Cad Technician at BURN

About the role

Burn is looking for a CAD Technician who will be responsible for using specialized software to create, modify, and optimize technical drawings and plans for manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create high-quality detailed technical drawings based on designs supplied by engineers and designers and modify existing drawings.
• Maintain and update revision logs of existing and new technical drawings.
• Use a variety of Solidworks and AutoCAD to create designs in 2D and 3D models under instruction from engineers and designers.
• Liaise with engineers and designers to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice to Tooling, Manufacturing, and construction technicians through 2D drawings.
• Maintain an archive of up-to-date 2D and 3D drawings of products currently in production.
• Provide accurate, detailed and scale drawings on request.
• Ensure drawings are compliant with industry standards.
• BOM development.
• Any other job may be assigned by management.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in CAD software applications.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.).
• Strong 2D and 3D modelling skills with an understanding of drafting techniques and principles
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in drawings and adherence to standards.
• Good organisational skills for efficient drawing management.
• Ability to adapt to changing project or design requirements and software updates.
• Efficient time management to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and stay updated on new CAD technologies and advancements.
