    Senior Internal Audit Manager

    The overall purpose of this job is to drive sales to new emerging social commerce accounts and manage customer relationships for the business in line with the commercial strategy. The role is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration in the market by effectively selling Sendy services with an aim to maximize long-term revenue opportunities.

    About the Role

    The overall purpose of this role is to build and lead an Internal Audit  team that supports Sendy Limited, it’s group of companies, and it’s business units to identify risks, improve SOPs, monitor processes, and investigate fraud and theft.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance
    • Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans
    • Obtain, analyse and evaluate accounting documentation, reports, and data
    • Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process
    • Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
    • Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures
    • Document process and prepare audit findings reports
    • Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
    • Test the operation and tweak the design of existing financial controls
    • Maintain and cultivate a master inventory of our businesses policies, practices and processes
    • Improve Customer & Partner experience by initiating improvements to the financial control and auditing process
    • Work with Data, Finance, and Product team to find and fix technical bugs
    • Identify and reduce all business and financial risks through effective implementation and monitoring of controls.
    • Conduct ad hoc investigations into identified or reported risks.

    About You

    • 8+ years of Internal Auditing experience
    • Experience building and managing an Internal Audit department
    • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
    • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports
    • Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations
    • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
    • Sound independent judgement
    • High level of integrity
    • Degree in Internal Auditing, Financial Accounting or Financial Management
    • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Experience building and managing complex SOPs

    Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager (Nairobi)

    The overall purpose of this job is to drive sales to new emerging social commerce accounts and manage customer relationships for the business in line with the commercial strategy. The role is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration in the market by effectively selling Sendy services with an aim to maximize long-term revenue opportunities.

    About the Role

    The overall purpose of this role is to build and lead a team that supports Sendy Limited, it’s group of companies, and it’s business units in making analysis driven strategic decisions through detailed projections and historical analysis. This role (team) will work very closely with Finance and Data and be responsible for supporting all Sendy commercial business units across multiple subsidiaries and countries.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead the FP&A team, manage the workload and track the deliverables including coaching, driving and developing the team and advise on individual team member’s performance.
    • Partner with the Executive Leadership team to define and drive the annual and long range strategic plan.
    • Working closely with the leadership team to formulate the business’s  financial and strategic plan across the three major product categories – Transport, Marketplaces, Auxiliary Financing
    • Create, update, and maintain financial models and detailed forecasts of the company’s future operations.
    • Define and implement the reporting, analysis, planning, forecasting model of the company across all functions and cost centres.
    • Build models to project long term growth and determine the impacting business factors.
    • Provide detailed analysis and insights on the company’s performance across channels and categories along with the cost centre results to the Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors.
    • Review company investments and suggest opportunities for the company to expand or grow. Map out growth plans, including capital expenditures and investments. Generating three- to five-year financial forecasts.
    • Communicate results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operations.
    • Conduct analyses and reporting for corporate functions including, monthly financial analysis, reforecasting, variance analysis, profitability analysis, and graphical summaries of business unit financial performance.
    • Support initiatives targeted at financial processes improvement and the implementation of changes to achieve efficiencies.
    • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy, motivation and positive attitude around the accomplishment of the team’s objectives while remaining agile in a fast paced environment.

    About You

    • 8-10 years of experience in Finance with exposure to both FP&A and Accounting.
    • Master degree in Corporate Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
    • Strong people manager with a passion for career development and building high-performing teams.
    • Outstanding problem solver who does not shy away from complex financial and operational issues and can think critically along with strategically.
    • Master at financial modelling, Microsoft Excel wizard who is comfortable with Business Intelligence and data reporting tools.
    • Have the ability to form and develop relationships with a wide variety of functional roles and organizational levels in order to drive cross-functional initiatives involving teammates from across the organization.
    • Possess strong communication skills and able to communicate and present both internally and externally with individuals at all levels of an organization, including senior leadership.

    Credit Controller (Nairobi)

    The overall purpose of this job is to drive sales to new emerging social commerce accounts and manage customer relationships for the business in line with the commercial strategy. The role is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration in the market by effectively selling Sendy services with an aim to maximize long-term revenue opportunities.

    About the Role

    The overall purpose of this role is to pioneer the development of an  internal Credit team that supports Sendy Limited, it’s group of companies, and it’s business units to identify risks, improve SOPs and AR procedures, monitor cash position, approve credit lending, build relationships with Lenders, and support with debt fundraising and reporting.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in the production of monthly credit risk data, analytics and commentary used for quarterly earnings preparation, Investor presentations and reporting.
    • Perform portfolio analysis of the Sendy’s Credit Risk exposure in support of key external reporting and reporting to senior risk management.
    • Be encouraged to think creatively, challenge status quo, and deliver across a multitude of strategic objectives.
    • Stay up to date on the latest Risk related news and trends across the financial services industry, markets, politics, etc. to anticipate potential impact(s) on Sendy, our loans, and our AR position.
    • Prepare/maintain/review monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, equity roll forward, cash flows and various management reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency with accounting standards.
    • Manage the month-end close process, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations and account analyses in a timely manner
    • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems with the goal of maximum utility to other executive team and departmental leaders
    • Serve as a key point of contact for debt fundraising and investor due diligence.
    • Manage the cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.
    • Monitor debt and credit, pursue collections.
    • Hands-on partner to FP&A for business planning, financial forecasting, budgets, and management reporting activities
    • Lead and manage all AR activities, procedures, monitoring standard, reporting, etc with the ARs in each respective business unit and subsidiary.

    About You

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
    • 3-7 years of experience in risk and/or financial reporting. 6-10 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
    • Understanding of credit risk (i.e. traditional credit products and counterparty risk)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills needed for working within a team environment as well as communicating across departments
    • 2+ years of people management
    • Experience in a startup or other fast-changing environment
    • Proven working experience as a Financial controller
    • BA in Business, Accounting or Finance, CPA or CFA (or equivalent) required.
    • Experience leading process optimization and financial systems implementations
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with Executive management and cross-functional teams
    • Ability to explain complex or technical financial subjects to a non-technical audience
