    Technical Project Manager (Solutions Delivery)

    Overview

    After securing exceptional investment following successful Series-B funding, we here at Thunes are looking to grow and develop our global teams including the addition of a Technical Project Manager in our Nairobi team.

    This role will be supporting our existing Project Management and Solutions Delivery teams providing an excellent opportunity build upon both existing Project Management and Technical Integration skills and inspirations so as to assist both customers and team members in a client facing role.

    The role day to day:

    This is developmental role that is focused on growing our future talent by you learning from our existing consultants, market-experts in their field. We want to build the next generation of ‘Thunesters’ by developing your full potential by learning from the creators of industry leading solutions.

    • Support existing partners that are already integrated to the platform with their daily challenges and expansion plans
    • Drive the integration of new partners into our platform providing technical support and configuration for them to access our services
    • Lead our technical integration into new partner services
    • Provide solutions and contribute to proof of concepts outside of the box for some special projects
    • Drive improvements for internal monitoring, reporting and operational tools and processes

    Software Engineer (Solutions Delivery)

    The Solution Delivery team is responsible for supporting the integration of partners within the Thunes Cross-Border Payment platform. Processing millions of transactions per month and interconnecting hundreds of partners from all around the world, Thunes is continuously growing its coverage and footprint in the industry.

    What is the role?

    Reporting to the regional Solutions Delivery Director, we’re looking for a Technical and Solutions focussed Software Engineer who's passionate about the Fintech industry, loves to support partners and wants to work in a disruptive, fast-growing and exciting environment.

    As part of the EMEA Solution Delivery team, this role, based in Nairobi, Kenya, will bring you great opportunities to work on various projects, collaborating with a diverse range of partners and teams.
     

    What you will get to do:

    • Lead and deliver the integration into new partner services from the analysis phase though the integration design until go live and post-delivery monitoring
    • Solution and develop ad-hoc solutions outside of the box for some special projects
    • Monitor and measure the quality of service of existing partners that are already integrated to the platform
    • Expand internal monitoring, reporting and operational tools and processes
    • Drive partners integrating to our network providing technical expertise and support.


    On a daily basis, the role will involve you to:

    Context of the role

    This role will involve dealing with the full spectrum of HR initiatives such as recruitment and selection, employee engagement, on-boarding, support and guidance to functional managers. This is a great opportunity for a career driven, experienced, commercial focussed HR professional who has a board range of generalist skills.

    Key role responsibilities

    • Support from a HR perspective taking Thunes to the next phase of growth through HR initiatives to support the growth plans and evolve the current HR priorities
    • Lead the communication and embedding of people related initiatives
    • Ensure performance management and employee development initiatives are successfully embedded to support both employee and company success
    • Support the full spectrum of HR guidelines and processes across the global business
    • Responsible for HR and Admin support
    • Maintain HR documents and files
    • Ensuring HRIS is well maintained with leave records, personal data and headcount related information
    • Ensure the Payroll, annual country tax requirements are administered within the team effectively with outsourced providers
    • Support employment related administrative processes such as health benefits, pensions, employment passes etc
    • Support the end to end onboarding process for new joiners to Thunes
    • Develop strong working relationships with managers to understand their business and work pro-actively with them to provide appropriate business solutions
    • Work with managers to support recruitment
    • Work with managers to ensure they understand the processes and have the tools and knowledge to deal with people related activities and performance management
    • Ensure continuous review of HR practices to ensure alignment to country-specific employment laws for the countries we operate in.

    What we are looking for

    • Talented HR professional with a proven track record of delivering results
    • Minimum 6+ years generalist HR experience
    • Personal confidence, gravitas, willing to challenge
    • Commercially astute and strong relationship building skills
    • Strong communication skills
    • Experience within a large corporate and more recently a high-growth startup
    • International exposure in an HR role
    • Degree qualification or above
    • Creative problem-solver, able to think out of the box, with the ability to deliver strong ‘fit for purpose’ operational HR results
    • Driven to deliver personal best.
    • Excellent organisation skills, ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
    • Tech savvy with at least intermediate to advanced competence in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
