    Pharmaceutical Technologists (Locum)

    Pharmaceutical Technologists (Locum)

    Location: Kisumu, Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho, Busia, Homabay, Kapsabet, Migori, Bomet and Narok

    The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting good pharmacy practices, promoting patient satisfaction and overall quality care.

    Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the successful candidate will provide both quality pharmacy services and healthcare.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from KMTC or equivalent from a recognized institution.
    • Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board
    • Over one year working experience in a busy pharmacy.
    • Over one year in inventory control and management
    • Knowledge in Computer Packages will be an added advantage.

    Laboratory Assistant (Locum)

    Vacancy No: AKHK/MDPD/006

    Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will support technical and administrative processes in the laboratory to ensure smooth flow of service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Effectively manage laboratory supplies to ensure availability, efficient use and minimal stock variances.
    • Dispatch samples for outsourced testing in a timely manner and maintain related records.
    • Maintain laboratory archives and relevant records.
    • Assist in microbiology media preparation and sterilization of laboratory apparatus and waste.
    • Perform general front office and messenger duties.

    Qualifications

    • Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution in Kenya.
    • At least one year working experience in a similar position.
    • Good organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent computer skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.

    Laboratory Technologists (Locum)

    Locations: Kisumu, Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho, Busia, Homabay, Kapsabet, Migori, Bomet And Narok

    Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing documentation, processing patient’s samples, ensuring timely dispatch of results and maintaining records as per the AKHK laboratory policy.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Receive and process specimens, release patients result and archive specimens as per laboratory procedures.
    • Maintain relevant equipment in terms of routine maintenance, calibration, and quality control.
    • Participate in proficiency testing and other quality assurance programs.
    • Create and maintain documents and records as required in the laboratory.
    • Select, bleed donors, and prepare blood and blood products for transfusion as per laboratory procedures.
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures including but not limited to those related to safety and infection control.

    Requirements

    • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
    • Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
    • Excellent knowledge of laboratory operations and procedures.
    • Excellent knowledge and experience in microbiology.
    • Ability to write and review SOPs.
    • Excellent computer skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.
    • Minimum three years working experience in a busy medical laboratory.
    • Knowledge and experience in ISO 15189 Standard is desirable.
    • Possession of a Phlebotomy certificate will be an added advantage.
    • Registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board with a current practice license is mandatory.

    Radiographers / Sonographers (Locum)

    Locations: Kisumu, Bungoma, Kakamega, Migori, Narok, Homabay & Kisii

    Vacancy No: AKHK/MDRD/L/003

    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, efficient, high quality diagnostic imaging services to both inpatient and outpatients through the use of modern imaging technology that includes computerized X-ray machine and multi probe ultrasound unit.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To undertake initial patient evaluation, provide diagnostic radiographs, perform ultrasound and Doppler examinations by capturing images of diagnostic value.
    • Ensure radiation safety measures and protection are observed to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety to patient’s staff and self.
    • Ensure scheduled maintenance, and calibration of medical equipments are in place and followed.
    • Ensure accurate documentation and care of patients’ records.

    Qualifications

    • Higher Diploma in Ultrasound.
    • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences.
    • Two (2) years of working experience in a similar position.
    • Registered and licensed by The Kenya Radiation Protection Board.
    • Good communication skills.
