Required Skills:     

Key responsibilities

• Reviewing financial and operational internal controls for compliance with company policies, procedures and regulations;
• Reviewing management accounts for accuracy and completeness and review economy in use of company resources and makes practical recommendations;
• Undertaking planning and designing of audit tests in compliance with auditing guidelines;
• Carrying out the audit tests as designed and obtains substantive evidence to support the audit findings;
• Preparing assignment reports in accordance with professional code of ethics for review by the Group Head of Audit;
• Carrying out special audits and investigations;
• Advising and working closely with business units and departments on recommendations of various audits and monitoring to ensure implementation;
• Conduct risk assessments and update risk registers; and
• Conduct regulatory compliance assessments and reviews

Qualifications, experience and skills

• Bachelor's Degree in a business related course from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in CPA or ACCA ;
• Three (3) years of relevant experience;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Ability to write reports; and
• Analytical skills.

Opportunity:     

Newspapers in Education (NiE) is an initiative of the Nation Media Group PLC whose objective is to promote literacy through use of newspapers as learning materials and to develop lifelong reading habits among young people and their communities besides improving NMG products' brand awareness.  We are seeking to recruit a Team Leader, NiE in the Circulation department.

Reporting to the Head of Circulation & Distribution, the job holder will be responsible for the overall management of the Newspapers in Education progamme in schools, create new markets and ensure that Nation Media Group future clients are targeted at an early age.

KEY RESPOSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Develop annual NiE growth plans and budgets;
• Develop circulation plans and oversee timely and efficient newspaper deliveries to participating schools;
• Grow circulation and advertising revenues;
• Improve brand awareness by making NMG products top-of-mind;
• Key contact with Partners including proposal writing, pitching and managing overall client relationship;
• Manage timely production of NiE publications in liaison with various stakeholders on a regular basis;
• Monitoring and Evaluation of schools including managing recruitment, training, distribution and overall relationship with schools;
• Liaise with the Ministry of Education (both at Head Office and county level) on relevant approvals and operational issues;
• Planning and execution of project M & E including relevant surveys (where applicable);
• Preparation of Management and Partner reports on a regular basis;
• Work closely with partners and marketing to develop a NiE learning materials;

Required Skills:     

• Graduate in Education or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Teaching experience / partnership experience with Education institutions will be an added advantage;
• Ability to drive sales;
• Ability to conduct activations in schools;
• Team player;
• Project Management Experience;
• Driving License;
