    Mortician

    Job Objective/Purpose

    Prepare and restore deceased bodies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure collection and transport the bodies of the deceased to the morgue. 
    • Ensure all equipment required for procedures in the morgue are in good state of repair / function
    • Preserve all bodies in a good state using appropriate techniques including but not limited to embalming and refrigeration
    • Organize and facilitate appropriate disposal of fetal bodies in time with an honorable way.
    • Provide support and excellent customer service for relatives who have kin in the morgue
    • Ensure cleanliness and fumigation of the morgue 
    • Assist Pathologists in post-mortem procedures
    • Preparing bodies for burial including but not limited to cleaning, restoration, and dressing
    • Collection of morgue shrouds.
    • Read, understand and be conversant with all systems, policies and procedures as outlined in the Hospital Manual especially policies pertaining to provision of medical services.
    • Review and act on quality indicator reports
    • Ensure all sentinel incidents/events are recorded and reported within 24 hours using the provided tools
    • Maintain and enforce infection control standards per the hospital manual and observe the infection control bundles (SSI, VAP, CAUTI and CLABSI) where applicable.

    Personal Specifications

    • Certificate in mortuary studies
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    Medical Records Officer

    Key Responsibilities

    • Cataloguing and maintaining proper patient records OP/ IP.
    • Ensuring systematic filing of all patient records to allow for easy retrieval 
    • Protecting the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
    • Maintaining a log of all files that are requested noting which department / Manager they have been dispatched to, the date and ensures / follows up for their return.
    • Retrieving and dispatching patient cards / files as and when required. 
    • Ensuring that archiving of old files is done
    • Ensure proper disposal of medical records per the organization’s policies.
    • Maintain a record of patients’ statutory documents (D1, B2).
    • Prepare and maintain periodic Ministry of Health reports
    • Keep statistics of cost of treatment, top disease patterns.
    • Maintaining, recording, analyzing, interpreting and disseminating data on specific cases which will be used prepare statistical reports (monthly, quarterly and annual) on patient statistics per location, disease trends, mortality, bed occupancy)
    • Compiling the Annual Health Statistical Report 
    • Any other duty as assigned by your supervisor in line with the job description. 

    Personal Specifications

    • Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology
    • Valid licence from the Health Records and Information Managers Board 
    • 2 years’ experience in a hospital setting

    Operating Theatres Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervision of theatre staff and their work, including preparing duty rosters
    • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, confidentiality, privacy and checklists in place for safe and high-quality care
    • Daily planning and efficient implementation of Theatre schedule
    • Oversee pre- to post-operative care to ensure safe surgeries and excellent outcomes
    • Participate or assist in surgical procedures – laparoscopic and complex procedures
    • Build strong relationships with theatre users, including surgeons and anesthetists
    • Oversee the day case admission desk and client experience operations, including booking, discharge, and addressing patient, families, and doctor concerns.
    • Proactively work with other departmental heads to improve services
    • Stewardship of theatre equipment, instruments, and infrastructure, maintaining an inventory, proper usage, storage and ensuring preventing maintenance 
    • Supervise sterilization services and other infection control and prevention measures
    • Stock management of theatre consumables
    • Maintain accurate records and registers, including billings, incidents, patient notes and surgical cases
    • Participate in formulating operating theatre processes and procedures, budgets, and guiding investments into theatre services.
    • Monitor fiscal budget to control operational and capital expenditures to improve unit productivity
    • Lead the implementation of all quality improvement initiatives and risk management programs 
    • Coaching and developing new and existing staff, transforming quality, and instilling good theatre practices.
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description

    Personal Specifications

    • BSc. Nursing or KRN, KRM, KRCHN
    • Higher diploma in perioperative training (KRPON)
    • BLS and ACLS certification
    • Endoscopy /laparoscopy training

    Senior Procurement Officer

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver on the Avenue Group strategic procurement initiatives and roll out the procurement plan with the support of the CFO and senior leadership team.
    • Develop key processes, procedures, and work templates to ensure continuous improvement and adhere to the best practice standards.
    • Foster savings by using the procurement levers such as standardization, optimization, consolidating and outsourcing. 
    • Develop and manage the list of approved suppliers, elaborate supplier selection, and evaluation, quality, and performance measurement mechanisms. 
    • Manage price agreements and contracts as required. Establish and implement a monitoring system that ensures that the prices paid for supplies are in line with local market prices. 
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement plans and progress reports as required.
    • Ensure that all transactions are kept current, recorded accurately, and processed efficiently both physically and online.
    • Maintain procurement files including all relevant documentation and vendor tracking system.
    • Manage vendor contracts and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure completeness of deliverables outlined in the contract this includes ensuring that all vendor complaints and concerns are addressed promptly to ensure that the organization continues to always receive uninterrupted services.
    • Co-ordinate the effective resolution of vendor queries and other finance related issues. Assist in the sourcing of products as required.
    • Implement the supplier performance management plan; roll out KPIs and report on performance of suppliers.
    • Work with the Evercare Regional Office and the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager-Evercare Kenya on ecosystem strategic initiatives
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor

    Personal Specifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in procurement and supplies management 
    • Professional qualification in procurement (CIPS or its equivalent)
    • Experience working with an ERP preferably Oracle Supply Chain Module
    • 5 years’ experience

    Endoscopy Nurse

    Key Responsibilities

    • Performs endoscopy procedures with the endoscopists considering the age-specific physiological, emotional and cognitive needs of the patient
    • Perform pre-procedure assessment reviewing patient history and physical examination
    • Formulate a nursing care plan to address patient care goals and ensure an excellent outcome
    • Coordinate planned nursing care with other healthcare team members
    • Act as the nursing team leader during endoscopy procedures
    • Prepare procedure room for the patient
    • Perform a pre-procedure safety checklist to ensure patient safety.
    • Provide sedation care for endoscopy services as per protocols
    • Document patient care activities and outcomes as per policies and procedures
    • Ensure continuity of patient care during the post-procedure phase with an effective handover
    • Develop promotions and publicity for the Endoscopy service in collaboration with the marketing department
    • Uses equipment and departmental resources appropriately.
    • Ensure financial objectives of the Endoscopy Service are met
    • Patient satisfaction and confidentiality:
    • Provide Monthly reports to the line manager and senior hospital management on the performance of the Endoscopy Services

    Personal Specifications

    • BSc. Nursing or KRN, KRCHN 
    • BLS and ACLS certification 
    • Must have a valid practicing license from the Kenya Nursing council 
    • At least two years of experience in endoscopy procedures, including Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP and Bronchoscopy
