    Maternity Cover - Physical Health Education Teacher

    Role Summary
    The Physical Health Education teacher shall be responsible for the implementation of the physical education curriculum as per the objectives/standards of the school. The candidate will endeavor to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promote physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver engaging and inclusive Physical Health and Education lessons aligned with the IB curriculum.
    • Support students in developing physical literacy, teamwork and healthy lifestyle habits.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement inquiry-based, student-centered learning experiences.
    • Contribute to the co-curricular sports programme and school events as required.
    • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
    • Actively participate in Saturday and midweek fixtures, coaching and supporting students during sports competitions beyond regular school hours.
    • Provide lesson cover within the department during planned staff absences or emergencies.
    • Show flexibility in coaching teams beyond the usual scope as required.
    • Attend sporting residential events, including overnight stays, to supervise and support students.
    • Attend regular departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum planning and improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain a professional manner at all times and actively support the aims of the Academy.
    • Contribute to whole-school events and initiatives, promoting a collaborative school community.

    The requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education (Physical Education).
    • 5 years’ teaching experience in an international curriculum school.
    • Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration certificate.

    Maternity Cover – Chemistry Teacher

    Role Summary
    The Chemistry Teacher shall be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, guiding practical experiments and ensuring laboratory safety. The teacher will also assess student progress, foster critical thinking and prepare real-world scientific applications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and deliver well-structured and engaging Chemistry lessons aligned with the IB curriculum (MYP and DP).
    • Inspire students’ curiosity and scientific inquiry through interactive teaching, practical experiments, and field study opportunities.
    • Set up demonstrations, supervise laboratory work, and ensure health and safety protocols are followed.
    • Provide differentiated support, resources, and interventions to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional assistance.
    • Assess, record, and monitor student progress to inform teaching and provide accurate feedback to students and parents through reports, meetings, and communications.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement inquiry-based, student-centred learning experiences.
    • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that fosters high standards of behaviour, organisation, and academic achievement.
    • Liaise with the Head of Department, Learning Support, and pastoral teams where students have specific academic or wellbeing needs.
    • Contribute to departmental and whole-school events, curriculum development, and improvement initiatives.

    Science and Learning Support Teacher

    Role Summary
    The Science and Learning Support Teacher reports to the Head of Department (Science). In this dual role, the teacher will teach Science within the IB curriculum while also supporting inclusion by assisting colleagues in designing and implementing inclusive strategies, applying Individual Education Plans both in and out of the classroom and ensuring the continuous application of IB philosophies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Student Identification and Support:

    • Identify students with learning differences or those requiring additional academic support.
    • Provide individualised instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student, particularly in science subjects.

    Instructional Strategies and Learning Design:

    • Apply diverse teaching strategies and resource-based activities to support differentiated instruction.
    • Collaborate with science teachers to adapt lesson plans and assessments, ensuring inclusive and effective teaching methods.

    Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Continuously monitor student progress using individual, class, and school-wide assessments.
    • Design comprehensive individualized reports and contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

    Intervention and Inclusion:

    • Recommend and implement effective intervention strategies within mainstream classrooms.
    • Facilitate inclusive education by supporting students with mild to moderate learning challenges through differentiated instruction and accommodations.

    Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Coordinate with internal and external support services, agencies and professionals to ensure holistic student support.
    • Lead and manage learning support programs and personnel within the school.

    Student Wellbeing and Engagement:

    • Create a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters student confidence and engagement.
    • Promote social-emotional and behavioral learning through proactive support strategies.

    Professional Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to Special Needs and Learning Support.
    • Engage in ongoing professional learning to enhance teaching practices and student support.
    • Support the school’s Strategic Focus Areas, particularly in Learning Design, Inclusion and Wellbeing.

    Community and Extracurricular Involvement:

    • Be an active member of the school community, supporting interventions during and outside regular class time.
    • Mentor extracurricular learning activities beyond the school day.
    • May take on one or two lower science classes to help balance teaching loads within the department.

    The requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education Science with Special Needs specialization in learning difficulties. 
    • Certification in methods of educational assessments and access arrangements.
    • 5 years’ teaching experience in an international curriculum school.  
    • Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration certificate.
