    Farm Manager

    Job Summary

    • Our client is seeking a practical, hands-on, and results-driven Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of two farms in Kisii, covering both dairy and crop production. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient farm operations, healthy and productive livestock, strong crop yields, proper use of farm inputs, effective supervision of farm workers, and accurate farm records.
    • The role requires someone who can plan and coordinate activities across both farms, monitor productivity and costs, identify operational issues early, and ensure the farms are run efficiently, safely, and sustainably.

    Key Responsibilities
    Farm Operations & Planning

    • Oversee the daily operations of both farms and ensure all planned farm activities are completed on time.
    • Develop weekly and monthly farm work plans covering dairy, crop production, labour, maintenance, and input requirements.
    • Coordinate activities between the two farms and ensure proper allocation of labour, equipment, feeds, fertilizer, seeds, chemicals, and other farm inputs.
    • Monitor farm productivity, operational costs, and resource utilization and recommend practical
      improvements.
    • Maintain accurate daily and monthly farm records and submit regular updates to management.

    Dairy Farm Management

    • Oversee feeding, watering, milking, breeding, housing, hygiene, and general welfare of dairy cattle.
    • Monitor milk production per cow and maintain accurate milk production and sales records.
    • Ensure proper feeding programs, feed storage, rationing, and availability of fodder throughout the year.
    • Coordinate routine animal health activities including vaccinations, deworming, disease prevention, treatment, and veterinary visits.
    • Maintain breeding, calving, health, medication, and livestock movement records.
    • Ensure milking areas, equipment, storage containers, and animal housing are kept clean and hygienic.

    Crop Production Management

    • Plan and supervise land preparation, planting, weeding, fertilization, spraying, irrigation where applicable, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
    • Prepare seasonal crop plans and ensure planting and harvesting activities are completed within the required timelines.
    • Monitor crop health, pests, diseases, soil condition, and weather-related risks and take timely corrective action.
    • Ensure correct application and safe handling of fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, and other crop inputs.
    • Track crop yields, losses, input usage, and storage levels and recommend ways to improve production and reduce wastage.
    • Coordinate production and conservation of fodder crops to support the dairy operation.
    • Oversee coffee plantation management, including pruning, fertilization, pest and disease control, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.

    Farm Staff Supervision

    • Supervise farm workers across both locations and allocate daily duties based on operational priorities
    • Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, and quality of work and address performance or discipline concerns promptly
    • Train and guide workers on animal handling, milking hygiene, crop production, equipment use, safety, and good farming practices.
    • Promote accountability, teamwork, proper use of farm resources, and adherence to farm rules and procedures.

    Inventory, Maintenance & Cost Control

    • Maintain accurate stock records for feeds, veterinary supplies, seeds, fertilizer, chemicals, fuel, tools, and other farm inputs.
    • Monitor consumption of farm inputs and prevent misuse, loss, theft, and unnecessary wastage.
    • Coordinate routine servicing and maintenance of farm equipment, machinery, water systems, fencing, sheds, and other farm infrastructure.
    • Support procurement by identifying farm requirements in advance and verifying deliveries against approved orders.
    • Track farm expenses and provide management with accurate information to support budgeting and cost control.

    Compliance, Safety & Reporting

    • Ensure the farms operate in line with applicable agricultural, animal welfare, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
    • Ensure safe storage and use of veterinary medicines, chemicals, farm tools, and protective equipment.
    • Maintain proper records including livestock registers, crop records, input registers, production reports, sales records, mortality records, and staff attendance.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly farm performance reports highlighting production, challenges, expenses, losses, and required actions.
    • Escalate disease outbreaks, major crop losses, equipment breakdowns, security issues, or other significant operational risks immediately.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Dairy Technology, Crop Production, or a related field.
    • Over 3 years of practical farm management or supervisory experience, preferably involving both dairy and crop farming.
    • Strong practical knowledge of dairy cattle management, animal nutrition, breeding, milking hygiene, and basic herd health.
    • Good knowledge of crop production, pest and disease control, input application, harvesting, and post-harvest handling
    • Experience supervising farm workers and coordinating multiple farm activities at the same time.
    • Good record-keeping, planning, budgeting, and basic reporting skills.
    • Ability to identify farm problems early and make practical decisions with minimal supervision.
    • High integrity, accountability, reliability, and willingness to work hands-on in a farm environment.

    Human Resource Intern

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking to recruit a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Human Resource Intern to support our Human Resource department in the execution of daily HR and administrative functions.
    • The successful candidate will gain practical, hands-on experience across core HR operations including recruitment support, employee records management, HR documentation, compliance support, and general office coordination. The ideal candidate should demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a structured and fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the recruitment and selection process including CV screening, shortlisting, and interview scheduling.
    • Coordinate interview logistics and communicate with shortlisted candidates.
    • Support employee onboarding and induction processes by preparing onboarding documentation and schedules.
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records, files, and HR databases (both physical and electronic).
    • Assist in drafting, formatting, issuing, and filing HR documents such as offer letters, contracts,
      confirmation letters, and memos.
    • Support attendance monitoring, leave tracking, and maintenance of staff registers.
    • Assist in the preparation of payroll inputs including attendance, leave, and statutory deductions.
    • Support implementation and communication of HR policies, procedures, and company guidelines.
    • Assist in handling employee inquiries and basic HR-related concerns professionally.
    • Support performance management processes including documentation and filing of appraisal records.
    • Assist in organizing staff training, meetings, and internal HR activities
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and basic labour regulations.
    • Support disciplinary and grievance documentation under supervision.
    • Prepare basic HR reports and summaries as required.
    • Perform general HR and administrative duties as assigned by the HR department.

    Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask and work under minimal supervision.
    • Previous internship, industrial attachment, or HR-related exposure will be an added advantage.
    • Stipend: KES 15,000
