    Public Relations Officer

    In line with our commitment to bring on board talented and motivated team members, we are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of a Public Relations Officer.

    Job Ref: ZU/10/25/109

    Key Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Officer, the position holder will, among other duties be responsible for:

    • Writing and producing presentations and press releases;
    • Coordinating collation of information within the University for dissemination to relevant stakeholders;
    • Conducting media relations including media invites and support services for coverage;
    • Conducting press review and media Monitoring;
    • Organizing and attending promotional events;
    • Planning publicity strategies and campaigns;
    • Preparing reports and analysis;
    • Writing and editing in house magazines, case studies, speeches, articles and annual reports;
    • Preparing and supervising the production of brochures handouts photographs, films etc;
    • Maintaining and updating information on the Universities website;
    • Managing,updating information and engaging with users on social media.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or Media studies;
    • A minimum of 3 years of public relations / communication experience;
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in photography and videography;
    • Membership to professional body is an added advantage;
    • Proficiency in digital media and graphic design tools is an added advantage.

    • Awareness of different media and social media trends;
    • Exemplary editing and proofreading skills;
    • Ability to collaborate widely with various groups throughout the community;

    Digital Branding and Marketing Assistant

    In line with our commitment to bring on board talented and motivated team members, we are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of a Digital Branding and Marketing Assistant.

    Ref: ZU/10/25/110

    Key Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Brand and Corporate Affairs Officer, the position holder will, among other duties, be responsible for:

    • Preparing layouts, designs, and formats for use in publications;
    • Preparing layouts and scales photographs, marking them for proper screen values for print reproduction;
    • Performing paste-up duties for publications;
    • Designing posters and other artwork from oral or written instructions;
    • Assisting in editing and publication research duties;
    • Assisting in coordinating printing, typesetting, and other outside services;
    • Developing animations;
    • Editing videos;
    • Support the ideation and development of content for social media
    • Support the social media community management activities
    • Provide report and analytics on the effectiveness of the strategies employed in social media communication.

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    • Diploma in Graphic Design or relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Additional certified technical training in graphic design and/or desktop publishing; skills in video editing and animation will be of advantage;
    • Have a minimum of 6 months’ relevant experience in Graphic Design and/or Desktop Publishing or related field;
    • Interest and knowledge of Social Media Content Management.
    • Have a passion in Graphic Design and Branding;
    • Be an expert in Adobe Creative Suite 5.x (Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design).

    Critical Attributes

    • Ability to manage conflicting project demands, thrive in a fast-paced role and be able to deliver in high pressure situations;
    • Proficiency in written and verbal communication ability;
    • Proficient at creative and imaginative thinking for project planning and implementation;
    • Must be well organized, able to plan work and deliver within strict deadlines with minimal supervision;
    • Should be a team player open to team input and collaborative work.
