    Scoping Officer

    Key Role-Specific Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

    • Supporting assessments (technical, social and political) of potential sites to understand suitability for a project
    • Supporting the mobilisation of future project sites, including land negotiations and infrastructure handover.
    • Forming and maintaining productive, professional relationships with county water officials and village leaders
    • Running community initiatives such as public participations to engage community members, encouraging sign ups and water usage
    • Occasional support with general Operations & Maintenance, for example, water quality testing, hygiene surveys, water treatment
    • Support with the training and management of community health support staff as needed

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 

    Required Work Experience: 

    • Experience in supporting projects and programmes from inception to completion to deliver operational results 
    • Experience in stakeholder engagement, particularly with government officials, local communities, and contractors. 
    • Experience working with government and private institutions within Kenya

    Service Delivery Officer

    Key responsibilities

    • Service performance & usage growth
    • Own end-to-end water system performance across assigned systems, with accountability for both system uptime and water usage.
    • Manage and support O&M technicians, ensuring effective maintenance, customer engagement, rapid issue resolution, and consistent performance of water systems.
    • Translate customer registrations into regular, sustained water usage through targeted community engagement, follow-up and local interventions.
    • Design, run and evaluate field trials and promotional initiatives (e.g. messaging, pricing or engagement approaches) to improve usage and service uptake.
    • Use system uptime, usage data and field insights to prioritise actions, identify risks early, and implement or recommend corrective measures.
    • Community engagement & customer insights
    • Act as the primary engagement lead with communities, customers, local leaders and relevant stakeholders.
    • Gather and report structured feedback on customer experience, community sentiment, competitor activity and emerging risks.
    • Drive customer communication initiatives, including mass SMS campaigns and on-the-ground sensitisation.
    • Ensure community issues are identified early, escalated appropriately and resolved quickly.
    • Monitoring, reporting & learning
    • Track and report on usage, engagement activity and intervention outcomes.
    • Maintain accurate field records and contribute to regional and organisational learning.
    • Share insights with programme, operations and leadership teams to improve service design and delivery.

    Skills and experience

    Required

    • Experience delivering community-based or field-led programmes or services.
    • Experience engaging directly with communities, customers, or public stakeholders.
    • Experience coordinating or supervising field-based teams.
    • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging in diverse community settings.
    • Ability to work with basic data and performance metrics to guide decisions.
    • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working independently in the field.

    Chief of Staff

    Areas of focus

    • The exact mix of work will evolve based on organisational needs. Typical areas include:
    • Leadership support & prioritisation: keeping key priorities moving, tracking actions and deadlines, preparing briefs, and ensuring follow-up.
    • Cross-team coordination & execution: coordinating across operations, with a strong eye on budgets and close integration with finance/admin, partnerships and technical teams to unblock delivery and close out tasks.
    • Operational support & problem solving: stepping into urgent or important operational needs, troubleshooting, and improving how work gets done.
    • Stakeholder and government engagement support: supporting preparation and logistics for meetings with county officials and other senior stakeholders; ensuring actions are captured and driven.
    • Funding and proposal support: supporting proposal preparation, evidence gathering, packaging materials, and internal coordination to meet deadlines.
    • People and culture support: coordinating recruitment logistics, onboarding coordination, team days, internal communications and organisational rhythm.
    • Planning, reporting and information management: building and maintaining simple but effective trackers, dashboards, meeting packs, and documentation so leadership has visibility and teams stay aligned.

    Experience and requirements

    • Strong working ability with Excel/Google Sheets, Word/Google Docs, and PowerPoint/Google Slides (building clear packs, trackers, and summaries).
    • Good comfort working with budgets and basic financial checks (e.g., verifying totals, reconciling simple trackers, spotting anomalies).
    • Experience coordinating multiple parties (internal teams and external stakeholders) and managing deadlines.
    • Water or infrastructure sector experience is an advantage, particularly experience working with county government, water service providers, but is not required.
    • 3+ years of relevant experience in operations, programme delivery, chief-of-staff/EA+ops, consulting, high-growth start-ups, or similarly fast-paced environment is preferred
    • Fluent in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
    • Nairobi-based, with willingness to travel occasionally as required.
