    Senior Security Infrastructure Officer


    We are pleased to announce the following Position in the Digital IT Department within the Technology Division.   In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Description

    Reporting to the Lead Infrastructure and Cloud Support, the successful candidate will implement and ensure compliance to Safaricom Information Security Policy and Vodafone Cyber Security Baseline Program requirements. He or she will work closely with Cyber Security Department to drive remediation and compliance to requirements around; patching, management of technical vulnerabilities and minimum-security baselines around IT (cloud) Infrastructure, Container Platforms, Database Systems across all DIT segments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyzes security issues, determine cause, impact and identify appropriate corrective actions needed to eliminate, reduce or prevent.
    • Articulates risk and impact to IT leaders to convey the urgency and need to remediate security compliance requirements, vulnerabilities, cyber threat action notices (threat intels) commensurate with the risk it presents.
    • Work with DIT operational teams to prioritize, test and implement remediation activities with a target of zero impact to services.
    • Ensure effective management of Technical Vulnerabilities as per policy requirements (and status reports from Cyber Security) and closure within stipulated SLAs.
    • Ensure effective management of the patching process for windows (quarterly), Linux/Unix servers and applications within stipulated SLA.
    • Coordinate and maintain the required level of security configurations and compliance including ensuring that ALL critical assets are sending logs to the Cyber Defence Center for 24*7 monitoring.
    • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders who own and support IT infrastructure, applications, processes, and operations.
    • Gain commitment from stakeholders to implement recommended and agreed information security controls.
    • Make and keep commitments, demonstrating both reliability and integrity.
    • Excellent communication, report writing, presentation skills required.

    • Degree in Electrical Eng/Computer Science/information Technology.
    • Certifications in either CEH, CISA, CISM or any other information security related course.
    • At least 1 years’ experience in Microsoft, Linux or Unix Operating Systems administration.
    • At least 1 years’ experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) – Oracle, MS SQL, My SQL, Pervasive SQL.
    • Knowledge and/or experience with security vulnerability assessment, minimum security baseline standards.

    Tech Lead – Enterprise Integration, Order Management & Contact Center systems

    Brief Description

    Reporting to the Head of Department – Billing and Core BSS, the position holder will be Responsible for planning delivering all enterprise integration, and order management solutions. The role is responsible for all business process automation for consumer and enterprise customers.

    Responsible for planning, delivering and supporting all human-assisted channels including IVR, IPCC, social media interactions. The role will drive the company evolution to an Omni-channel strategy. Responsible for planning and Delivery of CRM system. Responsible for defining blueprints for the strategy and evolution of the systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Financial management – budget planning, budget rollout execution, vendor management, contract compilation & monitoring.
    • Project delivery & rollout- Have an E2E accountability for strategy, planning, execution and delivery of robust technical solutions within the domain. Ensure all projects assigned are delivered on time and meeting the quality standards as per the product Increment.
    • Reponsible for implementing data analytics use cases within the domain
    • Responsible for architecture evolution especially towards cloud and micro-services .
    • Leadership & HR management -lead the adoption of AGILE delivery practices, ensure an engaged and motivated team. Build the skillset according to the fit for future program.Team performance management, Regular team and one-on-one engagements.
    • Governance and compliance -Ensure that technical solutions are compliant to all documented Safaricom policies and meet all security standards.
    • Business Process Automation
    • Working closely with COPS & EBU to prioritize business processes based on customer demand
    • E2E accountability for consumer business process optimization and re-engineering.

    • University Degree in computer science or engineering 
    • 7+ years in software development and integration in the telecom domain with 5+ years in management position. 
    • Knowledge of Enterprise Integration, order management and contact center systems.

    Business Intelligence and Analytics Developer - (21000160)


    Reporting to the Manager - Analytics System Support, the position holder will offer leading expert solutions and technical guidance in administration, service provision and availability of all the Safaricom Business Intelligence and analytics systems..

    Job Guidelines

    • Coding of all ETL and analytics processes used within the BI & Analytics systems;
    • Development of reliable data ingestion and preparation processes;
    • Planning and delivery of highly scalable distributed big data systems, using different open source technologies including but not limited to Hadoop;
    • Design and development of front-end tier(s), middle tier(s), and /or back-end database tier(s) for business applications. Capturing of business applications information needs and mapping of the same to the software and /or database components;
    • Performs data modeling to analyze and specify data structures within an application system;
    • Perform the necessary technical design and development functionality to ensure that reporting needs can be effectively developed and implemented.
    • Research and provide input on design approach, performance and base functionality improvements for various procedures and applications;
    • Generation of ideas to improve efficiency in software and application services offered to the business, and/or generate revenue for business;
    • Participation and membership in various technical fora for the purpose of increasing the collective knowledge base of the team.


    • Degree in Information Security/Computer Forensics/Computer Science/Information Technology or other relevant Technical Degree
    • Experience using Power BI, Tableau.
