    Senior Finance Officer, Kenya

    About you

     

    You will have a bachelor’s degree in B.COM or equivalent in accounting or finance. Minimum seven years of progressive financial management experience is required with a minimum of five years in an international NGO in program/grant management. Professional qualification in accountancy such as ACCA or Certified Public Accountant. Experience working with contracts and grants management database. Skills in financial management and administration. Prior staff supervisory experience and strong organizational skills are desired. Attention to detail, competent IT skills, ability to work under pressure and multi0tasking ability with an analytical and methodical approach. Knowledge of Great Plains will be an added advantage.

    Fluent in written and spoken English.

    About the role

    In this role you will be:

    • Providing guidance and serve as a resource person to program staff in the country office on contracts database.
    • Leading in monitoring of DRM Financing Agreements financial reporting, financial milestones and triggers and disbursement.
    • Responsible for financial program reporting to the CD and program staff, including milestones management and pipelines forecasting.
    • Leading in monthly and annual corporate services financial reporting while ensuring accurate financial reports are submitted within the set timelines.
    • Coordinating timely conduct of statutory and program audits and tracking of audit recommendation implementation.
    • Leading in the preparation of Country Office Annual Program of Works and Budget for Kenya Office.
    • Verifying that the contract budgets are in line with the approved budgets.

    Senior Program Finance Officer, Africa

    About you

    You will have a bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years’ experience in finance in the development sector. Minimum seven years of progressive financial management experience is required. Professional qualification in accountancy such as ACCA or Certified Public Accountant. Minimum 5 years of experience from an International NGO in program / grant management. Skills in financial management and administration skills. Superior interpersonal and people management skills, computer IT skills, attention to detail, multi-tasking ability and working under pressure. Knowledge of Great Plains will be an added advantage.

    Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of French is an asset.

    About the role

    In this role you will be:

    • Providing guidance and serve as a resource person to program, staff in the regional and country office for contracts database.
    • Verifying the coding in the Payment Request Forms and check that it agrees with the Contract Database.
    • Monitoring the contracts database for the Region on a monthly basis by following up with program staff on all the contracts and milestones that are past their activity date.
    • Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual monitoring reports on program spending.
    • Ensuring completeness and accuracy of the funding approval form, contract approval sheet, payment request form and other related documents received from the country offices in the region.
    • Ensuring compliance with established NI policies for the release and approval for signature of legal documents (Grant agreements, consulting contracts, travel letters, extension, and supplement requests).
    • Preparing and providing monthly budget variance reports to Finance Director, Project Director and Program staff to ensure program implementation is conducted within the approved budgets.

    Human Resource Officer (Nairobi)

    About you

    You will have a bachelor’s degree in HR with a minimum 3 years’ experience in human resource management. Post graduate diploma in human resource management. Must be a member of IHRM. Experience in conducting job evaluation. Proven track record in capacity building, training, and development. Experience in management of HR systems and data. Ability to lead training and motivate staff with a commitment to capacity building. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, positive attitude, and enthusiasm.

    Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of French is an asset.

    About the role

    In this role you will be:

    • Supporting the RHRM in conducting job evaluation and grading of the position.
    • Developing long and short-listing criteria for all vacant positions followed by actual longlists / shortlists of prospective candidates, while ensuring gender balance and diversity.
    • Maintaining all personnel records to ensure each staff member has a complete and up to date personnel file.
    • Supporting RHRM in the preparation for internal and external audits and ensuring that all personnel records and documents are returned for safe keeping after audits.
    • Ensuring newly recruited staff sign all relevant HSR policies and documents.
    • Supporting RHRM in capacity building initiative and staff training planning.
    • Ensure reconciliation of all HRIS such as BambooHR,Journyx, and emPerform.
    • Supporting the RHRM in putting together relevant work permit requirements for expatriate staff in the region.
