About the role
Associates are the core of Komaza’s systems. The Carbon Associate will be primarily responsible for developing and coordinating complex systems and operational structures (frameworks, processes, policies, standard procedures) and designing our internal carbon knowledge management platform, with guidance from the Carbon Manager and Senior Carbon Manager.
The Carbon Associate will also support the carbon certification and sales process by delivering analysis, conducting research, and interacting with multiple internal (Field Operations Management and Employees) and external (consultants, experts, verifiers, buyers) stakeholders. The Associate will use their generalist skill set to help the team solve challenges and reach their objective of generating and selling high-value, innovative carbon credits on an annual basis. In the process, the Carbon Associate is expected to develop an advanced knowledge of carbon project requirements and become a core component of the team when it comes to exploring carbon-focused innovation and expansion opportunities.

About the role
As an Associate on the team, you will be responsible for leading projects, driving results, collaborating with and advising senior leadership, shaping organizational culture and managing change across the business. The role reports to the Strategic Operations Manager and will be based in Nairobi with occasional travel to our forestry sites in Kilifi, Kwale and Nyandarua.Our aim is to develop our Associates to become future business leaders. As such, you will receive regular coaching from your manager and mentorship from our Senior Leaders.
