    Driver- CIMMYT

    Duties and responsibilities

     Transport & Logistics

    • Provide safe and timely transportation of staff, visitors, and goods to and from designated locations in the field.
    • Support logistics arrangements for staff field movements, meetings, CIMMYT events, and emergencies.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
    • Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, trip details, and submit weekly/monthly usage reports.
    • Provide logistical support for transport and field operations as required.

    Vehicle Care, Mechanical & Maintenance

    • Inspect, service, clean, lubricate, and perform minor repairs on farm machinery, attachments, and fleet vehicles; escalate major mechanical issues to external service providers.
    • Assist with routine vehicle maintenance (cleaning, oil/water checks, brake checks, tire rotations) and ensure all vehicles meet statutory inspection and roadworthiness requirements.
    • Support the development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans, and monitor vehicle performance, fuel efficiency, and maintenance schedules.
    • Maintain farm tools and ensure a clean, well-organized workshop, and spare parts inventory to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

     Machine Operation

    • Operate tractors and implements for land preparation (plowing, harrowing, disking, leveling etc.), slashing and field cleaning as required.
    • Perform machine planting of trials and nurseries using tractor mounted planters across all programs.
    • Operate combine harvesters during harvesting season to harvest trials across programs.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure vehicles are equipped with safety kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, spare tires, and other essentials.
    • Report accidents, incidents, or violations promptly and accurately to the supervisor.
    • Ensure compliance with traffic laws and organizational transport policies.
    • Promote high standards of road safety, courtesy, and professionalism always.

    Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record, class D1 (PSV Van) and G (tractor)
    • Certification or proven experience in automotive mechanics.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in driving manual vehicles and vehicle maintenance.
    • Knowledge of local traffic regulations and vehicle compliance standards.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent driving skills and road safety awareness.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
    • High level of integrity and reliability.

    Crop Science and Remote Sensing Specialist-CIMMYT

    Duties and responsibilities

    Agronomy

    • Design, implement, and oversee on-station and on-farm agronomic trials aligned with breeding and seed systems research objectives
    • Optimize agronomic packages (plant population, nutrient management, water management, and cropping systems)
    • Ensure standardized agronomic protocols and data quality across locations
    • Monitor crop growth and field conditions, ensuring uniformity and trial integrity
    • Maintain accurate agronomic records for all trials
    • Analyze agronomic trial data and contribute to interpretation of G×E×M interactions.

    Crop Physiology

    • Identify and quantify key physiological traits associated with yield, stress tolerance, and resource-use efficiency
    • Support phenotyping for drought, heat, nutrient stress, and other priority constraints through implementation of standardized phenotyping protocols across sites and seasons
    • Integrate physiological trait data with agronomic and breeding datasets to inform varietal selection and targeting
    • Conduct physiological experiments under field and controlled conditions (where applicable/necessary)

     Remote Sensing and Geospatial Analytics

    • Deploy and operate remote sensing tools such as UAVs/drones, handheld sensors, and proximal platforms for data collection, including processing, and analysis of imagery and sensor data
    • Acquire & process imagery from satellites, drones, and aerial platforms
    • Apply vegetation indices and spatial analytics for crop monitoring, stress detection, and trial quality assessment
    • Integrate remote sensing and GIS data with field and physiological data for high-throughput phenotyping
    • Produce spatial maps, dashboards, and visual products for technical reporting
    • Mapping potential distribution area of various stresses, diseases and pests using environmental variables associated with their occurrence

     Integration, Capacity Building, and Reporting

    • Synthesize agronomic, physiological, and remote sensing evidence into actionable recommendations
    • Provide technical backstopping and training to partners, field teams, and national programs
    • Contribute to scientific publications, technical reports, and donor deliverables
    • Support data documentation, reproducibility, and knowledge management

    Requirements

    • MSc in Agronomy/Crop Physiology & Remote Sensing
    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in applied agricultural research
    • Demonstrated experience integrating field trials, physiological measurements, and remote sensing data
    • Strong quantitative and data analysis skills (e.g., R, Python, GIS platforms, Google Earth Engine, ArcMap)
    • Experience working in multi-disciplinary and multi-location projects
    • Prior engagement with international, CGIAR, NARS, or donor-funded programs is an advantage

    Duties and responsibilities

    MLOps Framework Development and Pipeline Automation

    • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and scalable MLOps frameworks.
    • Develop and maintain data, training, and deployment pipelines ensuring reproducibility and efficiency.

    Model Deployment, Monitoring, and Performance Optimization

    • Deploy machine learning models into production and ensure reliable performance.
    • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to track model accuracy and drift.

    Image-Based AI and Digital Phenotyping Solutions

    • Support development and deployment of image recognition models using drone and mobile imagery.
    • Utilize tools such as Roboflow and Databricks for image-based workflows and scalable ML operations.

     Collaboration and Cross-Institutional Integration

    • Work with CGIAR partners (e.g., ICRISAT, IITA) and internal teams to harmonize MLOps practices.
    • Facilitate knowledge sharing and integration across multidisciplinary teams. 

    Governance, Capacity Building, and Continuous Improvement

    • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.
    • Provide training and promote adoption of best practices while integrating emerging MLOps.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Agricultural Informatics, or a related quantitative field.
    • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in machine learning, data science, or MLOps environments.
    • Demonstrated understanding of machine learning workflows, including data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
    • Experience working with machine learning models, deep learning frameworks, and Large Language Models (LLMs) in research or production settings.
    • Experience working within international research organizations, CGIAR centers, or agricultural research projects will be an added advantage.
