Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the following vacant positions under Abbvie Informatics Study to be based at  Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) – AMPATH

GRADE: RS 11

SITE: AMPATH, MTRH

Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:

• Designing and maintain a well functioning and reliables LAN/WAN network in ways that optimize its performance.
• Designing, testing/inspecting and installing well-functioning computer networks, connections, and cabling.
• Performing physical installation of equipment and components (e.g. wiring, cabling, telephone instruments, satellite communication modules, necessary interface cards, modems, hubs, routers, multiplexores, equipment racks, etc.).
• Must be able to troubleshoot network issues quickly by identifying the sources of problems.
• Analyzing network traffic flows to identify potential bottlenecks and improve levels of service to users.
• Performing troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
• Testing and configuring software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
• Evaluating network performance and find ways of improvement
• Organizing and scheduling upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work
• Providing technical direction to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
• Maintaining and Monitoring infrastructure integrity and security. Where needed implement new practices and policies to ensure we are at or above any compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s of Science in computer science, computer engineering or any relevant field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience as a network technician or relevant position.
• Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, and network technologies.
• Hands-on experience with common software and hardware, including cloud and virtual infrastructure.
• Project management skills to ensure that new installations or network upgrades do not disrupt normal work.
• CCENT/CCNA/N+/MTCNA qualifications are strongly preferred.
• Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication skills

Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing users stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility
• Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
• Design and develop automation scripts when needed.
• Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
• Provide timely solutions
• Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
• Provide support and documentation
• Collaborate closely with other team members and departments
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Team player

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s of Science in computer science or any relevant field from a recognised institution.
• Should not have any other commitment during the internship
• Experience working with EMR will be added advantage.
• Should have demonstrated interest in software development work environment.
• Must be post – attached and extremely self motivated to become an excellent Software  developer.
