    Security & Threat Monitoring Specialist

    The Position:

    The Group Information Security (GIS) department is responsible for the first-line protection of the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Bank's information systems, data, and technological infrastructure.

    The role holder will be responsible for monitoring and analysing KCB Group’s cybersecurity posture while administering Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Database Activity Management (DAM), and other IT security monitoring systems for log management, security monitoring, threat detection, and information security incident response.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitoring internal and external cybersecurity threats, examining logs, events, and alerts generated by multiple platforms for anomalous activity, evidence of security incidents, and other error conditions that may constitute a breach in security or a degradation of the integrity or confidentiality of KCB Bank Group’s information technology systems and information assets.
    • Performing precise real-time analysis and correlation of logs/alerts from a multitude of log sources/devices with a focus on determining whether the events constitute security incidents.
    • Creating procedures, run books, and other high-level and low-level documentation for configuring, deploying, and managing SIEM and its components within the Bank. This includes improving the current state of the SIEM and Security Operations Centre (SOC) and implementing a roadmap to achieve SIEM / SOC maturity.
    • Interfacing with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs), other vendors, and internal teams to follow up on alerts and tickets raised, ensuring their satisfactory resolution and closure.
    • Researching on and providing technical security expertise about advanced persistent threats affecting the banking industry from various threat feeds and threat intelligence platforms. Updates will be reported to senior management.
    • Designing, implementing, and tuning security system monitoring tools.
    • Collaborating with Technology SMEs to create pertinent use cases and incident alerts within the Bank’s security monitoring tools.
    • Providing technical security support to projects in a bid to ensure that security logging and incident management are built into the applications as opposed to the more expensive process of adding these security features following an incident or to a system that is already in production.
    • Appropriately and practically defending the information enterprise in accordance with established policies, procedures, guidelines and practices.
    • Staying abreast of the latest trends in hacking techniques and malicious software, especially those targeting the financial services industry, and adjusting the Bank’s security monitoring approach accordingly to thwart the same.

    The Person:

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Telecommunications/ Engineering (Electrical, Electronic) or related.
    • At least one certification from the following:
    1. Certified SOC Analyst (CSA.
    2. Certified Incident Handler (E|CIH).
    3. Certified Threat Intelligence Analyst (CTIA).
    4. Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
    5. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
    6. Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
    7. Security+.
    8. Any vendor specific SIEM certification (Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm, ArcSight, AlienVault, etc.)
    • 5 years progressive working experience in Information Technology with at least 3 years in Information Security and 2 years Security Information and Events Management (SIEM) Operations.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    Senior Software Quality Engineer

    The Position: 

    The Senior Software Quality Engineer is responsible for architecting new automated test strategies and frameworks, in addition to creating, implementing and automating testing in support of software test requirements. The Senior Software Quality Engineer works with QA Analysts to develop, maintain, and enhance the test automation framework and automation infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Test strategy formulation which includes decomposing the business and technical requirements into test scenarios, defining test data requirements, managing test case creation, devising contingencies plans and other testing preparation activities.
    • Lead formal reviews of test plans, designs, and requirements documents with cross-functional teams.
    • Accurately predict the amount of effort required for projects QA activities and tasks.
    • Develops plans and schedules based on these predictions.
    • Implement Test Automation leveraging test automation frameworks.
    • Executes and reports on planned tests, report and manage defects, regress software fixes for new and existing products, assist development with replicating and debugging problems and develop new test automation solutions as needed.
    • Coach and mentor QA Analysts in modern approaches for execution of testing efforts
    • Architect, implement and manage automated suites of black-box and white-box test scripts.
    • Research, Develop and/or Recommend tools to assist QA Analysts in test planning, execution, and reporting.
    • Utilize tools such as code coverage tools to assess the coverage of test suites and make recommendations for additional test cases.
    • Lead monitoring of test execution across multiple code branches and multiple platforms and performing code reviews.
    • Management and maintenance of Test Environments.

    The Person:

    For the above position, the successful applicant should meet the following criteria:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study.
    • ITIL Foundation/ ISTQB / ISTQB Agile Tester Certification / Certified Test Engineer (CSTE) / Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) / Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST) / CMSQ (Certified Manager of Software Quality) is required.
    • Certification in PRINCE II (Practitioner) / AgilePM / PMI-ACP / Certified Agile Project Manager (IAPM) / Certified Scrum Master (CSM) will be added advantage.
    • Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in software development with at least 3 years in test automation.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.

    Senior Manager Solution Architecture

    The Position:

    The KCB Group and Architecture and Governance department is mandated to define and own the Enterprise Architecture Strategy that influences and supports KCB Group Business Strategy. The department is also responsible for defining the future direction of Information Systems Applications and Technology and steering IT investment decisions around the enterprise (projects and transformations) and in alignment to corporate strategy.  

    The role will report to the Head of Group Enterprise Architecture and Governance and will be responsible of leading a team of solution architects, business architects. He/She will be responsible of solution-level decisions and analysis of their impact on the overall business goals and outcome and will leverage on their profound knowledge of available technologies to suggest the best solution according to the incoming requirements and existing environment. The key deliverable of this role is to provide a set of technological solutions and the strategy of their implementation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyzing enterprise specifics- Facilitate the identification and analysis of the Bank’s business drivers to deliver enterprise business, information, technical and solution architecture requirements. The solution architect will be expected to provide solutions budget estimates and presenting these to the stakeholders.
    • Analyzing and documenting requirements- Elicit business requirements using interviews, analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.  
    • Setting the collaboration framework- Liaise with the Business subject matter experts in the development of business architectural framework developing a clear roadmap of Business solutions.
    • Manage, lead and mentor other Solution Architects, Business Architects and Business Analysts in their day-to-day work and professional development
    • Participating in technology selection-Participate in identifying fit for purpose technologies solutions for the Bank
    •   Analyzing the technology environment- Provide an analysis to determine best path for solving business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement vis a vis information technology systems enhancement.
    • Controlling solution development-Participate in solution developments to ensure technical and business requirements are adhered to.
    • Supporting project management- Provide architectural oversight of projects and ensure that requirements are in alignment with business strategies and business architecture roadmap/framework
    • Leverage’s business capabilities as a platform for illustrating the link between business needs with decisions to their technology, solution, business and information architecture efforts
    • Translates strategic initiatives into delivery-focused change initiatives, while translating business processes and issues into effective conceptual and logical models.
    • Lead effort to work with business leaders to identify business capability needs and IT integration
    • Function as a liaison to Business and IT partners in order to gain a broad understanding of industry trends and innovations, and their impact on technology.
    • Build and maintain repository for deliverables, methodologies, and business development documents
    • Independently facilitate discussions with groups of diverse stakeholders and manage the flow of conversation while driving to meet business objectives.
    • Independently manage conflict among diverse cross portfolio stakeholders related to competing interests and requirements. Able to help stakeholders objectively examine real needs versus wants and ways to collaborate to achieve win/win resolutions.

    The Person:

    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study from a recognized university.
    • At least one certification from the following CBAP, TOGAF, ITIL Foundation or Design Thinking and Innovation.
    • 6 years’ experience in Information Technology with at least 5 years’ experience in at least two IT disciplines such as (business architecture, application architecture, application development, middleware, microservices and SOA).
    • Prior working experience in a leading formal enterprise architecture framework of at least 3 years. 
    • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, cloud and processing environments.
    • Excellent understanding of software delivery processes, (DevOps) and methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile, hybrid).
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to breakdown complex items to actionable elements.
    • Ability to liaise with all levels of management and subject matter experts across the industry and within the organization to drive adoption of Business Architecture.

    Senior Manager Cloud Platforms

    The Position:

    Technology Infrastructure department oversees planning, deployment and operation of state-of-the-art infrastructure services that include server, storage, network and databases that support mission critical services for the Bank.

    The role holder will act as the leader a team of that is composed of technical experts on container management and middleware platforms that support business critical financial services for the Bank. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for ensuring conformance to security standards for all PaaS and middleware platforms. 
    • Responsible for CapEx and OpEx planning within the cloud platforms and middleware domain. 
    • Accountable for building, maintaining, and supporting high-performance, fault-tolerant, scalable, and distributed PaaS with Openshift and middleware platforms.
    • Provide leadership in interfacing with application development teams to ensure applications fit within the PaaS and middleware platforms with scalability, reliability and security designed.
    • Provide leadership and execution of automation of systems and services at massive scale to support scaling of digital services.
    • Provide leadership for adoption of the ‘open source first’ as a fit for the future initiative within the cloud and middleware domain. 
    • Establish effective relationship with suppliers and partners to influence their plans and maximize value delivery from the relationship for all cloud and middleware platforms. 
    • Lead a team of technical experts maintaining KCB PaaS and middleware systems running on diverse technologies such as RedHat Openshift and WS02.

    The Person:

    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree in ICT related field or Electrical Engineering.
    • Professional Qualifications in RedHat Administration (RHCE/RHCSA), Openshift/Kubernetes, Cloud (AWS or Azure Architect/SysOps, JBOSS/Fuse/3Scale) and middleware platforms such as Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, TIBCO, WSO2, RedHat Fuse.
    • 6 years progressive working experience in Linux administration with at least 5 years in middleware administration and 2 years in Docker/Openshift/Kubernetes administration. 
    • Experience with IT automation with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef and Puppet.  
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
