    Pump/Generator Attendant

    Job Summary

    Reporting to the water Section Supervisor, the Pump/Generator Supervisor will be responsible for operating water pumps and generators in their respective stations according to the set programs within the conservancy as may be required from time to time in an efficient & effective manner and according to the company policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Carrying out daily checks on the pumps and generators according to the designed daily check sheets provided.
    • Switching on and off the respective pumps and generators according to the laid down programs.
    • Following water line and ensures that there are no leakages and that water reaches to the tanks provided.
    • Ensuring that the tanks are filled before leaving their stations and closing & opening the necessary valves if any.
    • Maintains a safe working environment for self and others and ensures the stations are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness, inside and outside.
    • Reports any hitches or problems noticed while carrying out assigned duties to the Supervisor for appropriate action.
    • Keeps in safe custody all tools and equipment allocated and uses the same in proper manner. Ensures the safety and cleanliness of documentation under own jurisdiction e.g. check lists, log books etc.
    • Adhere to the health and safety legal standards on the workplace as provided by the Act.
    • Ensure proper usage of the personal protective equipment at all times while undertaking duties.
    • Adhere to the company rules and regulations while maintaining a high sense of discipline.
    • Handing over all the works and assignments in the prescribed manner to the supervisor or any other person in charge while leaving for off or leave.

    Plant Operator

    Role Summary

    Reporting to the Deputy Manager- Building & Construction, the plant operator will be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation and maintenance of company machinery (Grader, Excavator and Shovel) within and outside the conservancy as may be required from time to time in an efficient & effective manner and according to the company policies and procedures.
     
    Specific duties include:-

    • Properly completes the journey authorizations sheets opened and approved for the jobs undertaken and ensures closure of the same.
    • Operating their allocated plant to the allocated area upon authorization by section head.
    • Carrying out daily routine checks to the plant before starting to use to ensure that all functional components are operating properly and report the defective ones for further action.
    • Report ANY defect of the machine / equipment promptly and ensure that continued use will NOT adversely affect the said machine/equipment 
    • Ensures that the vehicle and self have valid documents before operating the plant/equipment ie. driving license, vehicle license, inspection stickers, and insurance.
    • Adhering to the proper fuelling procedures, and report any faults that could lead to fuel wastage and theft.
    • Ensure that the plant left unattended is properly locked, parked safely and is not obstructing driveways.
    • Reporting plant service booking to the workshop in advance for appropriate planning.
    • Reporting any hitches or problems noticed while carrying out assigned duties to the Supervisor for appropriate action.
    • Keeping in safe custody all tools and equipment allocated and uses the same in proper manner.
    • Keeping in safe custody all accessories including jacks, safety triangles, mobile tool box etc
    • Ensures the safety and cleanliness of documentation under own jurisdiction e.g.  Job requisitions and journey authorizations sheets etc.
    • Adheres to the health and safety legal standards on the workplace as provided by the Act.
    • Ensures proper usage of the personal protective equipment at all times while undertaking duties.
    • Adheres to the company rules and regulations while maintaining a high sense of discipline.
    • Handing over all the works and assignments to the supervisor or any other person in charge while leaving for off or leave.
    • Ensure that proper handing over procedures are followed whenever he proceeds on off days or leave and ensures the same on his return.

     
    The person To be successful in this role, applicants should meet the following criteria

    • Education: Minimum ‘Secondary’ level education professional driving license class A, B, C, D, E F, and G AND SPECIAL.
    • Experience: At least five years relevant experience of continuous driving with the relevant class of machinery.
    • Key skills and qualities: Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high sense of personal initiative, Keen & fast learner, good communicator, a good team player.

    Drill Rig Operator

    Role Summary

    Reporting to the Water Section Supervisor, the Drill Rig Operator will be responsible for the preparation and operation of the drill rig machine, drilling of new bole holes and maintenance of existing boreholes within the conservancy as may be required from time to time in an efficient & effective manner and according to the company policies and procedures.
     
    Specific duties include:-

    • Properly completes the job card opened for the jobs undertaken and ensures closure of the same.
    • Operating the drill rig machine while drilling boreholes and installation of the borehole pump and equipment within the set operating procedures.
    • Maintaining a safe working environment for self and others and ensures the work station is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness.
    • Reporting any hitches or problems noticed while carrying out assigned duties to the Supervisor for appropriate action.
    • Keeping in safe custody all tools and equipment allocated and uses the same in proper manner.
    • Keeping in safe custody   all spare parts and materials of the jobs in progress.
    • Ensures the safety and cleanliness of documentation under own jurisdiction e.g. job cards, requisition books etc.
    • Adheres to the health and safety legal standards on the workplace as provided by the Act.
    • Ensures proper usage of the personal protective equipment at all times while undertaking duties.
    • Adheres to the company rules and regulations while maintaining a high sense of discipline.
    • Handing over all the works and assignments to the supervisor or any other person in charge while leaving for off or leave.

    The person To be successful in this role, applicants should meet the following criteria

    • Education: Minimum ‘Secondary’ level education with professional certificates such as GTT 1 in plumbing and fitting.
    • Experience: At least five years relevant experience in a busy water drilling and installation work shop and working with drilling machines.
    • Key skills and qualities: Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high sense of personal initiative, Keen & fast learner, good communicator, a good team player.

    Water Technician/Plumber

    Role Summary

    Reporting to the Water Section Supervisor, the Water Technician will be responsible for the maintaining and servicing of all water infrastructures within and outside the conservancy as well as operating water pumps and generators in their respective stations according to the set programs from time to time in and efficient and effective manner according to the company policies and procedures.

    Specific duties include:-

    • Routine inspection of all water infrastructure, repairs & maintenance , servicing and installation of any water infrastructure e.g  windmills , waterlines ,taps , tanks ,pumps , cattle  troughs , valves etc
    • Carrying out daily checks on the pumps and generators according to the designed daily check sheets provided
    • Switching on and off the respective pumps and generators according to the laid down programs.
    • Following water line and ensures that there are no leakages and that water reaches to the tanks provided.
    • Ensuring that the tanks are filled before leaving their stations and closing & opening the necessary valves if any.
    • Driving of the workhorse to facilitate his transportation to the various work sites .
    • Maintaining a safe working environment for self and others and ensures the work station is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness
    • Reporting any hitches or problems noticed while carrying out assigned duties to the Supervisor for appropriate action.
    • Keeping in safe custody all tools and equipment allocated and uses the same in proper manner.
