    Procurement Manager

    You will play an important role in sourcing the best deals, negotiating hard and working collaboratively with internal customers and external suppliers for an ambitious Pan-African company.

    To support the East African operations to ensure Sokowatch is always receiving the correct margins, supplier terms and procurement & delivery of products on time across all country branches.

    Reporting to; Global Head of Supply Chain


    Key Responsibilities

    • Organizational-Managing direct and indirect team(s) of procurement operations professionals and country managers with responsibilities across multiple branch locations to ensure network-wide standardization for all procurement related processes
    • Lead the purchase of non – inventory goods and services by securing price, capacity and service levels in line with commitments to the business by applying a wide range of sourcing tools (e.g. negotiation, strategic collaboration, tenders / RFP’s etc.)
    • Ensure effective risk management of the supply base through robust contracts. Implement corrective actions as appropriate. Manage all related commercial, financial and ethical aspects of executed buying runs
    • Drive the business to align with budgeted buying plans while keeping maverick spend at less than 2% of the total non – inventory spend
    • Responsible for providing support, training and guidance to junior and / or new team members. As well as coaching and motivating local operations buyers in the achievement of their objectives
    • Identify, achieve and report on cost savings and value targets for all non – inventory buying activities
    • Develop and implement a continuous improvement action plan. Monitor changes and adjust the plan as needed to sustain performance results
    • Demonstrate leadership by regularly maintaining & updating relevant OKRs
    • Advise, train and mentor junior supply chain team members

    Key skills and competencies

    • Required: 4 – 5 years of experience in a similar role
    • Preferred: Strong background as a Procurement Specialist in OPEX or MRO
    • Bachelor degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance or Statistics
    • Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced sales environment
    • Demonstrate deep knowledge of procurement processes and procedures
    • Strong data analysis and superior organizational skills,
    • Strong oral, written communication & presentation skills
    • Willingness to travel for work across East Africa
    • Must love working with people and cross cultural team

    Credit Administration & Collections Assistant

    Sokowatch is searching for a Credit Administration & Collections Assistant to be based in Kigali. The primary goal of this position is evaluating new credit requests, including checking credit ratings, deciding whether to allow credit to a debtor and advising on credit limits.

    Location: Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru & Eldoret

    Reports to: Financial Services Manager

    Qualification and skills

    • The ideal candidate must have previous experience 2-3 years of debt recovery, collections or credit control in a microfinance or business to business environment-
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or any other related field
    • Excellent communication & people skills (written, verbal and telephone)
    • Be able to multitask and handle several client accounts
    • Persistent, assertive and competitive natured
    • Good negotiation skills ,dependable and honest
    • Ability to work unsupervised accompanied by strong work ethic.

    Responsibilities;

    • To carry out customer education on financial services
    • Mobilize customers to utilize credit
    • Coordinate booking of credit orders
    • Maintain the relationship with the customer to ensure collections/retention
    • Reach out to customers who have churned and win them back
    • Be able to communicate with debtors in a clear and professional manner.
    • Negotiate payment terms with debtors where appropriate.
