    Quality Assurance Manager

    Farsight Africa Group has established a reputation in the marketplace for working in complex and challenging environments that demand a comprehensive understanding of local cultures, indigenous communication practices and relationships with stakeholders at both the grassroots and national level.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyse documentation and technical specifications for the application being developed in the project to determine its intended functionality and use the analysis to design quality objectives for the project including required customizations/enhancements/changes to improve product operating efficiency.
    • Create, document and manage the overall quality assurance strategy for use in the project and have the strategy agreed with all stakeholders including clients. Design, document and execute a quality assurance masterplan while anticipating quality assurance challenges and developing targeted counter-plans for the specific challenges; ensure timely and seamless delivery of product that satisfies client expectations in all aspects
    • Participate in intake process to determine scope and velocity needed in order to deliver software on a timely basis; collaborate with the developers to ensure project execution complies to contract and client expectations; ensure collaborators have a solid understanding of overall strategy
    • Develop test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated); execute end-to-end functional and automated tests cases; analyze formal test results to discover and report any defects, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws; document issues in a fashion that enables a developer(s) to recreate the issue; drive actions needed for defect correction; assure project timeliness by undertaking comprehensive but prompt system testing, bug tracking and reporting by following up on and closing defect tickets immediately after weekly releases.
    • Establish metrics to determine readiness, quality and operability of software, systems and products; prepare and present reports on progress across the metrics to client and project team; communicate QA status; partner with stakeholders, developers, product owners, and business analysts to help make decision on production readiness
    • Participate in scrum daily status and project status calls to provide accurate updates on deliverable timelines and status.
    • Develop, present, and respond to proposals for specific client requirements; coordinate and conduct feature demonstrations for stakeholders once testing is concluded.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's or higher education in the field of information technology or similar,
    • At least 5 years of working experiences in implementation of information system and 3 years in the area of quality assurance
    • At least one successfully finished project for implementation of information system supporting core business processes for organization of similar size and complexity in the role of quality assurance manager

    Data Migration Consultant

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Technical Data Migration Responsibilities:

    • Execute the data migration process from end to end
    • Analyze, extract, manipulate and migrate information and data from legacy case management systems, into the application to be developed
    • Analyze data in legacy formats and validate data sets to ensure data consistency and internal requirements are met
    • Coordinate with all impacted source-system, and IT teams to ensure integration points are managed and involved
    • Perform technical validation of extracted and uploaded data to ERP systems
    • Responsible for the conversion of client data from various sources, including document management systems, records management systems and matter management systems
    • Develop procedures, scripts and utilities for conversion processes that transforms the data to meet business requirements
    • Provide Statistical reports of data moved, transformed, cleansed and loaded
    • Coordinate and develop test flows for QA of the data migration
    • Communicate with all disciplines to ensure flow of data set before roll out
    • Manage patch notes and roll out process
    • Manage version locks and import tools
    • Schedule roll outs that affect the live game
    • Monitor design and code changes

    Project Management Responsibilities:

    • To liaise with our clients to ascertain what specific data they require to have transferred, customizing it to their needs
    • Design the data migration process, test, and migrate data into a target environment from a multitude of data sources to satisfy customer requirements
    • Provide the data migration plan for approval to the customer
    • Confirm with customer data migration techniques and methodologies to be used, adjust as necessary to adhere to any restrictions and limitations for use of technology, tools
    • To collaborate within dynamic project teams, to facilitate the build and delivery of workflow solutions utilizing an approved case management application, to both new and existing clients
    • Partner with the customer and implementation managers to ensure the most efficient migration of different types of legacy data
    • Document, review, and confidently communicate project deliverables to stakeholders and internal team members
    • Identify risks that could impact a successful migration
    • Analyzing, documenting and communicating migration details following implementation to take a constructive approach to continuous improvement

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor degree in IT, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business, Finance or any other related disciplines.
    • At least 5 years of experience working in a data migration position.
    • Thorough knowledge of databases, HTML or content management
    • Successfully completed three (3) projects involving migration of large data sets from legacy systems to a new application.

    PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

    • Strong project management and organizational skills, with an emphasis on managing completion of tasks by non-direct reports
    • Good understanding on the agile approach, leveraging best practices and implementing/documenting repeatable processes
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent communication skills working with people of various levels
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with a high attention to detail, while maintaining excellent quality and superior customer service
    • Experience working in a matrix organization with teams that may be virtual in nature
    • Flexibility working in a dynamic environment
    • Understanding the importance of maintaining positive client relationships throughout and beyond the project process
    • Self-management in working within multiple concurrent projects
