    Product Manager - Existing Product Improvement

    Job Summary

     

    SunCulture has reached an exciting phase in its development and is poised for significant growth. The organization needs an experienced Product Manager to take the lead with respect to existing product improvements and internal product support. The role is key to the growth of the organization due to its influence on customer satisfaction and hence SunCulture’s net promoter score.

    Does this sound Like You?

    • 3-5 years of experience in Human-centered design (HCD), a design and management framework that develops solutions to problems by involving the human perspective in all steps of the problem-solving process
    • Bachelors degree in engineering, product design, business, or another relevant field, with a Masters degree preferred
    • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative customer research, both in the form of surveys and in-person interviews.
    • Experience working in sub-Saharan Africa preferred
    • Able to fluently communicate in English; Swahili a plus
    • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast evolving environment, and able to to plan, be organised and meet deadlines
    • Hands on, detail oriented and with strong execution skills
    • Good communication skills and should ensure Information communicated is clear and timely
    • Independent thinker able to thrive and make decisions in a fast paced dynamic environment

    Responsibilities

    Existing Product Improvements           

    • Manage lab and field tests of SunCulture products to generate quantitative performance data (e.g. pump efficiency, yield impact drip vs. sprinkler vs. mist, etc.). The data will be used to determine improvements to existing products
    • Own technical product aftersales; work closely with aftersales engineers to resolve product bugs identified through analyzing maintenance reports and evaluating product designs
    • Engage customers and staff to not only measure satisfaction with existing products  but also to solicit ideas for product improvements
    • Work closely with the CTO & Head of Product to identify design enhancements to continuously improve the user experience of all existing products
    • Define and implement standard testing procedures for design changes and bug fixes
    • Manage the integration of approved design changes and bug fixes into the supply chain
    • Maintain a close relationship with the Head of Product to ensure knowledge transfer and a smooth transition of products from  New Product Innovation (NPI) to Existing Product Innovation (EPI)

    Leadership

    • Build, inform and act as an ambassador for a culture of human-centered product design
    • Scale up, mentor and coach a highly efficient and hands-on product design team
    • Train the team on all changes to products to ensure the quality control, sales, installation, and maintenance teams are knowledgeable on all existing products
    • Manage the performance of the team in line with agreed quarterly KPIs
    • Collaborate with individuals from different departments to meet the requirements and timelines in line with existing product enhancements

    Regional Training Officers (North Rift and Central Rift)

    Job Summary

    As the Regional Training Officer (RTO) you will be responsible for training and empowering the sales team with the knowledge and skills required to meet their sales targets. To prosper in this role coaching will be your daily role and your passion should be in training and working with diverse teams.

    Key Requirements

    • Passionate about developing others’ capabilities and empowering those around you.
    • Willing to gain experience in ‘doing’ what is being asked of others before learning how to train it.
    • Effective communicator in front of small-medium sized groups of people.

    Responsibilities

    • Actively participate in the recruitment and selection process of new sales agents in the region
    • On board all new sales agents by scheduling the orientation process, training the agents on the sales process,
    • Assist in the development of a training curriculum and ensuring the training conducted is as per the training curriculum
    • Developing the individual coaching plan for each sales agent and ensuring all resources needed by the agent are provided,
    • Coaching each agent by observing what they are doing and providing guidance whenever needed,
    • Identifying knowledge gap among the sales agents by spending more time with them in the field and giving necessary recommendation in filling the gaps,
    • Developing training materials, conducting training sessions, evaluating and recommending areas for improvement,
    • Supporting the training financial objective by ensuring training activities are within budgets allocated and controlling costs.
    • Ensuring all training done are towards achieving the sales strategy in place and reporting on the impact of the training program.

    Credit Data Analyst

    Job Summary

    The credit analyst role will be a support role in the Consumer Financing Department. Your key role will be research and data analysis to enable the company to make data driven decisions. The candidate should therefore have experience in data clean up , data transformation and metrics optimization. S/he will be responsible for understanding company operations and provide accurate and timely data reporting and analysis using statistical techniques to internal teams and relevant stakeholders. Your role will entail gathering data and information from various sources and performing data checks to ensure data accuracy, completeness and evaluate risks.

    Does this sound like you?

    • Bachelor of Science in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, social sciences or related fields.
    • Experience developing and implementing data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
    • 2 to 3 years proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Proficiency with statistical languages (R, SAS, STATA SPSS) and Programming languages, such as, Oracle, and Python
    • Strong working experience with MS Excel, MS Access, MySQL and other databases
    • Data visualization and reporting techniques.
    • Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently as a team player

    Responsibilities

    Data Management

    • Improve the database design, data entry and ensuring information in the PAYG portfolio is properly managed with data cleanup as and when needed;
    • Diagnose and solve data entry, storage and quality problems that may arise;
    • Collate, query and clean data coming in from internal platforms, including flagging out inconsistencies and/or errors arising from collated data as part of routine data checks;
    • Create new processes for data extraction and suggest automation tools for day-to-day analyses;
    • Design and maintain data flow patterns for ongoing projects and advising projects on optimal systems to minimize data errors;
    • Data backup management

    Data Analysis and Reporting

    • Analyze and interpret large amounts of data to identify trends, gaps, and inconsistencies;
    • Generate analytical reports and make presentation as and when required and  in the required format;
    • Provide support to teams by responding to ad-hoc data requests, answering questions, and providing basic technical support and analysis;
    • Turn data into insight and communicate findings enable teams properly communicate and make data driven decisions;
    • Share different daily/weekly/monthly reports with relevant teams  for decision making.

    Business Analysis

    • Work with the management team to prioritize business based on findings from PAYG data analysed;
    • Understand  business questions and hypotheses and determined output metrics to answer them;
    • Business data review and validation;
    • Transform raw data to final output metrics and present the findings to business stakeholders;
    • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

    Sales Team Lead (Central Rift - Nyahururu)
