, along with targeted KPIs online with Private Label and Brands strategies.
    • Oversee sourcing, development, negotiation and launch of Private Label products aligned with development plans in a timely manner.
    • Ensure Private Label items meets local sales targets and profit goals by negotiating the best purchase conditions and optimum Logistic Flows.
    • Ensure the respect of deadlines during Private Label development process by coordinating with all stakeholders to secure items’ planned launch dates

    Launch and After Launch follow up

    • Follow-up on the manufacturing and launch of new private label products in the stores
    • Coordinate with suppliers and collaborate with procurement team to ensure the stock availability for relevant Private Label products

    Coordination with Internal Stakeholders across territories

    • Coordinate and align with all stakeholders internally Private Label development plans, strategies, action plans.

    Policies and Procedures

    • Develop, standardize and implement a procedure for record keeping to support the organizations goals
    • Ensure Private Label items are complying with policies related to Wasoko, Private Label and regulation.

    Human Capital Responsibilities

    • Ensure the implementation of Wasoko’s policies and relevant procedures
    • Coach, train, mentor, assist and motivates teams to enhance performance and produce quality work while ensuring they are continuously developed for higher level roles and achieve results.

    Financial Responsibilities

    • Ensure alignment of procedures in accordance with the Delegation of Authority (DOA)
    • Assist in monitoring allocated budget to ensure compliance and highlight possible issues
    • Provide inputs on the preparation of budget when necessary
    • Provide inputs on cost reduction measures

    Key skills and competencies

    • Preferred 3+ years of experience in a similar role
    • Bachelor degree, preferably in Business Management, Economics, or a Related Field
    • Expertise in Private Label Management and/or Product Development

    Private Label Quality Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategy and Planning

    • Implement the private label quality & sustainability strategy and procedures for Wasoko.
    • Ensure compliance of the private label products with the regulation and standards in line with high quality standards and guidelines.

    New Product development

    • Follow product development steps to ensure delivery of PL product as per development plan.
    • Organize technical processes, collecting and processing information to meet the development schedule.
    • Validate the technical specifications along with supportive technical documents of selected products and its compliance with applicable regulation.
    • Organize for the supplier approval audit in order to approve the manufacturing sites.
    • Validate all packaging information, Label artwork & print proof to ensure its compliance with applicable regulation and standards.

    Quality Follow up & Products control

    • Ensure compliance of all PL products with the local regulation & follow up on any updates.
    • Prepare, plan, execute and follow up all supplier Audits and product control plan for existing items.

    Communication and Reporting

    • Coordinate reporting and communication flow at all levels both internally and externally.

    Head of Security

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement Sokowatch’s Security strategy & framework.
    • Develop and implement protocols, policies and procedures to maintain security standards
    • Ensure all premises are properly equipped and staff are trained on emergency response
    • Identify, and assess security and safety risks in premises, activities & processes of Sokowatch’s Operations.
    • Report and investigate incidents and liaise with internal audit, people operations and the relevant external authorities and follow through to completion.
    • Create reports for management on security status
    • Advise the company on the impact of emerging security and safety issues and its impact on Sokowatch’s overall activities.

    Requirements

    Graphic Designer

    Key Responsibilities

    • Define and create a visual identity as an extension of the brand (logo, illustrations, icons, colors, typography, animations, etc.)
    • Design or redesign an identity for a product, a brand…
    • Lead the design process for packaging materials for products, including brainstorming, sketching and creating prototypes
