    Senior Manager – M-PESA Performance, Strategy & Analytics

    Detailed Description

    Reporting to Head of Department – M-PESA New Business Ventures, the role holder will develop and manage the M-PESA Strategy and other Financial Services Product strategies to ensure growth and development of revenue and value added services in the business.  Provide support for strategic governance processes - a champion to the strategy team. The incumbent will also develop and maintain meaningful business reporting to ensure the achievement of annual performance targets through end-to-end performance management.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop the Division’s agenda by planning divisional strategic forums and tracking the implementation of strategic initiatives.
    • Deliver a consolidated strategy document for the unit after team deliberations
    • Promote the development of strategic objectives and associated performance metrics
    • Regularly share a deck of key insights from the key performance indicators tracked per product and segment
    • Develop the supporting narrative for interpreting the meaning and significance of the performance information.

    • Establish and maintain competitor knowledge base to support consumer and business strategies through Market Intelligence.
    • Steward the development and implementation of insights, research processes and procedures for the business.

    Job Requirements

    • Relevant undergraduate degree. A Master’s degree is beneficial.
    • At least 5 to 7 years working experience in the Financial Services Sector, Mobile money and Telco sector with expert knowledge of payments business models, mobile money business models.
    • Work experience in strategy development and execution a must.
    • Highly developed communication skills and ability to manage and champion strategy positions up to Executive levels.

    Engineer - Financial Services Support

    Brief Description.

     

    Reporting to the Manager - MPESA Partner Management, the position holder will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting and monitoring Mpesa application 24 hrs. to ensure 99.99% availability of the system

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

     

    • Ensure data and/or application availability of the assigned systems and applications
    • Participate in design , testing and implementation of new products, services, functionalities or upgrades
    • Use software skills to automate repetitive tasks within M-PESA system and the ecosystem
    • Document and perform business continuity tests
    • Analyze code and communicate detailed reviews to development teams to ensure a marked improvement in applications and the timely completion of projects
    • Optimize existing software design architectures and ensure new architecture provide always on solutions
    • Provide support for core M-PESA and related interfaces

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of work experience as an engineer in a telecommunications or financial services environment (vendor or operator)
    • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues
    • Expertise in system monitoring and alerting strategies and can draw on their experience to drive improvements in system monitoring with automation, third party tools and frameworks
    • Working knowledge of databases and SQL
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
    • Software development skills preferably in Java, Python.
    • Knowledge in ITIL Service Operations processes and Agile methodology. Certification in Scrum fundamentals or higher is an added advantage.
    • Working knowledge in dev ops and dev ops tools like Github

    Apigee Developers (API developers)

    Brief Description.

    Reporting to the Principal Apigee Developer, the position holder will be responsible to run day to day micro service development to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery that meets the expectations of the business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Development of digital products consumed by various channels.
    • Development of microservices using java, spring boot, spring boot security and spring cloud.
    • Responsible for designing REST API schema.

    Description

    Reporting to the Digital Engineering Manager for Apps and portals within Digital Engineering (DE), the product designer will be responsible for working with other stake holders such as the product owner and data scientist to provide great user experience to our users across various digital channels.

    Qualifications

    • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision, Balsamiq, Zeplin, Framer, and the like is a must.  
    • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions. 
    • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns. 
    • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
