The UN-Habitat Urban Lab: Social Inclusion and Human Rights internship is for 5-6 months depending on the needs of the Organization'
The Internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
Responsibilities
The intern will work under the direct supervision of an Urban Planning Expert from the Urban Planning, Finance and Economy Section and will assist in development of the social inclusion and human rights agenda activities of the Urban Practices Branch as well as other Sections and units in UN-Habitat. The specific positions offered for the interns are:
The intern will;
Assist in the definition and implementation of the social inclusion and human rights activities and outputs, such as mainstreaming social inclusion and human rights in the urban planning methodology, development of socially inclusive projects and tools, documentation and evaluation of practice,organization of workshops and meetings and preparation of field missions and scoping missions.

Education
Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
Preferred Area Of Study: Social studies, Human Rights Law, Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Architecture, Geography (Master or PhD candidate preferable).
Work Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the Programme. Are you a student in a Bachelor's (final year), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have you completed a Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent?
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English language is required and knowledge of French is desirable.
