    Finance Manager

    Job description

    This position reports to the Director, Finance, HR and Planning. The successful candidate will ensure maintenance of accurate financial records, timely availability and reliability of financial information and reports, effective internal cost control and optimal utilization of resources.a)  Review and submission of weekly and monthly operational and financial reports to the Director and providing assurance over financial and operational data integrity.

    Responsibilities

    • Review and submission of weekly and monthly operational and financial reports to the Director and providing assurance over financial and operational data integrity.
    • Carrying out business performance reviews / financial analysis and reporting on a monthly basis on arising insights.
    • Implementing the Hospital’s finance and accounting policies and procedures.
    • Reviewing performance and cash flow forecasts and budgets.
    • Identifying and developing insights into key performance drivers and proactively identifying and reportingon adverse trends.
    • Coordinating business and financial control systems and processes and ensuring they have beenimplemented and are operating effectively.
    • Responsible for coordinating external audit exercises.
    • Ensuring effective management and utilization of the Hospital’s resources and assets.
    • Maintaining accurate records and effective internal controls.
    • Ensuring timely preparation of the Hospital’s consolidated financial statements.
    • Ensure that operational and capital expenditure are appropriate by reviewing and comparing costs withindustry standards.
    • Investing funds in a timely and optimal manner; and within approved policies
    • Managing, coaching and developing finance staff

    Qualifications

    •  A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance
    •  Must have a CPAK/ACCA or related professional qualification
    • Must be a member of ICPAK
    • A minimum of eight (8) years working experience
    • Must have demonstrated ability to handle departmental budgets, resources, processes, projects andrelationships
    • Should have thorough knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as knowledge of regulatoryrequirements affecting the relevant sector
    • Should have strong analytical skills and be result oriented
    • Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice
    •  Should have problem solving and decision making abilities
    •  Should be an effective communicator with the ability to handle both internal and external communication
    • Should have effective people management and conflict resolution skills
    • Must have knowledge in use of MS office packages
    • Must be a born again and committed Christian with evidence of maturity in faith

    Financial Accountant

    Job description

    This position reports to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will provide financial decision making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating and reporting financial data.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare monthly statements by collecting data, analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, information and trends.
    • Comply with tax filing requirements by studying regulations; adhering to requirements; advising management on required actions; calculating quarterly estimated tax payments; assembling data for quarterly and annual tax filings.
    • Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
    • Provide financial advice by studying operational issues, applying financial principles & practices and
    • developing recommendations.e)  Prepare special reports by studying variances; preparing budgets; developing forecasts.
    • Analyze accounting systems used by the Hospital to look for inaccuracies and potential improvements.
    • Create efficient methods for accounting and financial record-keeping and management to implementthem.
    • Work with business managers to assess financial status and identify methods for cost-reduction and efficiency improvements.
    • Disclose or report financial activities to government authorities as necessary.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance Must be a CPA finalist
    • Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience
    • Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice
    • Must demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams
    • Must demonstrate ability to multitask
    • Must demonstrate commitment to operational effectiveness
    • Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant business knowledge Should demonstrate professional expertise in the relevant work area
    • Must have the ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral)
    • Must be able to work under pressure

    Management Accountant

    Job description

    This position reports to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will ensure compliance of financial transactions to approved financial policies, procedures and control systems in order to support sound decision making based on accurate financial information.

    Responsibilities

    • Drive and coordinate the annual budget process for the Hospital, which involves providing support to the project companies in the preparation of annual budgets.
    • Preparation of the consolidated budget and completion of all budget related templates as required, ensuring all reports are completed accurately and submitted as per the set deadlines.
    • Provide financial support to the departments in case there are any gaps and with the aim of enhancing their financial reporting.
    • Set up and maintain financial reporting systems for the Hospital.
    • Review cost analysis, prepare control reports and performance reports.
    • Prepare timely and accurate management reports and distributing to appropriate users.
    • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts for the Hospital.
    • Participate in preparation of board papers.
    • Ensure proper costing of products and services.
    • Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis.
    • Monitor departments expenditure against budgets and any project plans.
    • Query department budgets where there are significant variances.
    • Interpret financial transactions and events for purposes of making business decisions.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance
