Producer (Nairobi with travel to Dadaab and Kakuma)

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Production planning: Creative Brief development to drive messaging; research, develop ideas and budgets. This also includes the development of production and media plans that will guide the production process as well as content placement on relevant media platforms.
2. Participate in the design of video graphics, titles, music, and creative look of media content produced; make editorial decisions regarding assembly of information, illustrations, and content.
3. Hold regular meetings with the Technical Advisor for Communications and Stakeholder Engagement to check on the progress of the productions.
4. Edit and/or work closely with the editor(s) to ensure that the content produced within the thematic areas achieves the desired outcomes necessary to support outreach activities.
5. Ensure all productions are delivered on time and within budget.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, code of practice, and health and safety laws on productions.
7. Prepare monitoring and status reports during the production process and final reports detailing the scope of work undertaken and completed upon the end of the production process.
8. Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

1. 3+ years of relevant experience working in a fast-paced ad agency or production house in either a broadcast, integrated, and/or digital producer role.
2. Previous broadcasting and video production experience is required.
3. Produce large-scale original content campaigns, including video and photography deliverables with a strong emphasis on innovation and design for the content space.
4. Knowledge of project breakdowns, budget, and scheduling, and an understanding of how to prep a project rolling into production.
5. A strategic planner who can work with production vendors/suppliers and internal production teams from all backgrounds and levels of experience, inclusive of creative direction and budgets.
6. Proven track record of leading cross-functional production efforts and keeping a strong collaborative tone.
7. Skills in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, After Effects, or other video editing, motion design is a huge plus.
8. Able to adapt quickly to change and meet deadlines.
9. Impeccable social, oral communication, and writing skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate with all types of personalities and people from different positions
10. Ability to work in difficult refugee context environments when required to do so.
11. Strong background of experience working closely with creatives
12. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast, Video, Film, or Media Production related disciplines.

Job Description

The Safety and Security Officer will be responsible for monitoring and facilitating the implementation of staff safety and security protocols and procedures. S\he will promote staff safety and security awareness, support in security preparedness and management in support of program implementation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety and Security Planning and Implementation:

1. Ensure safety for Dadaab field program by providing leadership in all safety related matters to FilmAid Kenya Dadaab program.
2. Regularly assess and update of safety threats and provide recommendations to management.
3. Supervise and monitor provision of safety to FilmAid Kenya staff and film equipment in all FilmAid Kenya activities.
4. Train and supervise a team of safety guards, both national and refugee in situational awareness, crowd control, radio communication and the FilmAid Kenya Safety plan.
5. Implement and maintain a FilmAid Kenya radio network in the key locations.
6. Ensure regular training, implementation of the safety/safety and evacuation plans and regulations in the field.
7. Conduct orientation to visitors, volunteers and new staff on the FilmAid Kenya safety guidelines. Responsible that all visitors are aware of procedures and are abiding by these procedures.
8. Liaise with GOK, UNHCR, INSO and other safety officers in assessing safety threats in the camps and providing regular updates on this to the Field Manager.
9. Conduct investigations on any incidents, accident or property losses within FilmAid Kenya premises in conjunction with the Field Manager.
10. Continuously update and review the existing evacuation plan, especially for Dadaab and ensure its viability.
11. Ensure Road Traffic Safety policy and procedures are properly implemented and adhered to.
12. Support the program team with program design, safety and security budgets, information on access, and safety assessments.
13. Provides advice on budgeting for operational safety & security related expenditures.
14. Supervises the procurement of equipment related to safety & security upgrades and training.
15. Oversees the implementation of all Standard Operating Procedures.

Information Sharing and Reporting

1. Provide daily verbal safety reports to the Field Manager, and as well provide weekly reports and monthly written summary reports.
2. Reporting security incidents affecting all FilmAid Kenya staff, offices and assets.
3. Performs incident analysis and investigation relative to all incidents with advice and closure to all responsible functional management and supporting security management.
4. Monthly and quarterly checks and reporting as outlined in the SSMP
5. Ensures that safety & security is always an agenda item at staff meetings.
6. Maintains routine and confidential correspondence files/documents related to safety & security.
7. Maintains a database on contact details in relation to national country security authorities.
8. Prepares and delivers safety & security briefs for staff and visitors.

Logistics Support:

1. Supervision of the drivers in Dadaab and coordinate the drivers in movement and vehicle management.
2. Reporting regularly on logistics status of the programs to the Dadaab Field Manager.
3. Participate in collaboration with The Field Manager, Operations Officer and relevant staff to draft weekly movement plans.
4. Ensure vehicles registration is up to date.
5. Advice the organisation on how to improve on vehicle management, maintenance and use.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Education: Education qualification in Criminology, Security Studies, Disaster Management or Military from a recognized university.

Prior Work Experience:

1. At least five years’ experience of safety and security support preferably in the humanitarian sector.
2. Demonstrable experience as Safety and Security resource
3. Demonstrable experience in preparing Safety and Security Standard operating procedures and Safety and Security Management Plans.
4. Ability to write clear and concise reports.
5. Has a high level of knowledge about all aspects of the SSMP and maintains and oversees adherence to procedures and plans.
