    ICT Interns

    ( 2 POSITIONS) – ICT/06/2021

    The ICT interns will be attached to the ICT department under the overall supervision of the ICT Manager. Under supervision, they will provide administrative ICT support services and provide daily technical support to users at the Federation. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Provide regular and timely 1st level ICT end-user support as assigned and via ICT help desk 
    2. Provide ICT support for virtual events, meetings and engagements
    3. Assist in troubleshooting of network issues when required
    4. Assisting with troubleshooting computer hardware and software
    5. Assisting with Software installations and configurations
    6. Setting up computer workstations
    7. Setting up teleconference & video conference meetings
    8. Assess, diagnose and provide resolutions to end-user problems in accordance with the foundations of ICT service management and service delivery
    9. Assist in maintenance of relevant knowledgebase, processes and procedures for the ICT Help Desk
    10. Work with other staff within the section to share best practice solutions for improved services delivery
    11. Provide ICT support in FKE digitalization projects
    12. ICT inventory management

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    1. A bachelor’s degree in computer science/Business Information Technology from a recognized university
    2. The ideal candidate should have graduated from the university not more than 2 years ago and be below the age of 30 years 
    3. One year ICT Attachment experience in a busy work environment 
    4. Understanding of computer hardware, software and Microsoft office suite

    Public Relations & Communication Intern

    PR/06/2021

    The intern will be placed in the PR & Communications department, reporting to the Manager, PR & Communications. He/She will be trained to support the department in delivery on the following roles:

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Drafting and writing documents, articles, reports, newsletters and press releases for review by the manager
    • Creating publicity for FKE events among members
    • Establishing targeted media contacts and relations that ensure media coverage of FKE work and events
    • Packaging information for various FKE stakeholders as guided by the manager
    • Branding of FKE materials as per the branding guidelines
    • Taking part in planning and delivery of institutional events
    • Carrying out basic design and layouts of documents as well as coordinating outsourced design work for delivery as per specifications
    • In conjunction with the Manager, design and roll out digital media campaigns aligned with FKE’s Marketing & communication plan
    • Capture all events (images and video) organized by FKE or where FKE is represented and publish them on all FKE’s social media platforms as per guidelines
    • Develop relevant content topics to reach FKE’s target customers.
    • Monitor trends, listen, update and respond to FKE followers on Social media platforms as per guidelines 
    •  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    • A degree in PR/ Communications/ Media /Languages, or related fields of study
    • One year Attachment experience in a Communications & PR role 
    • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
    • Displays in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios by a corporate.
    • Design knowledge and experience will be an added advantage

    Information and Records Management Intern

     RM/06/2021

    The intern will be placed in the Information and Records Management section, reporting to the Information and Records Management Officer. He/She will be trained to support in the following roles:

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Implementation of the Electronic Document and Records Management System
    • Retrieval and preparation of files for scanning
    • Listing and issuing of files for scanning 
    • Sorting and filling documents
    • Sorting and returning the retrieved files in the respective locations
    • Scanning and indexing of documents
    • Supporting in records appraisal and archiving of inactive files
    • Records Inventory Management
    • Assist with other records management routine services as guided 
    • Perform any other relevant duties as requested

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • A Diploma in Archives and Records Management from a recognized institution
    • One year Attachment experience in managing records 
    • Knowledge of Electronics Documents and Records Management Systems (EDRMS)will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge and working experience with Computerized Office Applications
