    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

    • Post Graduate University degree in Public Health or any other relevant field of Immunization supply chain with at least 5 years’ experience supporting Immunization program and specifically in the areas of immunization supply chain (EVMA, Cold chain management and other aspects highlighted in these terms of reference.).
    • Demonstrable experience working with government (preferable at national and county level), development partners and other stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in use of excel and other relevant analytical packages, reporting and presentation
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent team working skills
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
    • Ability to provide quality products, with minimum supervision and to meet tight deadlines.
    • Fluency in English

    Senior Adviser (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), P-5, OED, PAT 117126, home based initially

    Job organizational context

    A new Culture and Diversity team is being established in the Office of the Executive Director in New York headquarters (NYHQ). This team will oversee, monitor, coordinate, and support implementation of all of UNICEF’s efforts to become a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization both in its programming, advocacy, and partnerships for children, and for its own workforce, and in its internal operations.

    The Senior Adviser (DEI) will coordinate and oversee the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work, in collaboration with the Culture and Diversity team, the Global Staff Association, Employee Resource Groups, the Division of Human Resources, and other key stakeholders.

    The position will be based remotely/at home for the first year, with some travel to NYHQ and other UNICEF offices, before being established at a duty station to be determined in the Global South in subsequent years.

    The role of the Senior Adviser (DEI) is primarily technical and covers both programmatic and human resources (i.e. workforce) technical areas. Advocacy and coordination roles serve as a secondary function. The Adviser provides authoritative technical guidance/operational support throughout all stages of programming to facilitate the management and delivery of results contributing to DEI in alignment with the human rights based approach to programming (HRBAP) for children. The Adviser also provides technical advice and expertise to all aspects of human resources or people management, from a DEI lens. The Adviser supports the implementation of all aspects of the accepted Recommendations from the internal Task Team on Anti-Racism and Discrimination.
