    Pediatrician

    Job Responsibilities

    • Inpatient and Outpatient management of paediatric patients
    • Conduct specialized Paediatric Outpatient clinics
    • Planning and implementation of paediatric care at the hospital
    • Participation in quality assurance and improvement of paediatric services
    • Coordination of continuous medical education at the facility
    • Adhere to and ensure compliance with current applicable local, state laws and regulations and the accrediting standards of any certification or accrediting body that accredits or certifies any facility at which the hospital provides services.

    Job Qualifications

    • Applicants should have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent degree from a recognized University with a Postgraduate qualification (Master of Medicine) in Paediatrics.

    Physiotherapist

    Responsibilities

    The successful candidates will be responsible for the following amongst others:

    • Conducting evaluation and assessment of patients having physical disabilities, disorders or injuries.
    • Identifying treatment goals and appropriate therapy techniques and equipment to achieve the goals.
    • Planning for the most efficient and most effective treatment regime.
    • Carrying out the rehabilitative program and designate the party to carry out treatment plan, e.g., patient, employee, ward staff, family members etc.
    • Conducting regular evaluation of patients to assess progress and response to therapy and revise treatment program where necessary to achieve goals.
    • Participating in treatment team meeting with Doctors, nurses and other physiotherapists in order to provide information regarding patient assessment and to further coordinate treatment goals and programs.
    • Advising and recommending to referring doctors on necessary interventions and/or change of management,
    • Developing treatment plan to be followed by patient after discharge, advising the importance of continuing physiotherapy after discharge, and organizing their physiotherapy appointments.
    • Instructing patient, families and other professionals in treatment techniques and exercises outlined in the program.
    • Writing initial reports of results on evaluation of patient’s physical condition and preparing written treatment plan.
    • Providing statistical information by preparing year-end summaries on patients treated and their conditions and progress.
    • Conducting educational sessions on therapy treatment.

    Qualifications

    • Diploma in Physiotherapy.
    • One (1) year work experience.
    • Registered with the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists.
    • Possession of valid annual practicing license.

    Nursing Officers

    Other Responsibilities

    • Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes.

    • Notifying the Supervisor in case of shortage, changes to be done and any problems in the ward.
    • Always maintaining professionalism, honesty, truthfulness, adhere to nursing ethics and be committed when delivering services.
    • Assisting in emergency nursing procedures necessary for promote control of changes in patient(s) physical conditions.
    • Ability to perform the techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, accurately and effectively.
    • Keeping abreast of changing techniques in critical accurate nursing and maintaining high level of professionalism.
    • Ensuring economic use of equipment and supplies.

    Job Qualifications and Requirements

    • Must be a holder of a Diploma in KRCHN from a recognized institution
    • Must have Registration Certificate from Nursing Council of Kenya.

    • Must have good communication skills.

    Clinical Officer Ophthalmology

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide consultations at the eye clinic
    • Diagnose, manage and conduct cataract cases appropriately
    • Increase community awareness to participation in eye care especially cataract identification and referral

    Lab Technologist

    No of Positions: 2

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collect blood specimens from patients, label specimens and evaluate correct specimens for the tests requested.
    • Perform tests and sample analysis in the areas of Hematology, Immunology Histopathology/Cytology, Clinical Chemistry, and Microbiology.
    • Verify the validity of all submitted samples prior to accepting the specimen.
    • Prepare samples for storage and maintain specimen inventory.
    • Prepare peripheral blood films and tissue specimens in readiness for reporting by the pathologists.
    • Perform calibration, standardization and routine preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments such as centrifuges, microscopes, incubators, analyzers, refrigerators, freezers, in accordance with the established procedures, protocols and schedules.
    • Perform Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities.
    • Review all tests results for accuracy and consistency, correlating results with patients’ conditions.
    • Notify the appropriate health professional in case of Critical / Panic values or questionable results that require verification or re-collection of samples.
    • Maintain laboratory records and archiving system of patient information, equipment and tests results to comply with regulations.
    • Enter results in the laboratory information management system.
    • Assist in writing and revising of the technical procedures and manuals.
    • Maintain inventory of equipment and monitor laboratory supply levels and assist in re-ordering and inventory of supplies.
    • Comply with all relevant safety and infection control policies and procedures.
    • Ensure tidiness of laboratory rooms, benches and proper housekeeping.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirement:

    • A degree / diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
    • Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
    • At Least 2 years post qualification experience.
    • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
    • Ability to analyze and evaluate data critically.
    • Ability to prepare and keep budgets.
    • MUST be Computer literate.
    • Familiar with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
    • Familiarity with the total quality process- Quality assurance, quality control processes are mandatory.
    • Experience in performing common laboratory tests.
    • Ability to prepare reagents, stains and media.
    • Ability to carry out grossing, sectioning of specimens.
    • Ability to calibrate, operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
    • Familiarity with (Laboratory information management system) LIMS.
    • Minimum two (2) years working experience.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Private practice experiences an added advantage
    • Critical care knowledge an added advantage
