    Senior Program Officer

    Job Details

    We seek to recruit a Senior Program Officer to provide support to Market Dynamics Oxygen project and the Reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) programs. This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide support to the project team in development and execution of work plan and associated project activities in Kenya
    • Provide local context and background to the PATH project team and collect preliminary market information in advance of project team time in-country
    • Stakeholder engagement- identify, engage and serve as the local point of contact for key stakeholders in PATH’s Kenya market dynamics project activities.
    • Contribute technical insight to the Kenyan market assessment, market access strategy, and potential market strengthening recommendations for oxygen concentrators and pulse oximeters
    • Carry out initial data collection through desk research to amalgamate face to face consultations
    • Provide technical support and document review

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
    • At least 7 years of relevant program experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Kenya’s health system at the national and subnational level, pertaining newborn and child health policies and practices.
    • Demonstrated commitment to the field of global health.
    • Familiar with medical devices and/or MNCH medical devices more specifically.
    • Familiar with the principals of Market Dynamics.
    • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with country level Ministries of Health and national and subnational newborn and child health program managers in Kenya.
    • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative field research, expert informant interviews, structured observations, and experience synthesizing information to identify current needs and practices to inform project strategy.
    • Skilled in successfully working with geographically dispersed teams and working in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) complex issues in a concise, compelling, and easily understandable manner.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize deadlines and work in fast-moving environments and teams, while maintaining accuracy

    Candidates must have legal authorization to work in Kenya.

    Temporary Program Assistant

    Job Description

    PATH is currently recruiting for a temporary Program Assistant attached to the office of the Chief of Party. Reporting directly to the Chief of party, the Program Assistant will provide administrative and coordination support to the Chief of party as well as the Senior Management team to ensure efficient and effective operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain the Chief of Party’s calendar and daily schedule, arrange meetings and plan his itineraries.
    • Responsible for coordinating the Office of the Chief of Party, Senior Management team, and the team leaders’ logistics.
    • Arrange and schedule meetings with partner representatives, officials from relevant government ministries and individuals of interest to the Afya Ziwani project.
    • Ensure timely follow-up and delivery of materials and information related to the functions of the Chief of Party.
    • Screen visitors and calls for the Chief of Party.
    • Monitor and manage all correspondence and ensure timely and appropriate response.
    • Sit in meetings with the Chief of Party and record the proceedings of the meetings.
    • Maintain a database of files and records for the project.
    • Prepare and share the Highlights of the Chief of Party’s diary
    • Edit and prepare documentation of key achievements for the USAID quarterly reports
    • Prepare periodic reports for the duties performed.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information.

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role preferably in an NGO set up
    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
    • Excellent command of the English Language, both written and spoken
    • Proficiency in Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Good time management and ability to Multi task
    • Excellent Report writing and Minute writing skills/Excellent writing, editing, grammatical and organizational skills.

    Temporary Stores Assistant

    PATH is currently recruiting for a temporary Stores Assistant who will be responsible for receiving, storing and issuing equipment, material, or other goods for the Afya Ziwani project in close liaison with the Stores Clerk. He/she will be responsible for proper documentation and filling of all Receipts and issuance of goods to and from the store.

    Responsibilities:

    • Receive supplies delivered from vendors and elsewhere.
    • Count, sort or weigh incoming items to verify that all items on the delivery note, packing list or invoices have been received.
    • Examine all items received to verify that they are in good condition and conform to the specifications contained in the requisition/order form or approved sample where applicable.
    • Determine efficient and appropriate methods of storing supplies.
    • Brand/Mark identifying codes on items received where applicable.
    • Issue stock to authorized project staff or partners, keeping accurate records of all materials issued.
    • Compile reports on inventory counts, stock records, spoilage or damage to stock etc., as required by the Project Management.
    • Ensure up to date and accurate manual and computerized stores records, proper stock reconciliations.
    • Maintain all stock records and take part in regular stock taking as shall be required by the Project Management.
    • Ensure the cleanliness, security and good order of the stores.
    • Ensure a proper filling system is in place for ease of retrieval and reference of documents.

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role preferably in an NGO set up
    • Minimum of a Diploma in Stores Management or related field
    • Good computer skills
    • Ability to Multi task
