Role Purpose Statement

Implement, enforce and coordinate security systems and procedures at Cargo Terminal to ensure safe and secure environment for business operations.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Implement effective coordination of passenger ramp and cargo warehouse security operations to ensure nil security lapses/incidents.
• Develop and ensure implementation of procedures for effective screening and secure storage of cargo, courier & mail before uplifting.
• Develop and ensure implementation of processes and procedures to ensure no unauthorized access into cargo terminal and restricted areas (airside).
• Ensure availability of cargo terminal access passes at all times.
• Ensure full implementation of cargo security SLAs by cargo handlers.
• Maintain cordial and effective liaison with both internal and external stakeholders in managing cargo security issues.
• Continuously assess risks and threats to cargo security operations and implement mitigating action.
• Coordinate gathering of intelligence on acts of unlawful interference against cargo operations and analyze collect data and initiate counter measures.
• Ensure speedy preliminary investigation on all reported incidents for onward forwarding to Investigation Team.
• Ensure compliance with IATA ground operations and safety standards, Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations and other relevant regulatory requirements.
• Ensure security inspection and tests are regularly conducted to ensure that cargo, mail and courier security standards are adhered to.
• Ensure routine monitoring of safety and quality management of critical activities and ensure ongoing conformity to safety standards.
• Prepare, monitor and control the security budget for areas that fall under him to ensure effective cost control.
• Ensure effective coordination between Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Cargo Ramp security staff for maximum output.
• Ensure effective management of cargo operational security staff HR issues in relation to trainings, leave and performance review.
• Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of security/office equipment to achieve cost effective operations.
• Ensure that the company meets its contract obligation with regards to customer airlines being provided with security services by Kenya Airways.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

• University degree or relevant professional qualification
• Diploma (equivalent) in security related field
• Leadership skills
• Knowledge of Criminal Procedure, Penal Code and Evidence Act

Responsibilities

• Update fund records for accuracy, decision making and reporting to the Board of Trustees
• Updating and maintaining Members’ Account (Account balancing and maintaining records)
• Computing Members’ Benefits and withholding tax
• Facilitating the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements /accounts and administration reports
• Filing of all statutory reports, payments of levies and taxes to the regulatory bodies.
• Updating individual data on date of birth, date of employment, joining the fund beneficiaries and contacts.
• Arranging and keeping minutes for office weekly and monthly meetings

Requirement

• Graduate Degree in an Accounting Field or related business degree from a reputable university
• CPA II or equivalent
• 2 years experience in pensions/provident fund administration or closely related working environment
• Knowledge of RBA Rules & Regulations and KRA laws on retirement benefits schemes
• Computer Literate
• High integrity and confidentiality
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines with minimum supervision
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Develop and ensure implementation of systems and procedures for the security of aircraft both during overnight stay and turn around to ensure nil incidents of illegal access into the aircraft.
• Develop and ensure implementation of procedures and processes to ensure no illegal or prohibited items are carried on board KQ flights networkwide.
• Develop and ensure implementation of procedures and processes to ensure security of passengers and their baggage onboard KQ flights.
• Develop and ensure implementation of procedures and processes to ensure security of premises,property and personnel in KQ off airport facilities.
