    Quality Assurance Associate

    Position Summary

    The Quality Assurance Associate will be responsible for activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable standards and guidelines requirements. S/he will work closely with the business analyst and software engineers to ensure that all software is thoroughly tested before release. The incumbent will serve not only as a Quality Assurance Associate but also as a key team member who will fit into various roles to deliver significant value to clients and end users.

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    • Develop, document, and execute detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured automated test plans and cases based on software requirements and technical specifications.
    • Review requirement specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
    • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
    • Distinctively identify, record, document, and track bugs on Jira.
    • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved and documented on Jira.
    • Leverage knowledge and contribute to proper knowledge management within the project.
    • Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation and training users.
    • Preparing and implementing quality assurance policies and procedures.
    • Performing routine inspections and quality tests.
    • Identifying and resolving workflow and production issues.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing Quality Assurance related results as needed.
    • Any other duties assigned by the Quality Assurance Lead.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, with major in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
    • Test automation experience.
    • Minimum three (3) years of experience in software development, technical support, systems analyst, or Testing/QA roles.
    • Experience with and development of functional, interface, integration, and user acceptance testing required.
    • Practical experience delivering IT solutions for projects related to clinical information system implementation projects highly preferred.
    • Practical experience working in central business office highly desirable for projects related to financial information system implementation projects.
    • Thorough understanding of healthcare-focused software.
    • Experience with creating queries and reports against a relational database.

    • Ability to work independently, clearly communicating status and work plan.

    Junior Data Analyst

    Position Summary 

    The Junior Data Analyst will support the Data Analyst and analytics team to develop information products for routine and non-routine use by stakeholders at national, county and facility level.

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    • Support data mapping (including accurate mapping of facilities and partners), data quality assessments and feedback to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Implement sustainable strategies to improve quantity (improved reporting rates) and quality of available data in the DWH.
    • Support data analysis during evaluations and studies using data from different sources including the DWH.
    • Support the documentation of data management practices for the DWH indicators.
    • Support the development of dashboards including visualization.
    • Support product management team to disseminate data and program improvement information products.
    • Work closely with Data Analyst & Information Use team members to develop and disseminate information products.
    • Support the development and maintenance of DWH-related documentation and data dictionaries.
    • Provide feedback to the BA team, DWH team and Data Analysis & Use team members on the required enhancements to DWAPI to meet stakeholder needs.

    Required Qualifications

    • University education in Medical Statistics/Biostatistics, Statistics, Biomathematics or equivalent.
    • Completed graduate internship or attachment experience in HIV/TB program in Kenya.
    • Proficient and working knowledge in R programming language for data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
    • Working knowledge of GIS and data visualization tools such as Power BI is an added advantage.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

    HIV/TB Specialist

    Position Summary

    The HIV/TB Specialist will provide overall subject matter expertise in the field of HIV and TB prevention and treatment and offer technical support to foster data use at all levels. The holder of this position will apply sound epidemiological principles to support HIV/TB data analysis and implement national and subnational data driven activities for program improvement.

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    • Work with data analysts to inform development of sound statistical analysis plans in line with epidemiological principles for program improvement.
    • Develop information products including slide decks, bulletins, policy briefs, reports etc for program improvement.
    • Disseminate analytic outputs to internal and external stakeholders through webinars, conference presentations etc.
    • Spearhead implementation of data-driven decision-making during Data & Program Improvement Cluster Meetings and other fora.
    • Develop and implement strategies for data use culture among internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide technical assistance to HIS developers and implementers in development of digital health solutions on HIV prevention and treatment (HTS, PrEP, PEP, DSD, ART optimization, TB/HIV, retention, MNCAH etc.)
    • Support transformation to data science innovations using AI and machine learning; provide input to the design, development, and application of machine learning approaches to identify populations at risk of adverse programmatic outcomes.
    • Support GIS analysts in geospatial analysis to characterize spatial distribution of the epidemic and associated outcomes for program improvement.
    • Develop content and convene workshops with MOH, county teams, SDPs, and other partners on deeper data interrogation, analysis, and triangulation for program improvement.
    • Provide technical assistance and other capacity strengthening activities to county teams and SDPs to inform automation of information products from individual-level data systems toward epidemiologically sound outputs and to drive continuous quality improvement.
    • Participate in the development of research protocols for the project and develop guidance for county teams and SDPs on appropriate collection of high-quality data toward monitoring the HIV/AIDS epidemic, including a framework to extract and share de-identified data with relevant stakeholders for further analysis and use.
    • Participate in data analysis and data use activities, ensuring protocol adherence and scientific standards are maintained, data quality, and publication of study findings. Ensure data collection and management is timely, accurate and complete .

    Required Qualifications

    • BSc in Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, or Clinical Medicine. Graduate degree (Masters or above) in public health, epidemiology, statistics, health informatics or related field.
    • 7+ years of experience directly implementing HIV/TB programs in Kenya.
    • Experience managing public health research/evaluation activities, preferably related to HIV/TB is an added advantage.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the structure and functions of Kenya’s HIV epidemic response.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with PEPFAR reporting requirements and systems.
    • Demonstrated technical knowledge of epidemiology, statistical analysis, and public health relevant to the HIV and TB epidemic.
    • Excellent technical writing skills and storytelling through numbers.
    • Experience in interpreting statistical outputs of software such as SAS, STATA, R, SPSS, or PYTHON

    Software Developer

    Project Overview And Role

    Funded under the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through a cooperative agreement with the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Palladium Development and Consultancy Kenya Ltd (Palladium Kenya) anticipates 5-year funding to support the Kenya Ministry of Health, county governments and healthcare service delivery partners to implement technological innovations in health information systems.

    These innovations include the scale up of electronic medical records systems (EMRs) for clinical decision support and improved patient care, the enhancement of the Kenya National Data Warehouse (NDW), a centralized data repository of data from EMRs for analysis and reporting, the development of an interoperability layer to support the exchange of data across systems, the enhancement of mHealth solutions and numerous other innovations including patient identification and informatics solutions to support health surveillance.

    Primary Duties And Responsibilities

    • Design and develop software application using opensource tools and platforms based on user requirements and needs.
    • Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code based on specifications.
    • Work closely with UI/UX designers to develop and implement highly responsive user interfaces.
    • Build reusable complex components and libraries for the Data warehouse applications.
    • Work with data scientists and analysts to improve existing software
    • Optimize and monitor software for maximum performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
    • Participate in developing and designing effective APIs for the Data warehouse ecosystem.
    • Working on troubleshooting and debugging and software application code.
    • Perform duties and tasks as assigned by Infrastructure and Sustainability lead

    Required Qualifications:

    • BSc in Computer Science or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in web application design, development, and implementation.
    • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g., HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
    • Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
    • Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g Apache, NGINX, IIS)
    • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (e.g., Git / Mercurial / SVN)
    • Experience in Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) technologies to manage and execute code
    • Fluency in English language.
