Opportunity

As the Area Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. You will be responsible for driving new investment together with finance business partners, this includes developing business cases. Once the projects are approved, you will be responsible to ensure they are implemented as per timelines set out in the business case, safely and within budget. You will ensure business processes are in place and you will work across function with stakeholders all over the organization. Key responsibilities

1. Maintain a project tracker for ongoing and future projects.
2. Set up a framework to channel new business ideas and develop ideas into business proposals.
3. Prepare a clear project plan for each project.
4. Set up a project team that will work through the project.
5. Provide leadership to the project ensuring matters are escalated timely, where required.
6. Work with finance to develop strong business cases.
7. Identify decision makers and key internal and external stakeholders for each project.
8. Develop a good understand of approvals required for business cases and requirements to get the necessary approval.
9. Ensure HSSE requirement are covered while preparing the business case.
10. Implementation of the project after approvals are in place.
11. Ensure the pipeline of new projects is strong, is aligned with the strategic direction of the company and is aligned with the leadership team.
12. Use project management techniques/systems to ensure proper planning and preparation for different stages of the project.
13. We are looking for

A dedicated and qualified candidate having the ability to make a difference in the role with:

1. Prior experience with managing projects, especially logistics infra-structure projects like warehouses, depots, dry ports, etc
2. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an advantage
3. Strong stakeholder management experience
4. Understanding of logistics within Eastern Africa
5. Financial acumen
6. Experience with influencing stakeholders across different levels without authority
7. Good knowledge of MS Office
8. Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities..

The Accountant is overall responsible for financial reporting & analysis for the Mombasa Depots, Business Performance management, coordinating country-wide projects and generally providing the Area Finance team, as well as the Area Leadership team with accurate, timely, and comprehensive quality financial information and feedback on performance and business plans.
It is the Accountant’s responsibility to ensure that appropriate financial controls and policies are in place. The incumbent is expected to be committed to supporting the corporate and business strategies, adding value and maintaining close and strong relationship with all stakeholders.
This is a one-year fixed-term contract, based in Mombasa.

Key responsibilities

1. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of entity results with a 100% score in completeness, timeliness and quality in Reporting.
2. Ensure that the accounting system is up-to-date with all transactions.
3. Complete and correct accounting of the country’s result every month in line with APMM GAAP.
4. Monthly reconciliation for all accounts.
5. To ensure that adequate visibility of all items in the PNL and Balance Sheet is provided to all stakeholders and deliver necessary management reports.
6. Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer collections and vendor payments.
7. Bank reconciliations.
8. Ensure proper registration process in local and corporate accounting systems (SAP, IFS & HFM)
9. Coordination with internal and external auditors, tax authorities and lawyers as required.
10. Ensure the compliance of tax, legal and transfer pricing matters.
11. Ensure corporate governance policies and procedures are in place and up to date.
12. Carry out cost projections at required intervals for Budget/FYE.
13. Consolidate and prepare Budget/FYE data.
14. Manage budget and full year estimate.

We are looking for

A dedicated and qualified candidate with:

1. Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACMA, ACA, CPA or equivalent is a must.
2. 3+ Solid Experience in Finance and Accounting.
3. Knowledge of Tax laws.
4. Knowledge of and experience with SAP.
5. Excellent Stakeholder Management skills.
6. Strong core values & willingness to live our company culture.
7. A structured way of working, showing attention to detail.

As the Area L&S Project Manager, you will be responsible to identify upcoming projects within East Africa and develop logistics solutions to meet our customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify projects planned in Area
• Identify decision makers and key external stakeholders for each project
• Work with network offices to leverage our global logistics capabilities and customer relationship
• Prepare tender documents for identified projects, including pricing for the project
• Work with procurement to establish a solid vendor database that can provide necessary assets and services to deliver on project cargo
• Work with the execution team to ensure best in class delivery of the project
• Work with finance to ensure transparency around project profitability.
• Manage customer relationships and align on key project deliverables
• Use project management techniques/systems to ensure proper planning and preparation for different stages of the project
• Deliver on project financial target as well as key project deliverables

We are looking for

6. Candidate with at least 5 years experience within logistics would be preferred.
